  1. Changed, but still comes up as a misspelling.
  2. Since when? There is a known issue with brake fluid being hygroscopic yes, but that is that the absorbed water lowers the eventual boiling point of the system.
  3. Easy answer again; they wouldn't.
  4. Well, a Skoda is "simply more clever" than that, and bases its calculations on how it's been driven over the last tankful.
  5. @Midoutn - Depending on where you park and live, "warming up" could be performed by getting out of a driveway/car park and out of town at or below peak torque (guess at 1_800 rpm), maybe 5 minutes from engine start. "Cool down" with a diesel could be the reverse, but no need to idle it for several minutes.
  6. @hirez - I've never heard of a turbolader requiring scheduled service, right back to the Saab 99 and BMW 2002 Turbo models.
  7. There are a number of possible factors here. What engine is this? Your driving style. Where you drive. If you fill to the click, and Skoda's computed range is based on the design tank volume your fuel load could be as much as 2 gallons less than they've used. You're comparing a real world figure with a range computed using formal test data.
  8. Quite probably.
  9. I shall, I shall. However, as I am not USian, I shall repeat. Where is the sulphur to make the hydrogen sulphide coming from? Not from the desulphinated fuel obtained from a UK filling station I think.
  10. I wonder; just how does a dodgy cat produce sulphur, in order to produce hydrogen sulphide?
  11. @Winterwolf - The only way to be sure about exact paint codes is to get the prospective donor's chassis number and check the paint code that returns against the code for your car.
  12. !!? Since when do road wheels not go round when a vehicle is in motion?
  13. Different road wheels, and transmissions.
  14. He's got more torque, less drivetrain drag, and a lighter vehicle (in particular a lower reciprocating mass).
  15. As upthread, this could be the satellites being occluded by buildings. It's less clear why the system doesn't lock them up properly when it has line of sight again.
  16. Outside temperature or demand temperature?
  17. Most people just buy the right length ones in a shop or a service station.
  18. How worn? Well worn tyres are noisier than new ones of the same exact model.
  19. I don't think this can be done, because you won't have or readily get (short of an IVA) a Euro 4 or later engine rating.
  20. 3. Which engine is this? FWIW the standard intake on the 1.9TDi isn't restrictive with an engine remapped to 180BHP. 4. I don't think that's a standard VAG part. The receiver for a VAG plip is a plastic truncated cone beside the rear mirror and interior light.
  21. Ok, after reading this in full, I think you may have the Recirc flap stuck in Recirc mode. Not sure how to fix that beyond that it definitely needs access to the heater box.
  22. No, because the Solar Summer starts on May 1st, the Astronomical Summer today, and the Meteorological Summer on June 1st.
  23. OK, if you press the fan speed +/- buttons or the Demist button, does the demand fan speed shown on the display change? (Probably to 6/7 in Demist). You also say the Recirc button doesn't work. Does that seem to be stuck in external mode or Recirc mode?
  24. Did you prime the new pump with fresh oil?
  25. In which case you might get an improvement just from new same make/model tyres, and more from a different make.
