Appreciate this thread is for another meet but...If anyone is interested 'Booka Track' have organised a track day at ty croes, anglesey. for fri 28/5,

Andy Ellis had a bit of a moment in the fast left hander after the pit straight! Think the car smelled a bit after that! ;)

Shortly before the spin I was stood taking photos in that very spot (between the two concrete aprons).

Llandow? (For no better reason than it's just down the road from me.)

Llandow is a nice little circuit. Used mainly for sprints. Good fun. Quite cheap too :D

Another vote for Anglesey....

:D

Before we all get too carried away I think a cost limit should be looked at, Brunters was a fantastic day out but we struggled to fill it at

Or Rally cross for the 4x4's & Si Horton

 Stuart,Youve just described ty croes! Little if any armco, loads of run off areas,ex.surface, suits all cars not just the quick ones, technical, and cost/value much better than other circuits ;)

CJ

Er um "Where", never heard of it, Sounds good to me but Please enliten me as to where it is, sounds Wales ish

Stu, sorry bloke, thought everyone knew it! 5th gear use it a lot for testing/reports.That was it last week..FAB v mini. It's Anglesey. Not exactly central granted, but of all the circuits I've been to,this is (for me) the track of all tracks, and I'm not alone in thinking that either.Never heard anyone moan about it FANTASTIC!!:D The picture on our home picture is ty croes too! No where in GB has a back drop like it either, not that you get much time to admire it whilst going around  cheers colin

Stuart the key thing about anglesey.... is 45 cars will fill it - the run offs are good ... apart from the hairpin but as none one car suffered from brake faliure at brunters i dont see this a as being a prob... the surface is much less abrasive and the max speed reaxched is 130 in a bloody quick car... most will struggle for 110....

and all the people who were newbies are now old hands....;)

Wouldn't mind Anglesey myself, i quite enjoyed my run around there with Jon a few months back ;)

Should be fun tackling it in my own car :drive:

And we could combine it with a overnighter social ;)

Does Anglesey cater for newbies.....or is it just a case of running with a "big X" on your car?

Couldn't make Brunters but hopefully I'l be able to make the next one.

Was disappointed not to go but even more so after hearing everyones reports. :bawl:

:D

Maybe, just maybe, my tyre supplier will extract his digit for the next one ;)

Adrian,

If we can fill it with Briskoda members we can make the day to suit ourselves ;)

As Paul says, we dont need 70+ cars to fill it, and i think it's reasonably priced too, so it shouldn't be such an effort as Brunters was.

Anglesey is OK for beginners. Speeds aren't massive, most places have decent run off, although TBH, it isn't as forgiving as an airfield. Mind you tyre wear is much less of an issue.

just thought that CHAVYBOY has posted a thread about going to the York Drag strip for a day,we could make that a bit of a meet if there is enough interest.

Yerr I was trying to push for that Wrighty.

Anyway a would like to do a proper trackday so I am open to suggestions of where to go to pop my trackday cherry

GTI spectacular in august is a good one for york... turn up big party night before... then really annoy the golf boys.....

Jon,agree speeds arn't massive, but hells teeth don't half feel like you are travelliin' comin down pit lane straight to the long sweeping r hander  Seen a couple of cars go off there, ended up not far from the cliff top!  Never seen a 'bad' off there though.Another thing about ty croes is it's a very pleasant easy run (bar traffic volume at times) either down the A55 coast rd from the east (like being in sth of france) or A5 from the south-beautiful scenery I for one would be more than willing to help organise a day there.Know of a couple of decent b&b s too :) colin

i went off at school ( long r.h at end of pit straight ) at over 100mph and i didnt make it to the cliff.. slicks on wet grass....

did try my best though...

Well, there are a couple of days in Sept where there are only 1 or 2 cars booked on at the moment at Anglesey. We could just monopolise / take over one of them :D

the poll seems overwhelmingly in favour of a circuit... anglesey seems popular...

JFDI i say....

Sept 19th? You might have the rims starightened by then ;):D
