PM to SashaGrace, at least if you're prepared to come out of the SUV ghetto.
  2. Your local HSE office - HSE offices - North West
  3. That sounds like "dieseling", where the engine is burning a mixture of fuel and engine oil. Check the oil level, which I think will be low. If it is, then you probably need new valve stem oil seals and/or a new turbo. :-(
  4. Likewise. Look on the Octavia guides forum for "Mr Muscle fix".
  5. I think this may be a bad idea if the car has standard side airbags. That said, I'd also question your employer's attention to health and safety if you're being allowed to go home in clothes permeated with blasting grit.
  6. Which is it? Cheap or will you just call Agra Engineering?
  7. Yes, and if you're thinking that way, I recommend finding a proper auto electrician, and not going to West End or Arnold Shark.
  8. It would be really good if their circuit maps would stay still for more than 5s!
  9. I'd strongly suspect the wiring in the driver's door bellows, and it needs a proper continuity check, not just a look see.
  10. @Pagan-Image - I'm not sure what the Vitesse suspension has to do with problems with the automatic transmission and/or the power steering? My point was that the car wasn't that well built.
  11. Well:- It's based on reading the software, not empirical observations of a petrol engine car with a different warm up profile. Since I'm just reading software, I'm not making assumptions about the calibration of sensors.
  12. The only experience I had with an 800 was of a "dealer queen", that had spent 6 months out of 8 since first registration in the dealership...
  13. I was wondering about the PCV, or possibly the head gasket. Do you have either coolant loss or a rising oil level in the sump?
  14. See the ellipsis (...) top right of your post? Hover over it, and you get a green background, and a yellowish "edit" tool tip. Click on it and you get the options "edit", "report" and "share", at least for the first hour after making the posting. After this, you lose the "edit" option unless you have a Freedom membership.
  15. Kewel. To be entirely clear, I'd consider a new integral slave with a clutch to be "good preventive maintenance" like changing the water pump with the cam belt on cars where the water pump is driven off the cam belt is.
  16. !!? Why? A new integral slave I could understand when the bellhousing is open anyway, but a master?
  17. Pretty much so yeah. His weekend off seems to have done the Tidy One some good, in that he's not causing shunts that ruin other people's weekends atm.
  18. Relevant wording highlighted.
  19. Yeah; don't know what pace you made through there on the old Bridgestones but you were catching the guy in front.
  20. Not the ball hitch; muck in the electrics plug senting a false signal that there's a trailer in tow.
  21. Drink real coffee, and not "coffee flavoured drinks". Beyond that, someone is going to have to take the relevant ducts (and probably half the fascia) apart.
  22. They've closed the high street shops, but still exist as an e-tailer.
  23. Well yes, but that is my objection to all semi-automated driving features, like the "emergency brake assist" that can't tell a toddler from a crisp packet!
