  1. I don't know about SW Larndarn, but it is/was possible to find secondary schools and/or FE colleges in most of the UK that ran car maintenance evening classes.
  2. Well, that makes me suspect a leaky condenser, but I can't be certain without knowing what pressure you're getting in test conditions. Your service manual table is meaningless unless the system is in the correct test condition when the pressure is measured.
  3. MBF - You can get error codes which don't also throw warning lights.
  4. Wrong! Impedance refers to how easy (hard) it is to pass a current through a cable (or indeed a wire), regardless of whether it is alternating, direct, or indeed 3-phase current.
  5. According to BBC website, this was "not a mistake".
  6. That makes sense. Tall buildings (relative term; 3 or 4 stories a few feet from the carriageway can be tall) can also do this.
  7. In other words, Skoda have been "simply clever" and fitted cars with a technology that simply doesn't exist everywhere.
  8. If you don't have weight on wheels you can put an unneeded torque into the lower damper bush.
  9. I'd try resyncing first, as being way cheaper.
  10. I see you're fae Embra. Furry boots do these signal loses happen? I've got an idea what it may be but I need to know where it happens first.
  11. As @freemansteve says, it's probably a fuse or a pulled connection. If the CitiGo is like other VAG cars, some of the fuses are just above the battery rather than in the dashboard fusebox.
  12. I'd guess this is because Ramair look badly at their staff saying "because it doesn't sell" or even "because it doesn't work" to prospective customers.
  13. Well, I've never done this, but it is necessary to have weight on wheels before torqueing the lower damper bolt.
  14. It's also possible that you have internal damage to one or both RH tyre carcasses. Being certain whether you do or not requires unmounting the tyres and doing an internal inspection.
  15. No idea what this even means. The catalytic converter is a platinum/rhodium alloy deposited on a breathable ceramic matrix, isn't coming out the exhaust easily, and if removed will fail a UK MoT on emissions. Actually, so will failed lambda sensors.
  16. Like @sepulchrave I'm pretty sure this is oil being sucked past the inlet valve stem oil seals on overrun.
  17. Yes and quite possibly. Probably the bit where copper grease goes on the pad back plates, between the back plate and the caliper/piston.
  18. According to Wikipedia, discontinued in 2014.
  19. Somehow I don't believe that you do know the speed limit at all times, since you didn't know that a speed limit can change without the new limit being signposted. (Hint, the existence or otherwise of a 30mph limit is dependent on the existence or otherwise of lamp posts, and on their separation where they exist).
  20. That's not going to stop someone drilling a (plastic) front bumper.
  21. Do you know what the speed limit is at all times? Did you know that the speed limit on a road can change without the change being signposted?
  22. Obvious really; it's the only window with one touch operation. I can't see why the mechanic felt that worthy of mention.
  23. Also @Aviii Er "Kormoran" is German for "Cormorant". Odd name for a French company to use.
