Wouldn't you like to know! ;)

welcome slender! :D

recently sat in a s60R - very impressed with the seats, superbly comfortable.

Welcome to the site :wavey:

I like Volvos (back in ya box CJ). There seem to be a couple of types of driver of them. I fit into the maniac category. Imagine driving at 40 along a nice road in the Lakes, when suddenly either a 940 Turbo estate (with boost upgrade) or a V70R, towing a bloody great caravan decides to overtake you  That'll be me, set the cruise at 55-60 and go :D Oh and the number of people who think they can outdrag that combination, now that is fun.

My dad now has an XC70 D5 auto for the towing, but haven't borrowed it yet.

Having said that, I'm a fan of the "Volvo with an attitude", I'm a SAAB man :D

Any tips I can pass on to my boss who has a Saab 93 Aero 2.0T? Its 210HP now but it doesn't feel it when I drive it... :( I need to convince her to tweak it a bit.

Oh yes, Abbott Racing :D

My last 9000 made my RS feel slow and unweildy, it also stopped a lot quicker :D

Lo Slender.

My skoda is white and a bit louder.

(It is! It is! It is a skoda !!!!)

Where did you get that outrageous body kit from? I want some of that !

I told my insurance company it was an Octavia with a minor alteration to the body.

Got my insurance down to

How much XS have you got on the medallion and the chest wig? :D

;) Hey Slender,be glad your new aquisition ain't in black magic, and yes you were right andy,it's a right old bitch to keep clean :( but it gets me out of the house and decorating, and it don't 'arf look good when it's done :D C.J.

Colin,

You should try having two Black Magic cars in the house hold and a wife who doesn't clean cars.

On a side note have you got pimp tints?

Well, errrrmmm,well....... sort of, but not for any other reason than to hide the few bits n pieces I carry around for work though. I assume a little fairy has been filling you in on all the details,up sort of frankby area ish!? Shall have to have words and slappings with wet haddocks :D

Welcome Slender :)

I test drove a Fabia vRS the other day when my Octy was in for sevice and was highly impressed by it. Tourque-tastic mate!

My work car is a Volvo V70 T5 (no, I'm not Traffic). Bit of a beast, but well built and the seats are indeed great, like a sporty armchair if there is such a thing, and all too easy to fall asleep in (as a passenger!) at night

Enjoy the site.

Welcome, Slender!

Volvo seats are the best (I drove a V70 turbo estate for some time), and personally recommended by my chiropracter! The amount he charges me, he should have a whole fleet of 'em......

Phil :D

I was more a case of thinking when you picked it up and what was in there at the time.

And still the welcomes come! Friendliest site I've ever visited.

CJ: My wife was deciding between a black vRS or a silver one. As the Head (sole) car cleaner in our house I was mightily pleased she plumped for silver!

TaviaRS: You've got to get your hands on that XC. Prior to my S80 I ran the petrol version of the first generation until my nerves (or bank balance) couldn't take it anymore and I got rid of it. An amazing car. And if you can find an icy incline with a layer of fresh snow on top.....you'll be staggered at what the car can do - and how fast!

I've tried the D5 briefly and would go that route if I bought another.

Thanks for making me so welcome everyone.

Sorry, I seem to have strayed into the volvo appreciation society here  Suppose they are ok, apart from the one I had nicked on me last year, and it wasn't even mine :thumbdwn:

No it's those old estates I don't like,340 s or summat? You know the ones with all the 'extras' (!) I keep raving about :ukliam:

That big S80 or whatever it's called seems to get excellent reviews, but....HOW MUCH! How many go off road I wonder,or are they the usual tesco car park pose and dropping timothy and francessca off at school accessory I wonder  C.J.

I reckon you mean the XC90, CJ, the bulk of which probably never go off road and, yes, at

Sorry slender, don't know my volvo no.s! The XC90 of course.Hellishly expensive and horrendous waiting lists too I believe.

Does look that way doesn't it! Just co-incidence that a stack of Skodas have turned up. The Superb looks, well, Superb, in a lovely shade of gold. If it was on a Volvo it'd be called Hearing Aid Beige, but it's definitely a golden hue on the Skoda. Can't remember if it was a manual or auto - I love autos - but I did note the 16" steel wheels detracted from it's otherwise purposeful looks. 17" alloys would have filled the wheel arches better and just set it off a treat, but I appreciate that's the deal with Classic trim.
