replaced Dance radio with Motevo unit, need your help

Featured Replies

i have a 2009 roomster highline which has a dance radio unit and calls bluetooth capability.

i've recently installed a new aftermarket radio unit from china called Motevo. it is one of the best aftermarket units and comes with a canbus interface so almost all the steering wheel radio buttons work.

i've made an ""awful !! " youtube review on

it is originally for the VW passat or jetta, but fit perfectly with my roomster.

i have no issues at all with the unit itself and it works great. of course it does not integrate with the dashboard screen, so i don't see song name, radio station name or the likes, which is fine but there is another problem.

apparently the car is expecting some kind of feedback signal from the radio, which is missing from this aftermarket unit, and this has caused the dashboard screen to ""hang up" on the phone screen.

it keeps showing the "insert phone message"and will not switch over to the MFD screen showing trip distance, trip time, fuel consumption and external temperature.

whatever buttons i press, the MFD screen will show for max of 1-2 seconds and then return back to "phone" screen.

this was not the normal behaviour when dance radio was installed, as i was able to switch to the mFD screen easily by pressing the mode button once.

i hope you can help me gain access to my MFD screen again.

if you have any questions on the Motevo unit i'd be glad to help.
