And STILL you miss the point!! You were going on saying I had a problem with people criticising my car? I have only had it 7 months yet been on here a couple of years, if I had a problem with that I wuoldn't have bought it. You really are just making things up now, and despite me pointing this out, you continue to do so. You seem obsessed with the fact that I think it's the best car or something? I've never said this. Please learn to read.

Bengie seems to think that dealers have the right to abuse peoples cars, and you seem to think that all Fabia drivers think that fabias are the best car on the planet. That annoyed me. Also, you seem unable to grasp the context of my initial reply. When I said 'of course its the best car on the planet' I then explained I meant because it is MINE! Not because it is a Skoda, or because I think that fabias actually are the best cars on the planet. Seriously, give me credit for having a brain. Just like I think my dog is the best dog on the planet, despite the fact she was only £50 from the RSPCA. If anyone so much as laid a finger on her I would batter them.

I don't need to accept that my car isn't the fastest - I already know? I never said I had a problem with that, because as I have stated a million times thats not what I was talking about. I used to have a P reg Mondeo ffs! It was alright but far from wonderful. Doesn't measn I wouldn't have been upset if someone keyed it though.

P.S - Please learn the difference between 'you're' and your' , 'there' and 'their'. It makes you sounds like a schoolchild :)

Could we refrain from personal insults please, as per the footer on the bottom of every page. Thanks.

:iagree: with Loz. Exactly. everyone's dog or cat is the best one in the world. Not necessarily the fastest runner, or the most intelligent, or the best at tricks or the most obedient, or a potential Cruft's winner maybe; just the best, because that specific animal is their companion.

And you seem to completely miss the point of what I'm saying too, so I suggest you also learn to read, or alternatively we just agree to disagree, you are obviously all worked up about it and clearly reading things to quickly and not taking it all in so I think it best we just leave it there.

P.S. I'm not writing a letter to the queen, If I choose not to spell correctly or use correct punctuation or grammer on a bl**dy message board then thats up to me, I'm not anal enough to go through a post just to spot one mistake, it's a pretty pathetic attempt to get 'one up' on someone.

Johnjohn you seem to have missed my request above. The next such message from anybody will result in a warning, at least.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

But seriously, I doubt the consent was there for the car to be driven in a manner resulting in it breaking the law... Perhaps this is all bigger than what we're all going for?

Sorry I wasn't in his front room discussing this, I can only go by what was said on the forum, which was above.

As has been repeatedly stated, how I chose to drive my car is up to me, if someone else is entrusted with my vehicle then I would expect them to treat it with respect and certainly drive it legally (or at least not get caught!).

very true, but in an attempt to clarify his earlier post he also went on to type this:

exactly.

so you would expect to be treated exactly the same buying a 15K skoda as you would buying a 75K BMW/MERC/AUDI etc etc

some options on other cars cost the same as a brand new octavia or fabia!!

and yes in the grand scheme of things skoda is a budget brand as teh most expensive car in their range with all options isn't even 30K where as the likes of bmw, audi, mercedes, lotus, ferrari, porsche etc etc all makes cars that are double this with no options.

skoda aren't so much a budget brand compared to cars in the same price bracket like peugeot, ford, citroen, vauxhall etc etc that normal working class people buy.

clearly he's saying the Skoda as a brand is...average, no more and no less, and that you would expect a higher level of service from the likes of BMW/Mercedes etc.

Don't forget the fact that he actually still owns and looks forward to driving his Octavia, so is in no position to looks down on the badge or those who drive a Skoda. He's just being realistic with his expectations

:)

From any comments I've read originally made by potential or actual owners of quality German cars (well other than Porsche), I actually get better service from Skoda dealers than I could expect from those brands.

got a merc dealership right next door. on a number of occasions ive had people just drop in after theyve been there and be totally surprised by the levels of service they received.

one up for the skoda boys ;)

I don't think there is a marque I haven't heard a customer service horror story about.

But I've heard worse story more often regarding Audi, Merc than I have for Skoda.

Putting service cars out as courtesy cars etc.

Bengie seems to think that dealers have the right to abuse peoples cars

and where exactly did i say this?

its about perspective i suppose, driving at 39mph ina 30mph isn't directly disrespectful is it as you don't know the exact circumstances of the incident do you?

for all you know he was doing 39mph 100yards into a 30mph zone in the middle of the country just after the speed limit dropped from 60mph.

maybe the road is in the middle of nowhere on the back of an industrial estate and the limit has been changed from 40mph down to 30mph and he got caught by a mobile camera van behind a bush?

but for me the speed itself is not an issue of respect as i expect people to respect the car as they don't know the person and they may have been in 4th and driving the car very steady and the speed creaped up without him noticing.

i'd much rather on a test drive the mechanic was to speed a little and drive the car nice and smooth without revving high than to drive within the law and wheel spinning and bouncing off the limiter etc etc which you would never know about.

but for me when thigns like this have happened to me in the past(and yes they actually have) there is no need to go flying off the handle and run in there shouting at people you simply walk in and point out that something has happened and work with them to get it sorted out otherwise how do you think they will treat your car in the future? ;)

I wasn't suggesting flying of the handle at them, I mean your first few posts imply that if people don't buy RS4's etc then they deserve to have their cars abused. This has caused unwanted problems for the cars owners, not really great customer services is it?

JohnJohnHealey - I wasn't correcting grammar, you used entirely the wrong words, thats not something done by 'choice' generally. I'm only trying to help. It's one of my pet hates

dad's always been treated very well by the local Vauxhall dealer and that is why he's currently on his 5th(?) Astra from them, but I would still still expect better from a "prestige" brand in comparison to Ford etc

:)

Whilst I try to take care of my stuff, and would treat other people's property with even greater respect than I would my own, I'm trying to learn not to judge people by my own standards and not to be disappointed when people turn out to be ***** :(

I would suggest that 'people' who worry about things so trivial, just get on with there* lives and find more important things to worry about.

*yes that was intentional just to annoy you;)

Not wishing to start an argument but:

In my experience camera vans are conspicuous and don't hide behind bushes, particularly in industrial estates.

In either case there is no excuse - if road testing from the garage he will be in a familiar area and will know all the speed limits and camera positions. If he is still speeding under those circumstances that almost amounts to driving without care and attention.

Loz, you are a true legend and I know where you are coming from. £1 or £100,000 it needs to be treated with respect

kids oh, kids, please look up the words "Subjective" and "Objective" in the dictionary. thanks.

shut up :D

No you shut up!

Make me :D

God, Pix you're so childish! Shut up now...

That's not what you said you were going to say. Now do please shut up and let these people argue it out, thankyou please.

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.

You what, love?
