:eek: Thats not far enough for me to get the car warmed up

Anyone who dosent know it, its a doddle to find, J9 M3 & has a shell garage opposite to give the car brekkie as well.

Theres even a choice of 2 car washes about 200 yards apart & a car park big enough for dougnut practice :D:D

Absolutely not, would be great to see you and find out what your car is doing + it keeps the doubting Thomas's quiet by verifying the rollers

Or gets them going when the stock cars show more than they should

Don't forget that your ECU takes 250 - 500 miles to 'learn' the benefit of having higher octane fuel on board; so its no good filling up 'on the day', you need to do it the week before at least (or run with it full time).

I use it all the time :):)

Dosent disconecting the battery for about 1/2 an hour reset the ECU ?? It was always the trick we used on Subarus

But it will still have to learn what to do with the fuel and how to get the best out of it

Quite right!

I use Shell V-power diesel full time. Fuelled up last night - 112.9p per litre; ouch!

Let me take the car for a spin, shouldnt take more than 1/2 hour :):)

I'm seriously tempted to whack half a tank of BP 102 Ultimate in but at £2.42 per litre it's going to be even more painful!

Surely a waste of money unless your remap is good for 102/103 Octane fuel.

Don't worry, it will be! :D

It's also an adjustable remap so such luxuries can be catered for.

Steve IMHO you'd need to run your car almost dry on the vPower, put £10 or so of liquid gold in and run that and then put your token amount for the RR day.

It may well be worth introducing an engine fault code and then clearing it which I'm lead to believe is a good way of performing an ECU reset. Simply unplug the MAF and turn the ignition key to position one should cover it.

I'm always on V Power, even managed to get the Shell plus points Lego Ferrari set with the points- how old am I? I use nothing else but V Power.:)

There was a time I put the octane booster in every tank, but the inside of the exhaust turned red, so I stopped. Gave me a first ever Nordschliefe lap during my holiday (with that and the blown tyres and brakes) at 11 minutes.

That was a mk1 with APR stage 1...

Can't wait to run in so I can go get the stage 1 from them again - 240 -250 bhp for £500, similar to the guys at Formula 1, Brighton.

Billy

240bhp to 250bhp, from purely a remap on a mk1 Octy???

nah, sorry, didnt make it clear, thats on the mk2.

Thats from the chip company F1 use and from APR uk

both seem to be claiming the same figures.

The mk1 was somewhere around the 210 mark with cold air carbon intake added.

ah! I was gonna say LOL

Slightly OT -

I wouldn't get your hopes too high of seeing a genuine 250 horses from a stage 1 map on it's own. When choosing your remap look at the quoted torque figures as these are more important.

Back OT - You'll see a couple of fine examples at JKM.

On a note of frugality,

my old octy used to average my commute to work at around 32 mpg after chipping (this was up from standard).

The new one is on about 25mpg, so will be getting her chipped asap to save money!! What a great way to sell it to the mrs!!!!
