Thinking of buying a vRS

The Octavia vRS the real deal.

You could always get a Black one....... and then get a Superb........ and then get a Red one.......but who would be stupid enough to do that.[/quote']

NOT ME, Black cars are a Git to keep clean :D

Steve

Even as a canal dweller and user, if I was a Golf owner I would look very hard at the Octy, which ever extra badge it had on it.

Chuckle

IMHO

Enough is enough' date=' it's getting boring

The guy asked about an [b']Octavia[/b] RS, why suggest the Fabia? If someone said, "I'm looking for a Golf" you would of course say "Go look at a Polo" wouldn't you?off>

That's not a good comparison. Surely they would be saying "Go look at a Lupo"

As to which is quickest/fastest, having driven both, it is the Octavia, sorry if that hurts, it just is. You can spout all you like Fabia owners, but you know it is true.

The Fabia is an excellent car, best in its class IMHO, but, it is aimed at a different driver to the Octavia.

:P Go on geraway withyou ,you grumpy old :goldfish: trout!! We're having a laugh. Us fabia owners are renowned for our sense of humour...leaves barn door wide open for sarcastic caustic remarks! !

We were only suggesting to our new brother that it might be an idea to try a fab vrs,and then he can make his own mind up.Just SUGGESTING options. You lot started all this bitching anyway, *******s knows how long ago.

I remember when I first joined reading all this squabbling, and I said, ALL skodas are excellent now,so what's the problem?

Question Jon,and the rest of you fanatical octavia owners.

Why did Skoda see fit to change their WRC from octy to Faby please?

I Don't know the official answer but I would stab at something to do with being more nimble p'raps?

Not trying to entice more rants,it's a sensible question...I hope!

Colin,

To put it bluntly, Karl's question was about the Octavia, not the Fabia. Had the situation been reversed and someone had started talking up the Octy over the Fabia then i'm sure Jon's reaction (as a moderator, remember) would have been just the same.

As for why Skoda changed from the Octy to the Fabia WRC i have only 1 word to say. Irrelevant.

As for who "started" it. First mention of the Fabia vRS in this thread came from you.

Here endeth the the lesson, and probably the thread.

Not a nice way to welcome a new member is it?

Think you are being overly harsh with your comments, but being a democratic society you can speak freely

I apologise to you Karl if I have offended you in any way whatsoever, and welcome again anyway!

Ah feck it

Yes, they did chose the Fabia as it is smaller and lighter than the Octavia. They made the decision when that was the trend which is now changing. At the time of them entering the WRC they had a choice, the comparatively modern Octavia or the aging Felicia. Which would you have chosen as the basis for a WRC car?

So now they have a Fabia. They don't however have the need to be able to carry 4 servers or puchchairs along with the kids and their toys during the normal course of events :D

One thing I did note though, for some strange reason, they went for petrol :D

I know Karl says he is interested in an Octy vRS, but what about an Octy in pd130 guise? Would surely be well cheap to run in comparison to his V5 Golf, and with a little extra dosh outlaw could have it shifting like Jons Taxi?

Just an idea, but I will admit the yellow vRS does look gorgeous.

Never seen a yellow estate though.

Sorry for any offence Jon.

Questions and frivolous comments are 'irrelevant' now it seems

And there was me thinking this site was for entertainment as well as information

Time for a bit of a jason me thinks....Tarrar

No offence taken Colin. :D

Had a bad day yesterday.

No worries with the comments in general, but IMHO they should be "lounge" type comments, not the alledgedly more serious areas.

Why not just blame me :D

So, as in the Green Mile, I will absorb all the blame and fault.....

As a result, I now drive a rowing boat

Is it that slow you need to get the oars out? (j/k)

On a serious note now:

All the rest of it was just banter. I agree Jon, it's probably a little harsh for the 1st time intro forum, but all briskodians are known for

a) a good (sometimes wicked) sense of humour and

B) their relative maturity. We're not (quite) handbag slapping here unlike some other forums of sports cars. ;)

TBH, the only reason why I was suggesting the fabia was because Karl wanted something relatively economical. You can get a taxi with a pd130 engine, but if you want something more "sporty looking" although I gather that fact is debatable too for the fabia vrs, then you have a "sports" car with an "economical" engine. If I had the money, and could afford it, I would have a tavia vrs as a weekend car, just for the fun you get out of the things other than the pure speed of it. A nice DV and induction kit with zorst is a real aural dream. If money were no object and Andre (in a moment of madness ;) ) offered to swap his for mine, I don't think he'd be left with arms by the end of it :D:thumbup:

I'll keep quiet now - not because I feel ashamed - but because there's been enough joking banter going on.

Sorry, Karl :flowers: As previously mentioned, can you make it next weekend to the midlands meet? You'll put some faces to names and if you ask nicely, I'm sure you can have a trip in funkeyjutel heaven and a more modest (!?!)bright yellow fabia vrs which has been chipped.
