How can you compare a phone camera to a real camera....the camera will always win because it's a camera

I agree completely. However I stand by the fact that the camera isn't 'brilliant' nor does it take 'fantastic photos' it simply doesn't. Any phone camera is good for capturing a shot because something funny happened etc, but the results aren't great unless you have loads of superb lighting, which lets face, is hardly ever the case.

Even in good lighting the photos lack details noticably, the colours aren't great and there is a slight blur to most shots.

I'm only stating the facts. I don't dislike the phone at all

it takes fantastic photos for a phone... and if you take it off auto its even better once you learn the traits of it, its better at taking photos than my old ixus 3i is (3.2mpx camera) is, hence why i dont use the ixus anymore. if i want good photos i borrow my dads camera... for all other times N95 will do

"for a phone" maybe. If it was any bigger than that though it would offend the eyes! lol! You wont make me change my mind though. I stand by my opinions

Wanna fight about it ............lol

Cracking subject for the photo, no doubt - but does lack a little clarity. But for a phone,

As said, to have as an included feature on the phone, it's very good, especially for times when you won't have a normal camera about. I use a D-SLR for proper shots, but this makes for an ideal 'everyday' accompaniment :)

I thought it was a good picture for a phone. We are truly spoiled by modern technology these days, I remember my old Nokia 6230 with it's 1.3mp camera and people used to rave about that. "you mean... you can take pictures.... with your phone????"

They have come onnleaps and bounds considering, and with the rest of the junk that the N95 has to cope with it's still one of the best camera phones on the market.

There are no right or wrong opinions, there are just opinions, it's how eloquently you argue that counts.

Hi Folks

In my quest to get my N95 working with the factory bluetooth I stumbled on this thread on the Nokia Europe forum

Re: N95 Bluetooth connection with car - Connectivity

Or follow the directions below

"Having just bought a new Audi A6 Le mans 3.0tdi quattro Avant - I was keen to find a solution to this bluetoth/phonebook problem. I too have the Nokia N95 and can confirm that the above link works 100%. Firstly you need to have Nokia PC Suite installed on you PC & phone .. then download the application and save to your pc. With your phone now connected to your pc.. download the saved application to the phone... [ make sure bluetooth is off and not paired to your car ]

Once installed on your phone - go to your car & connect/pair via bluetooth.... go to applications and run the application. It took a couple of minutes "processing " .... then switches to " transferring " ... again a minute or so.... Job Done.. My phone book is now integrated with the car and the MMI.

Thanks for the above link. Nokia Europe - Nokia 810 Phone Support Software

It's the 2nd one down.....ie

Nokia 810 Contact Download Application for Nokia S60 3rd edition devices Download now

Nokia_810_Contacts_Download_S60_3rd.sis

103.80 KB | English"

I keep digging the N95 out to play but then ending up switching back to my HTC Trinity because of the bluetooth integration, but I did as described on the last post of this thread and voila, my factory (vrSTU) bluetooth now has a synch'd phonebook.

So in Maxidot I can see and use the N95's phone book, but am still missing the missed / accepted calls, but it's a start. There is also another chap in this thread who has tried it with factory fit bluetooth on an Octy and had a result.

Sorry if it's been posted up before folks....

Fluff'

Thanks to Tony's top tips here I now have contacts visible on my Maxidot and RNS510. I don't have previous call lists or operator name that I had with the SE but it does have signal strength.

I have two further questions,

1. The Nokia N95 3 NAM is only available in America but appears to have more useable RAM than the lowly N95. Does the latest firmware upgrade address this deficiency?

2. Is it possible to install the new Adobe Flash Lite 3 on the N95?

1) Yes and No... the '95 3 has 128mb RAM, our "classic" n95s only have 64mb.

the v20 firmware introduces demand paging which gives loooooads more free memory.. ive got 6 apps running and still have 22.5mb RAM free :D

2) Its scheduled for the new f/w version, a developer edition has been made available but it doesnt intergrate into the browser, so is therefore pretty useless.

does anyone know of any plans for the latest greatest flash player for the N95? its quite annoying how many sites i can't look at as they require the latest version of flash :(

hang on, did i just ask a really stupid question?

It does seem a shame the the Merkins get the full fat version of the N95 when all they'll use it for is shouting at their associates, using the PTT function for general abuse, and getting the keypad all greasy with hamburger fat and 40ounce Coca Cola residue...

:iagree:

:D

Right! Nother N95 Question...

Is there any speech to text software available for the N95? Or is that too complicated? I just wondered as the N95 does voice commands so why not speech to text?

This would save me a great deal of time writing documents on Quick office.

There are a few applications out there but I can't find a free one.

You could try this, not sure if it will do everything you want though.

Nokia Software Market Type "voice to text" in the search string.
