Software
As mentioned by PetrolDave, I have had the same issue pretty much weekly on the A3 (I go up early Monday morning from Portsmouth to M40 so all of A3 and some M25) A3 is always bad, as you had, works for a bit then problems and then back to normal, I haven't found exact locations but it seems worse on the A3 northbound than south (I come back down on Fridays). Still getting the problem on M4 West from London to Reading, but not always... I hope they find a fix! I am waiting for the mythical fix with Skoda Uk supposedly working with my garage to let me know as soon as there is one, so if you get one please keep us updated!!

No response to acceleration pedal
Fareham roundabout on A27, I live near it and use it daily, never had an issue and nothing near it could pose EMF issue.

No response to acceleration pedal
I had that two weeks ago, never really thought about it as I just thought... another software bug... I slowed for a junction, just before stopping, accelerated to pull out and ..... nothing (car just rolled forward onto roundabout).... then about 2 seconds or so later (it felt a lifetime as cars were approaching!) it came to life and the car was fine. No warnings or errors, engine was running throughout so not a 'Start Stop' issue, just a dead throttle response, the car just did not respond. Not happened since and never before in that location so nothing to do with location. A bit concerning on a roundabout though!!

TDI exchange for vRS TSI
It will all depend on what driving you do, you are clearly a reasonably high mileage (22k Km on a 2021 car) so I guess you got the 150TDi for sensible economy? I got rid of my 2018 Golf R for an Octavia TDi 150 SE L for exactly that reason..... and I would risk end up getting loads of points on my licence, here in the UK its cameras everywhere, especially mobile! I do high ish mileage and the vRS (I had one years ago) whilst fun did not fit my needs even in TDi format. If money is not the issue, there are lots of cars out there that can offer more fun, and significantly more pace, than even the vRS, but they all cost much more to run than your current car. I liked my vRS, but my wife and kids hated it (ride (wife) and front seats.. kids couldn't see the road through/around the vRS seats and suffered more travel sickness than in other cars). Ultimately its all down to what you are after, I wanted a long distance economical family cruiser and its perfect for that (except the crap and dangerous software), if I wanted a fast car I would have another Golf R or equivalent, any day, (not exactly fun but 4WD and plenty of power...) if you want exciting, get a sports car... The vRS is a good car for what it is, a reasonable balance if the cost of running isn't a problem... or selling a high mileage performance ish car later on (resale will be hit by high mileage far worse than a TDi). For me the main reason the new vRS TSi is a no go is there is currently no option (in UK) to get the DSG box with it, so I would not be interested.

System Message of the day
The messages I routinely are: 'Emergency Brake' in red even when nobody is near, and every day both 'Drive in the middle of your lane' and 'Take control' or something about keep your hands on the steering wheel, which is a joke ass my car is fitted with Travel Assist but it doesn't work so I have no idea who the car thinks is steering!! Its almost a joke now to see what random/irrelevant message pops up on each journey. The emergency brake warning, at night, with nobody around is a bit concerning but sadly as it happens so often I doubt if it happened for real I would react, so its totally failing as a 'safety feature' because of its 'crying wolf' all the time.

Can high beam assist be retro fitted to my 2021 Octavia SEL with front camera?
Sadly looks like Traffic Sign Recognition is not available via the store in the UK.... Well its not available for me, just HBA, which I don't want.

Sorry, being a bit dull, can you activate Traffic Sign recognition? I have an SE L.

I am not sure I would pay for any Skoda 'software' updates or upgrades as the current crock of cr@p they call software is a total waste of money, even if you pay the chances of it working 'properly' are slim.

Kessy on drivers door not working
This happens to me at least 50% of the time, i just get the key out. I don't use KESSY anymore as its so unreliable (Skoda Uk will probably tell you its 'normal' like that and a safety feature' 😊). TBH I don't expect anything in the Octavia to 'work' as advertised if it has anything to do with software, the software is so bad its quite unbelievable.

Renewal of Skoda Connect , cant
I have let mine all run out, I found them all pretty useless, I couldn't lock/unlock the car remotely, the Service history cannot be downloaded and the traffic was not very accurate (compared to TomTom which I use... So for me a wast of money. Had they made it more 'useful' i would be happy to pay but for me its a rip off. Other makes of cars as soooooo much better its a joke, but as with all the other software issues with the new Octavia, nothing surprises me anymore.

Driving on the right/Driving on the left
I am not sure you need stickers, I think the LED headlights are 'Flat beam' headlights so they do not need adjusting. Full Matrix can be changed as they have a nearside higher pattern. Check with Skoda but if Flat beam there is no requirement.

Gen 3 Glasscoat
I had similar put on new cars in the past and over time never seen the value, they still get dirty and need a wash, yes for a bit they are a bit easier to clean but if you want to keep it in showroom finish you will need to do proper car cleaning and detailing which for me its just not worth it. However each to their own as I don't see my car as special, its a daily user, so don't really care for it in that way, when i had proper sports cars they got cleaned more but even then it was a hand-wash and polish by me, I am a bit sad as I liked hand-washing and seeing the results!! Sadly I see it as up-selling where they get even more commission from selling you a car.

