  1. You may well need a new door loom, but the first step is definitely to diagnose what the fault actually is.
  2. Or the door bellows wiring. You need to continuity test the wires to check this And read the fault codes to diagnose an intermittent EPC Now this is a trickier one. It could be wiring in the seat base since it detects "weight on seat", or in the relevant belt stalk since that detects "buckle in catch". Can you replicate the "fault" by fastening the belt over the seat and then sitting in the seat?
  3. No-one who does not have direct access to the car is going to spot a problem like that; a regular driver or any competent mechanic should do so.
  4. Yeah, if you don't actually know what they are and can't find size info cast into the wheel rim, you're going to need to post a picture of a wheel to give people a fighting chance of finding the actual model.
  5. No they're not; the Fabia mk1 was never supplied with standard wheels above 16" diameter. If they're a standard or optional VAG alloy wheel, a reference like "17x6.5JET42" will be cast into them.
  6. Correct; they use the same fluid reservoir. Now go and use "bleeding brakes Skoda Octavia" as a search string on Youtube.
  7. Try giving the screenwash bottle a sharp tap, in case the float is stuck down.
  8. Yes, or No, or Maybe. You haven't stated the width or offset of these wheels, and I'm only presuming them to be 17" diameter from the tyre size you're quoting.
  9. Sort of. Yes, I have seen frost forming on external LPG tanks, without there being a visible ground frost at the time. That said, the pressure in said tanks was falling (slowly but steadily) as we burned the gas in heaters in our site office.
  10. You can pull the wheel arches, which needs a bit of skill to look OK, but is exactly what it sounds like.
  11. If you just want "exciting", sell the Skoda, learn to ride, and buy a motorcycle.
  12. Well, one method is to fill them with something other than refrigerant, butane is common (and also potentially turns your car into a rolling bomb).
  13. Wrong. Skoda Auto are registered in Czeckia, SUK in the UK. I can't be bothered with the messing around with Companies House to confirm whether or not SUK are a subsidiary of Skoda auto (or indeed any other part of VAG) but importers often aren't. In any event, how does any advantage accrue to either of them because you pay a fee to a third party?
  14. And? The air con will dehumidify wet air when it's running, and will often blow warm but not hot when the air temperature is cool.
  15. Doing this is illegal. In any event you can get a regas from a mobile service for around £70.
  16. No idea. Where you were holding the wheel makes a difference as to whether your tested for play in the wheel bearings or the track rod ends.
  17. No idea, but I'd check the alternator manufacturer's part numbers for both engines, not least because they may both use the same output alternator.
  18. Who are you saying are ripping you off here? SUK, Skoda Auto or your bank?
  19. As others, you're in "trip average speed" mode but haven't actually gone anywhere in the last 2 hours. You'll probably find a double ended push to make rocker switch on the end of the wiper stalk to switch modes, and a RESET button on the bottom of same stalk.
  20. Odds are they'll have a jump pack, or a cludge involving several batteries in parallel that they use to demonstrate that horns, electric motors and the like do work before/at time of purchase.
  21. Save your money; you need to add more air as well as more fuel to make more power, and there's no mechanism for adding more air on the non-turbo SDi.
  22. Exactly; I'm pleased someone else knows this.
  23. You should be able to get your IBAN and BIC codes off your last bank statement. If SUK can't supply the relevant codes for Skoda Auto in Czechia then they "may" be missing a letter "c"...
  24. Well, my local garage does this to stop it draining the battery when they leave the car engine off, ignition on during service.
