Boost gauge locations..

Featured Replies

That's the one Phil, looks quite discrete - shame it doesn't fit the Octy. Wonder if I could adapt it to fit?

Not sure... I'm considering having a go. It would be good to hear if anyone has already tried.

The gauge comes with the pod from Awesome, although it's a VDO unit so will be available else where. I'm not sure where you might get it (possibly from awesome), If you search for "VDO" on here, or google you will probably find something.

bit ott sorry.

anyone know where i can get that gauge from? as theres two i like and thats the one i cant seem to find anywhere in psi only in bar

I've seen pictures of a guage holder that sits on the steering column so it's postioned between the speedo and rev counter - anyone know where I can get one?

I have one!

They dont get in the way at all, and look 200% better than some of the pillar mounted ones you can get....

I think I can vaguely remember seeing a pod that sits in the instrument binacle and has a guage either side, looks real subtle, I'll try to find it...

stevie could you post a picture of yours so we can see what it looks like please?

Cant get the link to work.....

If you look on members cars and look through my pictures you'll see it there:thumbup:

Is yours a golf unit, Stevie? If it is, does it fit straight on?

..

Yes mate its the Golf mk.iv pod.

IMO it looks far more in keeping with the style of the interior than a god awful pillar mod......those are too Max Power-ish for me!!!

Thanks.. is it the one which sits on top of the existing trim (shown above), or the one which is slightly bigger and actually replaces the top half of the trim?

And how well does it fit?

Thanks again

The pod and gauge bundle Awesome do looks like it has interchangable illumination leds and I'm sure I've seen a green one mentioned on their site. That would look really good with the Octavia clocks.

Sorry Steevie i cant seem to find your post in pictures and it wont let me search the freedom bit.

EDIT

found it! sorry, is that the one listed above?

Here you go!

Looking good - was it a perfect fit Steevie or did you have to adapt it?

I would like this one for the Octavia. Picture from an A4 ..

Here you go!

Does it sit over the top of the original trim, or does it replace the top half?

It sits on top quite neatly, you need to drill the top of the cowl though to feed the boost pipe up.

That is without doubt the best looking gauge position and style that i have seen. Anybody know where i can buy one from?

Darren

I'm in two minds about that. I like it because it's right where you're looking all the time, but it covers half of the warning lights.