Launch Control
Had it on my Golf R (2018) and they were recorded in the system and could not be overwritten by coding, so I guess the Skoda will as well. No official limit but the dealer did say that they checked to see how many times it had been launched when cars came in for work.... TBH in the Golf it was very dull, 4.6 to 60 but very underwhelming, a bit pointless as you have to 'set it up'. Far easier just to push it into Sport (DSG gearbox) and floor the throttle! Accepting its probably 0.5 sec slower off the mark. FWD..... not much point as traction control is going to be the deciding factor pretty much all the time irrespective of weather, unless you have some super sticky tyres. Bizarrely I also had launch in my 2017 Mustang 5.0, Very odd as it only came with manual cars.... not sure how that helped as I still had to change gears and throttle and never used it.

Dashcam suggestions?
I went for Nextbase 522 after a lot of research, £149 including SD card, case and fully wired car adaptor was a good deal from Nextbase. I know its not less than £100 but don't forget the SD card is required (high use card, you cannot use a standard SD card or it will crash and die very quickly). 5 Mins to install (with short USB C 90 degree end cable to mini USB) and it comes with both a suction and sticky window adaptor. A bonus was that the screen saver can be set to GPS speed which I find useful. I personally wanted one with GPS included but may not be necessary for everyone. Good luck with your search.

Software
Mine changed when they changed the MIB from a 'B' model to an 'F' model. it was 1688, but with the newer MIB it is now 1806. MIB changed to fix the SOS fault.... but different faults came from the change!! It appears some MIBs cant take the newer software ('B' models).

Do you feel mis sold on your mk4
Yes. The software is not fit for purpose and is potentially unsafe, and Skoda knew it was.

ACC problem - can it have gone away?
To add my latest, I drove up the A3 from Portsmouth, round M25 and up M40 last nigh (arriving around 0200 so all in the dark. ACC worked fine on A3 (usually it goes wrong half way up), but failed for the whole of the M25 (A3 to M40), and was fine again up the M40.... all very bizarre. As noted above Lane assist was a bit erratic, and never picked up the solid white line on the left on the motorways. I am due a call from Skoda UK on my car but doubt there will be anything new.

Been offered £22k for Mk3, would I be mad to go for a Mk4?
You have pretty much nailed it, there isn't that much to choose from in that market place, tbh, why I have another Octavia (although I didn't research about the issues until I got the Mk4!! (School boy error) I like the Merc C class but its not cheap and a bit small..... Skoda does remain reasonable value for money.

12 months is a long time to wait, and be tied in. A lot changes in 12 months!! While I feel Skoda should have most of the issues sorted in a year, there is absolutely no guarantees, my ACC issue is not a 'niggle' its a safety issue that may cause an accident and Skoda have not been interested at all in fixing it. This Mk4 is my 4th Octavia and definitely my last, I like the car but the software is dangerous and unacceptable, they have made no reasonable effort in fixing it, for me that is inexcusable for such a large manufacturer. The other main gripe I have with the Mk4 is the fact they couldn't be bothered to get the main touch display changed for RHD cars. The main buttons are as far as possible as they could make it away from the driver, its crazy, I have to lean across the car just to hit the 'Home' 'button', again penny pinching which is really annoying. Good luck either way though as it is a nice car to drive when it works and you don't have to use the main touch screen!!

ACC problem - can it have gone away?
Mine does that most of the time on long journeys, its fine then thinks its on the other side of the road and then can sometimes 'fix' itself and work fine for a bit. Some of the time if I turn ACC off and on it 'fixes' it until it decide to have a wobble again. This morning it was all over the pace coming up the A3 and the M25.... I agree it feels like a location issue where it thinks its jumped to Europe. I have Skoda UK reporting back on my car as it has no Travel assist at all working and ACC intermittent. No idea why they are related, in fact i don't think they are, just an excuse for Skoda not to fix the travel assist! Skoda UK and my dealer have acknowledged the issue with ACC but as previous.... no date for a fix... and pretty much no interest, even though my car 'brake tested' a car on the M3 last month and I rang the police to explain, in case it was deemed as my driving as soooo many people have dashcams now! Sad because I like the car but the software is dangerous.

ACC problem - can it have gone away?
Hi, I haven’t used my car as much over the Xmas period, but mine had the issue continue through December. The garage looked at it mid December and said Skoda knew about it but had no solution, and it was linked to my Travel Assist not working!! I think total rubbish but that let them off the hook in fixing that either. Who in Skoda UK are you dealing with as I am about to raise my issue with them as its disgraceful I have Travel Assist and ACC not working (one not at all one unreliable) and there seems nothing Skoda is doing to resolve them. I will start recording where it happens because I had a strange feeling it was the same(ish) location on the A3 and M25, but I can’t be certain yet. Monday I will know more when I start commuting again!!

ACC Braking when overtaking
It does, but it gets tedious on long motorway journeys, I spend quite a bit of time on motorways and dual carriageways which is why its so frustrating. The, 'not knowing when it will start doing it' does not help either as it will start randomly on a journey, then you have to press every vehicle you overtake.
-
ACC Braking when overtaking
Thats interesting, I may have a play with mine over Xmas because previously (Mk 7.5 Golf) I could turn off the undertake limitation which would in affect fix the ACC issue until they get a roper software fix. Fingers crossed.

ACC Braking when overtaking
Its so frustrating all this is still not addresses, in fairness the only faults i routinely get are the ACC braking and my Travel assist not working at all. The head change fixed most of the rest....
