Hi, yet another member of cupra.net who's registered overhere, I should be chopping in my Leon Cupra for a Black Magic Fabia vRS this weekend

Whats the best deal I can expect?? I am looking at getting one with Cruise and possibly a 6 disc changer.

Is the HU any good or would I be better not getting the changer and getting an aftermarket CD HU that plays MP3's

Welcome to Briskoda, Buzz L! You should recognise your Cupra hiding inside the Fabia bodyshell... ;)

Hiya... welcome :)

The standard sound system in the fabia vRS is actually really good... but gets much much better with a aftermarket HU.

I would personally settle for a aftermarket HU with mp3 capability... several members here have the Pioneer DEH-P77MP (me included) and it is an excellent unit.. :D

youll also find that a chipped fabia vRS is just as quick as a chipped leon cupra ;)

Welcome.

Yep. Replaced my head unit on friday with my Kenwood Z828 MP3 player. It a old head unit but what a difference it makes. Much better. Sound is much cleaner. I've set my built in crossovers to 40hz at the front and 100hz at the back. This stops the speaker playing the really low notes that subs should play. Which means the speaker can take that little extra volume. Which is nice. :D

Welcome to Briskoda Buzz.

You won't regret your purchase.

The standard HU isn't all bad, but whack another HU in place and you will notice a big improvement. I know I did. :D

Yeah, but your a flash so and so with a DVD multimedia unit.

Welcome Buzz. I agrre with everyone else about an mp3 player HU although I chose Blaupunkts Woodstock DAB player with recording capability.

Welcome Buzz !

welcome buzz! :D

hello Buzz,

wish replacing the head unit on a Octy improved things!!!!!bloody rubbish standard speakers in it!!!

Welcome mate. Excellent choice.

Having been to Lara Fabian's concert in downtown Beirut last night, I'm still feeling high, so when you say

, I'd say that's a nice engine upgrade :D (just to rub things in a little to the petrolhead tavia drivers out there!)

And to think you were looking at the ibiza sport 130, I think that's a real skoda fabia success story

Have to say, I do like this thread on SCN :D

Regarding sound, the oem speakers are quite good, but if you want a largish catalogue of music, I'd go for a mp3 head unit. If you get the stock 6cd changer, you won't be able to use it if you decide to change the head unit.

I too have the Pioneer DEH-P77MP unit, as it is a great HU, plays mp3s and sound quality is very very good. But most head units out now around the

Thanks everybody, finances are now sorted so all I need to do now is arrange a test drive and hopefully do the deal.

Definately going to leave the changer and get a aftermarket HU, quite like the look of the Blaupunkt, by the way what colour are the instument lights ????

:mw: Just been and ordered the new car, Black Magic Fabia vRS with cruise control

Car is due to be built during build week 24 so should be here end of June can't wait.

The test drive was great, really impressed with the handling and very surprised at the ingear accelaration nearly as quick as the Cupra and I was sold as soon as I was handed the foldy key.

All I need to do now is get my Briskoda T shirt and put my name down for the bonnet lifters.
