  1. Fuel wouldn't cause any issues no. As for the whistling, a completely standard 1.4 tsi you should only mildly hear the supercharger.

You’ll be looking close to or over 2 grand rebuilding it yourself if you don’t have the tools at your disposal.Worst case scenario can you make your money back selling it spares or stripping it?I’d personally start stripping it and see the extend of damage first mate, then go from there and see where your at and calculate the damage to the body into the matter. Can put you onto a few bodys that have rebuilt these blocks if need be.
  3. Have fitted a universal(chinese) one myself, does require an extra bit of mounting to the crash bar however it was pretty simple. Works fine for £70
  4. I know its a bit more money but a lot les hassle when you have the engine stripped, Would you not replace some of the revised CTHE parts ie the oil jets/squirters of your planning to keep the car.
  5. Yeah mate they are adaption settings for when installing anything to to with transmission ie clutch, mechatronic or even a new box. There's a few perks to having VCDS as you can change the power steering sensitivity, turn of XDS braking system for track days etc and having the ability to code in a new or used mechatronic.
  6. Are you basing this on video's you seen YouTube or the proper adaption settings when fitting a new clutch or mechatronic that are done through VCDS OR odis? Only way to change how the way the TCU shifts automatically is to get is mapped(which I would recommend). Other than that, Just drive it in manual mode.
  7. You said it feels like its going to stall, You sure it isn't running lumpy ie misfiring?
  8. Always believed that a lot of water pump issues are temp/weather related, changes in seasons. In the years owning mine the amount of water pumps that have went close or during winter are unreal. Possibly affecting the bearing. Might be the pump that's gone again or as you said a leaky hose and your only losing coolant under load. Fire a bit of carboard under your car during the night to check for leaks and if there's nothing visible id suspect your losing it during momentum. Head gaskets are so uncommon with these I wouldn't even consider it.
  9. I'll kick off the positive vibes..... I've had mine over 4 and a half years and apart from wear and tear parts I've had to replace: Water pump Radiator Pcv(n75 valve) Literally less than £200 in parts in 4 years it owes me, Cant grumble at all. Now i'll not be naïve and pretend they don't have issues or have a reputation of having issues because they do deserve that however if you know what to look for and find a good one.......Learn how they work and look after it they are more than reliable. 80k(130km) miles isn't a lot as I've seen proof of these doing double that mileage but I'd be looking at replacing the chain on TSI at 80k if it hasn't been done already. Personally I service mine yearly no matter the mileage, changed the DSG oil at 50k for piece of mind albeit there's the argument it never needs done but each to their own. Running a stage 2 engine map for almost 3 years now the car has been flawless even on the standard clutch, @thomasaspin Will vouch for the modifying side of things as he's put more power through is than mine.

  12. Yep with no hassle as long as you keep the profile 45 or under on the tyre.
  13. Supercharger no, But it can be deleted and one massive turbo if you want to go that far. For the turbo RTMG are the go to for bolt on however you pretty much fit any big turbo if you know someone who could fabricate it to the OEM turbo manifold as this comes as the one unit as standard. 400+ bhp builds abroad are running GTX 2860 GEN 2 turbo's with one 1.4 tsi managing to make 500bhp on the standard box💥. Bare in mind you'll need a turbo mapped in.
  14. I'm currently building a PC rig, After purchasing a Z690 board they announce AM5 is on the way. I'll be brutally honest mate, Even when standard these cars are awful when it comes to the ride comfort, A mixture of low profile tyres, heavy standard alloys and a a crap suspension set up. You could literally spend thousands and the ride would still be harsh albeit maybe not as bad as standard.
  15. Pop the lower plastic trim off and uncover the seat belt mech, Spray it with some WD40 as it’ll be catching, should do the trick. Mines tends to start sticking in the hotter weather.
  16. 15's will work but albeit they will look like your running on buttons. The problem with the MK2 is that its not just the heavy standard giggaro alloys wheels that are the issue but every part of the suspension components are **** and offer a harsh ride. What tyre's are you running? I found running lighter wheels and softer pilot sport 4's felt a good bit better than the previous kumho's I ran.

  20. Shouldn’t take any garage more than an hour or so mate when the cars off the deck, shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg. Then it’s just a case of filling it back up with a litre of said hydraulic oil. Most likely whoever done your mech work thought the sump gasket/seal was fine to use again, The mech needs the hydraulic oil to for the accumulator to work so over time you should see problem worsen if not fixed.
