yeah the mothers are a great bunch of hypicrites, i go past schools in the morning in a lorry and never above the speed limit (or even near it) yet they scream at you to slow down, later on there they are up your **** trying to push you down the road cos you wont go to their speed of above the limit.

Honestly I had a sit and run Picasso up my bum the other day, started to overtake me in a 30 while I'm doing 30, another shameful mother driver, two kids in the back and a lame bum of husband in the front passenger seat.

Best bit was she waited to go through a village speed camera then she tried to overtake, somebody burnt the speed camera out 6 months ago!

My mates mini is the best, it says nothing, but he tends to chase scoobies and evos if they pass him. Currently he has 188BHP, from a 1.6 vtec . 0-60 takes about 5 secs, that is good fun, drivers of said cars cannot believe that a mini is chasing them.

That an old Mini?? Top idea if it is LOL :D:D

oh yea, the only external clue is that it is on 14" metro wheels and it is extended by 110mm, a fairly common thing these days. Also the look on peoples faces when they are doing 80 ish and you fly by them is priceless. Not that I condone this sort of thing but I wasnt driving.

I had this today too... Coming home earlier, I had this **** in a Polo right up my bum, itching to over take me and the three cars in front of me but couldn't due to a mixture of blind bends and on coming traffic. He was all over the road coming out and then back in again but within inches of my back bumper.

Eventually I passed the cars in front and left him behind, unfortunately as soon as we hit another 30, he was right there again. As we approached another NSL he starting getting closer and closer to me at which point I turned him into a little red dot in my mirror!

After a while he caught up again in a 30 and again decided the best place for him is up my bum at which point I briefly slowed right down. He got the hint and backed off... well... up to the point where he wanted to take the next right turn and decided it would be great to come thrashing passed me before making the turn.

Why are some people such morons??

Coz they get off on it :(

Cool :D Love the sleeper idea!

I saw some pics of a Mini that had had a 2 litre Vauxhall engine squeezed into it  I think it was for sale on Pistonheads a few months back.

Thing must have been a rocket!

Yea thats the other common idea, although compared to the vtec its more likely to kill you. Other than that it can be a little quicker to 60 (like 0.1 sec ish) so it depends on what you want. It is fun though when people realize they cant shake the mini behind them.

My other friends Land rover (s3) has similar effect, that has a modified 2.9l cosworth V6 from a granada in it.

Nah, it's the fact you're holding them up by sticking to the limit. Funnily enough, they don't seem to like it very much when they 're holding you up in the "derestricted" bit and you look to pass them! Had some ch@v in a modded 106 who overtook me in a 40mph zone and then got a bit wobbly through the twisties when I started pushing him on in the NSL afterwards

Chris

LOL thats awesome.

It is fun though leaving them looking stupid. Good on motorways too after 50 limits. 'Think I'll pull out and pass this Skoda, oh dear where's it gone'. Cya

I get that on the A666. Sticking at 50 and cars tailgate/tear past you to brake at the next camera. Only to find my little Skoda rip past them when they slow to 40 or don't realise that was the last camera.

I slow right down, almost stop sometimes.

f*ckers!

taxi drivers around here are the worst for it

Depends on how much of an ar$e they are being; but effectively, yeah i'll just lift off and slow on a safe stretch of road so if they want to pass they can.

As stated above same to$$ers doing 40 in a 30 will then do 40 on an NSL which is very very frustrating.

there's a road near me which is known as being quite bad

there are stretches of tight corners with water filled ditches next to them, and you always see in the local papers about some idiot who's dumped their car on its roof in one. so people definitely hate being overtaken on that road. I've been driving it all my driving-life, so know it really well and people get really mad if you overtake them on it :)

Please overtake me at the NSL sign.

I had a pupil who changed down to 3rd put the boot down and left a BMW in a cloud of soot on leaving a 30mph zone. BMW driver was rather annoyed as the road beyond is twisty with double whites down the middle.

I'm not going to stand in the way of a pupil who knows the speed limit.

Why did they change down, Surley they should have been in the suitable gear already? :D :P

Just teasing

I had this with a chavved Megane a few weeks ago, I was pushing him on in the (very twisty) NSL after he'd overtaken me in a 30 limit, and he drove beyond his abilities, spun out and fell off the 6ft embankment.

I did stop to see if he was ok, and he just laughed it off...

More than I'd bother doing......

I had a simular situation the other day, was in a que at rush hour at a set of traffic lights, Was miles away from the lights. The traffic was moving very slowly so i just left it in 1st gear and let the car creep along rather than booting it up to the car in front...wait.....and then do it again.

So we're happily steadily moving along and the whole time i got this c*ck in a white van right up my chuff! even tho there is only a gap between me and the car in front of about 3 car lengths, this toss decided to try and over take me so he'd be 1 car in front! Little did he no i was already in 1st gear so just put my foot down abit and he was left in the middle lane with oncoming traffic coming his way! AHHHHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!:rofl::rofl:

We've got some great roadworks near us at the moment. Major road having major rebuilding work on it, so it's temporarily got a 30 limit (which to be fair is really annoying when you're travelling through at night and there's nobody working there; but hey, the speed limit is the speed limit right?). After pootling through there at 30 I usually have about a dozen cars lined up behind me. Wait till the impatient one behind you has moved over and then floor it.

This does bring me on to another of my pet gripes about impatient drivers...

..why do some people think that the speed limit changes the moment they can see the NSL sign, not when they go past it??? I nearly got tagged by one the other week because I didn't floor it until I passed the NSL sign and he was 90% of the way past me. I knew he wasn't going to be as fast once we cleared the roadworks so I wanted to stay ahead and floored it. However, he panicked when we saw me coming through and decided to cut me up instead of surrendering gracefully. I was right as well - he didn't exceed 50...

More than I'd bother doing......

Quite frankly then if that is your genuine opinion you don't deserve to have a driving license.

I hope you were joking Tom as driving in such a fashion as to cause somebody else to go beyond their abilities and have an accident would IMHO be something along the lines a driving offence. If you really did that I hope you are ashamed of yourself.

I have just seen you going towards Gorebridge. Nice hat by the way, especially on a day like today.:frosty:

I learned from my dad the best way to get rid of tailgaters is to slow down. It annoys them and if they pass then at least they are where you can keep an eye on them.

Once when he was doing this with me in the car (I was 10 I think) the Ford Crapi behind floored it and ran on the other side of the road forcing traffic out of the way to get past. About 1/2 a mile later he was just getting out of the car at the pub he was racing towards and my dad pulls up. Crapi pilot looks cocky, points and laughs to his mates sat outside.

Then my dad pulls out his warrant card...
