Has anyone been given a delivery date for the Blackline Octavia VRS?

Featured Replies

Hi, no I'm afraid that it won't have Bluetooth - that is a separate module. You do get DAB though which is a really nice feature. The music will only play from an SD Card. Alas, the Amundsen Satnav doesn't support DVD Video. Skoda do have a nice rear seat DVD system which is only around £300. It entertained my kids all the way from the North East to France this year. Congratulations on your purchase......you'll love it!

Christ mate. I bet your a riot at party's. I'm closer to 40 than 30 and don't appreciate being referred to as a kid, simply because I'm looking forward to getting my Blackline. In my opinion, kids d

Thanks. Bluetooth would have been nice, but difficult to turn down the blackline spec as it's well worth the zero additional cost. Is the DVD-entertainment pack an option post production, I saw one in a yeti, but 300£ is too much. I thought there was a USB slot for music in the glove box, or is that the MDI option? Fine with SD will just need to buy one big enough, will use dab :) can't wait now.

Another one ordered and waiting for the phone to ring to say its here!

I am like a cat on a hot tin roof waiting for this Octavia. We had a drive in the RS up to Tan Hill today and along the Buttertubs to Hawes, awesome roads to get my 380bhp Ford earning its money. As soon as we get the Octavia, I'm going to take her on that run to blow the cobwebs out of that new engine. Might even organise a meet if the weather is holding firm.....

yes, you're right that the 'USB' style slot is the MDI. Be careful with the SD Card......there are a few threads on this site which state that you can't use high capacity SD cards in either Columbus or Amundsen - I use a 4gb card which is fine but have not tried anything larger. I agree that the spec of the Blackline is hard to argue against!

I will look into this, was hoping to use 8GB +, even 32GB... should get all my music on. Its not a deal breaker, but I presumed I could have a fine collection of music with out CDs.

I use a 8Gb card with no problems with my bolero, as far as I know it should take up to 32Gb with no issues

This from the PDF manual:

Memory card case: The SD cards (Secure Digital) and the MMC cards

(Multimedia Cards) have a memory capacity of 4°GB and the SDHC

cards (Secure Digital High Capacity) have a memory capacity of 32°GB

and a dimension of 32 mm x 24 mm x 2.1 mm. The case for the memory

Any due dates yet? I am chasing my eta.

I ordered a white estate with the standard 2.0 engine (not DSG).

I liked the look of the blue but couldn't imagine it with black wheels. Also the white comes at no extra cost.

I've heard that there are only 500 Blacklines available and that got me wondering how 'unique' my car will be. And which will be the most popular colour and body-styles.

2 body styles (hatchback, estate)

3 colours (white, blue, black)

4 different engines (all 2.0 diesel)

I have seen more comments from people saying that they have gone for the standard white rather than the blue or black.

Not sure whether most people will go for estate or hatchback though.

Isnt there only one engine available?! The 170 TDI?

1 engine - 170cr ?

2 styles

3 colours

Manual or dsg.

Do you think they would just make so many of each? Or built to order? I was told likely to have stock in UK but not so sure now. Am I the only one to order black?

Yes my mistake. Its just the option of DSG or not.

If they're all sat in the UK, then the dealer should be checking the system before letting you order, there will be a finite amount of each car...maybe only 10 or so black DSG estates. What if they're over subscribed?

I'd be interested if any dealer has said they have actually reserved a specific car as happens normally on stock orders

I put pen to paper 14 days ago for my White VRS Blackline - how much longer should I wait before pestering the dealer? Surely someone should be able to tell me when I am getting it?!?

Give them a call and see what they say failing that skoda uk can help with some information regarding your order

I was advised skoda had accepted my order after checking with them.

Update: no good news yet... Apparently awaiting skoda to "allocate a car" hummmmmm.

Hi, I'm getting my white 61 vRS TD from Derek Slack tomorrow.

How did you find them??? I thought they weren't very competitive on price compared to other similar age cars found on

the used car section of the Skoda website.

Either way, I'm looking forward to it - I think they look 'superb' in white (forgive the pun!)

I spoke to a lady at Derek Slacks this morning - she does all the paperwork/ordering behind the scenes. She actually had my order sat in front of her - she was going to make a few phonecalls and get back to me, but as yet nothing. So she can't have any good news for me... :(

However, I was a little bit annoyed to find that my request for mudflaps had not found its way onto the order form. She has now added it on though. I have also pestered her for a list of the available number plates to choose from. Nothing exciting available, but there is one I like more than the others.

Fantastic - We took that car out for a gentle spin around, and it was because of how well it drove that finally convinced me to go for a VRS. Were you pleased with the deal in the end? Anything needed doing to the car you weren't happy with?

Edited by Thehulkster

I think there are better value (~£1000 difference) cars at other Skoda dealers, sadly they are in Edinburgh/Derby and other out of the way places.

Overall I'm quite happy though, got better than trade in book price for my 1.6CR S. Maybe I'm just being picky!!!

Didn't see or feel anything that needed remedying during the test drive. Got to say though, it's quite mad how

quickly you are doing 70MPH - it seemed very quiet and smooth - no significant noise to tell you that you are accelerating quickly.

Well I hope she runs well for you buddy. Enjoy!

Well, I got a phone call from the sales manager last night at around tea-time regarding the delivery of my Blackline. Sadly, I am no further forward - other than being assured my order HAS been approved and there is defo a White Blackline VRS coming for me at some point. Because these cars are already built, there is no order number that can be tracked like normally, so we are all in the dark at the moment.

This wait is awful. I could get a phonecall saying my car is there tomorrow, or it might even be as far away as next month!

I had a very similar response, I.e. Car 'allocated' but no delivery date. How can they be pre-built with the style, dsg, and paint options?

Well? Everything ok with your VRS buddy? Any pics?
