  1. They come in packets of 24 in Australia. Better to buy in bulk but its a false economy if your not using them.
  2. Mate, if the tyres are that rooted that you can see the cracking, they might be still round but the rubber is no longer performing as it should.
  3. 1. That's a remarkedly stupid thing to say. 2. Its a completely accurate analogy.
  4. So if you have 23.4 poke which is achieved with a spacer you must have an amount of extra space on the inside of the wheel. Do you think you could get a 9" 255 tyre in there?
  5. Well, that's actually the problem, you don't have 10K in them. That's like saying the packet of condoms that's 18 months out of date has 4 roots left in them. What's the manufacture date on the side of the tyre?
  6. Isn't maneuver assist when the car takes control and parallel parks or front in parks? I think front assist is the beeps. I think you'll get a solid tone when you hit your wife.
  7. There are quite a few videos on YouTube. The golf r can roll off 3.7 0-100. The superb would be about 0.25 slower due to the extra 124kg. That’s under 4 seconds and quicker than M2 competition which is quick. Then you just need to work out how to make it go around corners.
  8. How do you feel as motorcyclist when you're in the right hand lane and come up on a car as you both enter the roundabout and he "straightlines" because he didn't see you and didn't bother to do a head check?
  9. How much is the turbocharger for that? Have they told you the specs?
  10. You have a JB4? I should be getting my wireless connector shortly and then I'll be able to set it up. Firmware - Depends which camp you sit it. Some like the most up to date firmware. Others sit in the if it aint broke don't fix it group. I'll probably see how old my firmware is and then make a decision. The firmware is on the N54 forum. There is also a F#ckface group. I'd expect 272 and 280 to be similar on JB4. Have you seen any 400hp JB4s? Autoinstruct had a Golf R with 234kw and 460Nm at the wheels. I understand that the 8 injectors max out at a bit over 400hp. This is from a dyno day before Autoinstruct got their car up to 234Kw. So JB4 is similar to OTS tunes. Map 0: This is a stock map with JB4 logging ability. It is also the starter map for cars that are running flash tunes and are stacking the JB4. Map 1: Tuned map with a average of 4.0psi over stock. This is the shipped map and is compatible for both 91 and 93 and can be used with cars on hardware. Map 2: Tuned map with 5.0psi peak boost over stock. 93AKI/98Ron recommended Map 3 Peak boost 6psi 93AKI/98Ron recommended Map 4 Peak boost 6psi (Golf R and Audi S3 7speed DSG specific), it has a taper at higher rpm so will also work well for all on 93 in hot climates Map 5 Absolute map peaking 25 tapers to 20psi. E30 with bolt ons needed. (not to be used on 1.8T or 2.0T MK6 Jetta/Passat) Map 6: User adjustable boost map. The map comes preset with a 5.0psi over stock peak and is ready to use on any car running 93 octane. The preset map is also suitable for manual cars with clutch longevity in mind. The mapping can be done in two manners. If the value at 1500 is kept below 10 it will work as a boost adder map. If the value at 1500 is higher than 10 it will work as a absolute map. This means actual total boost targets will need to be entered. Map 7: Meth integration map using our FSB Meth controller Map 8: This is a valet map/safety map where 50% of the boost is cut. It will give the ability to log the car via the JB4. This is also the safety map, so in any circumstance the JB4 detects a unsafe condition regardless of map it will default to this map. This includes knock detection, lean AFR or the boost safety value being triggered due to lack of boost control. Obviously you start on Map 0 which should be a pass through Map and your car will be stock. If your car runs normally jump into 1 or 2 and start mapping. Or have fun with 1 & 2 as it is. Before you spend any money on tuning crap jump over to Jeff's webpage - My Golf Mk7 | My experience with a Volkswagen Mk7 GTI/R I'd say you probably don't need an intercooler upgrade or intake to start.
  11. These are the type of plug I was thinking of Bumper Plugs – Volkswagen MK6 & MK7 Golf / MK3 Scirocco – AutoInstruct
  12. It either a mechanical fixture (ie drill and bolt) or use some type of adhesive. I'd try a 3M double sided automotive tape and just stick it on. But its not something you can pull on and off. Removing would destroy the tape. For the hole, I've seen some plugs used on other models which look better than a hole. If you want to spend a bit more then there are mobile bumper repair people who will repair the holes and then paint and blend the area. If you're going to use the 3M tape you would need to do the repair first so they can paint and blend the area. That would be my thoughts

OK, did a bit of hunting. I couldn't find a current Australian Tire and Rim Assoc Manual but below is a 2016 ETRTO extract for passenger vehicles. ETRTO-2016-Approved-Rims.pdf Have fun. 👍

    >>>>> This is what I work off. From a tyre site. <<<<<< Image removed so people don't use it. See below for issues with it. The correct Tyre/Rim combos is in the link is below.
  15. As I'm reading I see some people swapping sensors such as the MAP for a 5 bar or changing their low pressure fuel pump for a RS3 unit with a different controller. I understand the controllers are PWM devices. Would anyone know if this is done by coding (eg VCDS or OBD11) or programing (eg Cobb etc where they overwrite a table) ? Thanks
  16. JR, How do you know all this?
  17. This takes me back to 1987 organisational theory at university. Do you believe in McGregor theory X or Y? One is based on the idea that people are intrinsically lazy, lie and do the bare minimum. The other is people are honest, hardworking and will try to do the right thing. How you act is based on your perception. Do you believe that all dealers and their employees are dishonest? Then it doesn't matter what they tell you. Do you know which dealers are the honest ones and which ones lie? if not, you have a problem. If it were me I wouldn't ask about the DSG. Based on the above they should be able to give you a printout of its service history. If the history is just date and service you've got a problem. If they can actually print out the individual work orders for each service then get a printout and check. And keep it for your records. Personally I don't think they will directly lie to you if you ask a direct question. So if you ask them I think they would tell you.
  18. Non-adjustable will never keep everyone happy. I think it needs a race setting.
  19. But then I couldn't compare to RS's measurements. It would appear that the 162 with DCC is the same height as the 206 with DCC at 690mm.
  20. I measured my Sportsline with DCC front wheel arch at 690mm
  21. Can you do a system save / backup prior to changes?
  22. I've logged on to Erwin and can find my vehicle through a VIN. It has build and delivery information but nothing else. How do you find Australian DISS records?
  23. Is there an Aus site handling the log books? What does QI1, QI2, QI3, QI4 mean? Does the above mean that your doing something every 2500km
