  1. What I don't like is that even Toyota have pushed the boat in terms of a small fast hatchback, That Yaris GR is 257bhp out of the box(although it will cost you 30k).
  2. 1.8 20v turbo manual fabia mk2 has been done & is currently getting changed to 4 wheel drive. I do agree about the reliability of the mk2 VRS however IMO a well looked after and well tuned mk2 VRS will blitz the mk1 vrs. When I first bought my mk2 vrs I hadn't seen many push over 260-280bhp,in the space of 3 years that bars been massively lifted and parts are ready available to hit 500+bhp albeit you'll need deep pockets. I've spoke to others many a time about how skoda missed a trick by not putting even the 1.8 polo gti engine in the fabia…...Money talks
  3. Paid £100 for one similar to the picture above, It lasted a year but the first bad winter up here destroyed it. We ended up just building our own , Probably about £1200 painted, Nothing special but it sure is solid! P.s the decking was there before hand we just added the pergola & bar.
  4. Thanks mate, Its the side skirts I'm after & looking to put them on the mk2. Looking around £180 for the pair second hand.
  5. Cheers mate. Any difference in length between those and the hatch version? My search begins!
  6. Are these just the standard monte carlo side skirts? Thanks
  7. 00816 refers to the G250 sensor, This most likely needs replacing.
  8. Am I correct in saying that half a second slower than the 2019 model? I wish VW would just sell Skoda and move on or stop leaving it at the bottom of the pile.
  9. They do just peel off as said above, Heat them correctly and you wont damage the paint, A hairdryer,Auto Glym Tar/bug/film remover, plastic pry tool and a bit of fishing gut and they'll come off no probs.
  10. Would not advise to put any additives into your oil, These cars are delicate enough....Any decent grade 5w30/5w40 will see you fine Yes, The norm is to change the 2 auxiliary belts when changing your water pump, Both can be purchased for less than £20. Fairly easy job to change over the belts albeit tight and you need to loosen belt tensioners.etc. Only go with the recommended plus and coils, Don't trust a garage to put plugs in the car as 99% they are the wrong plugs. Plugs/coils are the main issue, these engines eat them and as for injectors....Never really been an issue on these, Oil jets/squinters yeah but injectors not really. In theory it should work, I wouldn't bother, Carbon clean is quite a big job on these for the proposed result. An oil catch can will do the same job. The problem with these is the water pump is located beside the chain, Its hard to differentiate between the noise of the water pump & the chain if there's a problem, early signs of a stretched/damaged chain would be the car effectively skipping a beat under power ie it would feel like a fuel issue and the car would be hesitant, again another big job to replace the chain.
  11. It really depends how long the last fluid was in there, Baring in mind steering fluid goes to your steering rack and back again when pumped, Over time it can end up contaminated through contact with the rack and pinion or it could simply have moisture or little source of water getting in changing the colour. My bet is that been contaminated in some form of the process of fixing your steering issues, I wouldn't worry about if you've got new fluid in there. Also good to hear your cars running well again!
  12. Seen this a few times before with the steering pump on its way out.
  13. I think I was £500 for engine and ecu, I sat there and Christoz(Uk shop manager) went through every fine deal of what he was doing and what values meant what, he explained future mods etc, about a dozen of us all met up at costa coffee before remapping with the RTMG guys and made a day off it.
  14. RTMG Sheffield. Hands down the most knowledgeable company I know of who deal with 1.4tfsi engines. Tuning boxes are ticking time bomb IMO.
  15. Quite a few have stopped and never started again🤣 Skoda's hidden feature.
  16. Literally none on the market for our car, Needs to be a DIY job.
  17. Yeah, have a look inside your door sills, mine was filled with that noise reducing foam in plastic bags.
  18. Yeah, Unfortunately yesterdays weather took its toll on mine too. Certainly looks as you described and looks like a torx to get out the lower mechanism. part number is - 5J0857702B and is looking around £60 on ebay.
  19. Usually if you shop around you can get a discount code somewhere online or if lucky enough the website will have a sale on. I usually pay between £15-20 for the above shell oil when it’s on sale, it’s a bit cheaper Here on eBay with free delivery I do less miles than you a year and stick to one service a year and I’ve never had any oil issues, There’s loads of variants to choose from when choosing oil and people can be fussy however to me if it’s a named brand, a good price and the correct weight for my car I’ll happily use it.
  20. Exactly mate, held on with a few clips,
  21. You can buy either of the two mate, easier to buy the full caps with the sticker on them already
  22. 56mm I believe the wheel caps are.
  23. Couple of quid from ebay/AliExpress for the chrome ones.
  24. Thanks all. £30 the Auto electrician charged me to solder the wires and I took him 45 mins, All is good for now although he did let me know that my rear drivers side door wasn't locking😩. The lock mechanism is clicking away but the door wont actually lock which makes me believe the latch may need adjusted, a job for the weekend. Thanks for the offer of the part @UrbanPanzer ,Hopefully that it sorted for now. Its daft to think that some fabias as young as 6 years old don't have electric windows, they really tried to push pennies out of buyers. Mine was supposed to be a "ex demo car"...If so they sure did scrimp on they're demo cars too.
  25. Waiting on a message back from an auto electrician, I'll let you know ASAP. Thanks
