L&K Comfort and 1.8 tfsi questions

Didn't think L+K's were available in Ireland, have only seen 3 spec levels on the Skoda website and they are not on their price list.

Skoda Ireland's website is a joke - L&K has been for sale here about 9mths now I think and still not listed on there :thumbdwn:

After moving to Honda earlier this yr (and hating most of it) am thinking of making the move back to Skoda ASAP.

Thinking about the Octavia L&K with the 1.8tfsi engine, so looking for any info I can get on each of these. There must be a few out there who own an L&K - how do they find it for comfort? Seats look good in pictures but cant get to see a car in the flesh so cant try them out :(

And the 1.8, who has driven / has 1. Does it have enough punch? Relaxed on motorway / longer runs? Any idea of RPM in 6th at say 70mph?

Looking for any and all info I can get on these so please let me know what ye know

Cheers

Bryan

There is a good review by Auto Express on the Octavia 1.8t fsi. There is also a good review on the Top Gear site. I have ordered an L&K in brilliant silver with light leather seats and front parking sensors. Hopefully it will be delivered by Christmas!

Impeccable taste there

Enjoy the car when it arrives.

Post some pics of the Brilliant silver colour if possible.

Has anyone driven the new 1.8 :confused:

dstev2000: love your car's interior.

byran: haven't driven the 1.8tfsi myself but a work colleague has, he thought it was a top engine. "good lump of low down torque.... and it revs nice". not exactly an autocar review but hey.

Has anyone driven the new 1.8 :confused:

weve got the sport 1.8t and its a excellent drive. quiet, refined, pulls all the way through the revs too! its fairly rapid and cruising is very calm and efficent affair.

the new L and K with the 1.8t would be a excellent car, defo the way to go. i would go for the black half leather, half alcantra option though. just prefer the darker interior and like the half leather. but the grey leather is lovely!!!

oh and black magic is a fantastic colour to go with the grey leather, that or storm blue :)

Cheers all - sat in the "Dark" seats in an Octy Scout today, think will go with the full leather option, tho not seen / sat in it feel it will be the softer / more comfortable option.

And the 1.8 is getting good write-ups so think it is the engine I will be going for.

Now just to get rid of the Civic, fingers crossed I will have news on that come monday next :)

Good luck.

Keep us posted with the progress

Theres prices for all the range on http://www.phoenixmotors.ie

Dunno if the below link will work, see the showroom section  Btw if you click on the model theres details on spec...dunno how accurate it is though.

SKODA Octavia

Looks consistent for the UK L&K plus front PDC and heated washer nozzles amongst other things.

Bottom line is all the important spec boxes are ticked.

Why can't the Skoda.ie site be anywhere near as comprehensive as this???

Thanks for the info woodenspatulas, can I ask what kind of mpg you are getting and what is your usual drive? Mostly M/Way - town or mixed?

Been outside cleaning the seats up today, a little Gliptone leather cleaner followed by the conditioner. Only took half hour or so. They always come up really nice.

Who are you going to do the deal with Bryan?

Who are you going to do the deal with Bryan?

Ray Deasy @ Noel Deasy Motors, on the new Mallow road. know him for a few yrs now, still talking "cash price" but if Civic sells he is sorting me with something to drive till the Octy is in :)

Yeah I know Ray. Sound fella. I thought that you used to deal with Tarrants?

Yeah - and would prob get a better deal there in the end, BUT, Ray is 5min from my house, Tarrents more like 45, so for service and what ever going to give Deasy's a go.

You could get a price from Tarrants (or any other dealer) and see if Ray would match it :)

Well, the Civic is GONE :D:D:D.

Deasy's are closed tomorrow due to a death in the family, so will be Wed before can order the Octy or see what he is giving me to tide me over till it gets here.

Prob going for "Brilliant Silver", and some of the styling mods from Skoda "Sport front and rear bumpers) with the Milotec boot spoiler

Let the waiting begin :finger::rofl::rofl:

The RS costs that bit more in every way, to buy, insure, run. And to add some of the standard kit on the L&K to the RS drives the price up even more. After the hit I am having to take on the Civic - every penny counts now :thumbdwn:

1.8TFSI reviews reckon it isn't lot less powerful than the diesel vRS. Makes sense as there is only 10bhp in it. Oh I know the torque is different... yeah....yeah......yeah....

Congrats on the selling the Civic. Who took it off you?

Have you still got the old skud on the zv plates. Sure that would do you!!

A young lad from Clare, seems to love all the toys

Had to sell the old car also to help pay for the new car :thumbdwn:, so the Octy better be everything I am hoping it is, hate having to buy a car without even being able to see one, never mind getting a drive in it :thumbdwn:

What about contacting Skoda Ireland to see if they might know of any demos or stock ones around :)

What about contacting Skoda Ireland to see if they might know of any demos or stock ones around -

Have done it and been told they are "special order" only - was willing to travel but there is simply no where to go :(

I am also keen on buying one of these of course subject to a testdrive, tut tut Bryan:)

They seem like great value for the relatively high performance and reasonable running costs.

Anyway I contacted Newport Motors in tipperary and he tells me he will have a 1.8 TFSI in stock at the end of this month. He also says he doesn't expect them to be a big seller everyone wants the 1.9tdi 105bhp farmer special:rolleyes:
