Hi all,

I know alot of you post on alot of other forums. Looking at how people find the site, word of mouth, links search engines etc, there is a pattern with a few gaps.

Word of mouth is the highest (word of mouth includes cross links from various forums/sigs over hard links on links pages.)

So would you like some signatures (standard sig size and below) that you can use in forums elsewhere to help spread word?

Welcome your thoughts on this and of course any budding artists who want to create some masterpieces, feel free

Other forums I have used simply design a flyer in say a JPEG format and then allow uses of their site to download and print them out then distribute as and when. This was sucessful and brough in maybe 10% of new members a year, others where search engines like google and ask jeeves etc.

Other things to think about are area rep for different counties which is always a good idea they also used to promote the club. These simply organise regular meetings around there counties and help out planning nation wide ones as well to raise the profile of the club.

Just a thought.

Just personal opinion, but my signature is about me, not about any forum I visit or represent. If I have a signature on another forum, it's just as likely to contain stuff relevant to that forum as Briskoda. Much as I love this place, I don't regard it as the forum to top all others, rather I regard all places I visit as having qualities of their own, and use them for different purposes. If I advertised Briskoda on SCN say, I'd feel honour bound to advertise SCN on another forum, and so on...

Not asking you to place this over other forums. Simple things, just like your jabba sport link, text or images along the lines of the sooty club. It's not the easiest thing to judge and I need to know if the long hours in photoshop will have an audience and a use outside of Briskoda...

Eg on EVO (the once in a blue moon I do post) I add a link to brisky as my sig, the posts normally realte to the car or similar thus the link is purposefull in spreading the word.

Won't suit all, but it will for some. I only read two forums presently it's all I have time for. I see signatures, some wonderfull creations, some not so. There is a tracking system for referals to the site however, so I know who comes from who, although mainly via the email recommend to a friend feature at this point in time. The signature tool would generate the link to allow this to be expanded.

Thought about this myself the other day seeing a couple of vRS Octy's in a car park near me. Was thinking about making something up myself to spread the word, but then thought that this is a "free" club, band, forum call it what you will, so it's not like we're advertising for subscriptions. Would still be good to get loads more owners on board though....

A smallish banner (say, animated .gif, 800x60) should do the trick
