  1. The worst temperature all these 24 years for my Felicia was one day only at -4,5 'C in the year 2002 if i remember correct. Today i had a 200 Km trip, half in Mountain Routes and half in Highway (speed 100-120), the needle never touched the 90 'C line in the dashboard gauge, i don't have overheating problems, just that ''concern of mine" in Cold start.
  2. @hzoltaan What gear oil are you using now? Have you ever use an additive like this? https://www.liqui-moly.com/en/pro-line-getriebeoel-additiv-p000070.html#5198 https://www.liqui-moly.com/en/mos2-antifriction-for-gears-p000009.html#tab-label-description-title
  3. If you had 30% G11 and 70% distilled water you could face lubrication and corrosion problems? I think the minimum requirement is 20% antifreeze and covers till -8 'C. I have the assumption that if i have more antifreeze in my coolant (now it's too ''weak'') the engine will get hotter one click faster and will reach the 92 'C sooner than now. I don't know if this is right or wrong, thus i am asking.
  4. @Rooted My primary concern is in Cold start which of the 4 combinations will reach first the 92 'C Watter Wetter says "Improves heat transfer and reduces cylinder head temperature" but in small routes in City i don't think i have that issue. @Warrior193 I never liked that 50-50 ratio, some drivers (which don't like to search things) and even some mechanics-seller promote it.
  5. Some drivers here although live in hot climate use the 50% ,is there really need for this?
  6. As we say here "you will pay this later". In this case (50% mixture) the radiator fan will work more often for example in city traffic compared to 20% in a hot climate?
  7. The 50% concentration mixture from the first turn of the key in the morning (environment temperature) will reach the 92 'C first?
  8. Coolants and Their Application https://lairdthermal.com/thermal-technical-library/application-notes/common-coolant-types-and-their-uses-liquid-cooling-systems Water with Ethylene Glycol Cons: Reduced heat transfer efficiency compared to pure water.
  9. I am on leave, in few days i will return home, i will change the water expansion plastic can and i will raise the antifreeze at least in 40% presentance (now it's 20%) to see if there is an effect in the time that the temperature reach the 92 'C.
  10. I am in my old parents house far away from mine, i have with me only my phone, no proper equipment or time to do experiments or calculations. Thank you for your help.
  11. For me which combination will reach first the 92 'C matters. Felicia came here with Green (G11), the manual says VW TL 774 C although some put G12 even G13.
  12. @Rooted actually it's not 100 'C but around 92 'C, at this point (reading the red needle) my thermostat opens for 1st time. Has to do whith my Cold starts process, i think that the less antifreeze excists the more time needs to reach that point but other members maybe know better. I am on a trip now, when i return home i want to change the percentage of the G11 in my current coolant as an experiment.
  13. First time asking that specific question, it's not about the role of antifreeze etc. It's crucial to know which of the 20-30-50% mixtures will reach the 100 'C first.
  14. Gentlemen, i don't have the proper equipment to do the experiment so i am asking if a fellow Skodian member knows Chemistry far better than me. let's say that we have G11 antifreeze and 4 big boiling tubes-flasks or 4 big glass cans and inside there is: In 1st pure distilled water, in 2nd distilled water and 20% antifreeze, in 3rd distilled water and 30% antifreeze and in 4th distilled water and 50% antifreeze. We turn slowly the same heat source below to all 4 tubes-flasks (or glass cans), here is an example We measure by clock: 1) the time that each mixture will reach the 100 °C (then we remove it) 2) the time that each mixture after the 100 °C will cool till environment temperature. I don't care which of the 2nd,3rd,4rth will reach it's maximum point, i care only till 100 °C. According to your knowledge and experience what could be the results? Which of the 4 will reach the preset temperature first and which of 4 of them will cool faster?
  15. In the 1:00 of the video something is not working properly. Fancy but imagine to have to shut-down the engine immediately and start "click and click" and the engine won't turn off what's going to happen?
  16. The cost here in GR varies from 12,00 € the most simple till 52,00 € ,the most expensive has remote controls.
  17. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/359108-heater-blower-problem/ I hope this will help a bit.
  18. 102'C and the radiator fan still is Off? and then starts at 100 'C and you find this ''super effective" ?
  19. In ancient Greece there was a wisdom, «Ουδέν κακόν αμιγές καλού» translated is "there is no Bad that does not give rise to some Good" which means practically that when a bad thing happens (damage) it's a chance to improvise to make another good thing". So i grab the chance and when i removed the wiper motor, i cleaned the area, opened another 2 draining holes (already had 2), put some insulation, close 2 holes from the licence's plate screws (i have magnetic now), take care some cables and put a new thicker nylon as protection behind the factory wooden 5th door cover (drives water drops to the holes).
  20. I bought a Window Glass Cleaning (Squeegee Blade Wiper) just for the car, i will try it for few days. I also have one spare (with sponge) in work and from time to time i was cleaning the rear windshield, i was never ''impressed'' from the cleaning of the factory wiper although i have to admit that is much larger than other cars.
  21. I remember the Max Power UK magazine, back in the 1999 i start buying it because i wanted to learn more about car modifications. There i saw the only one front wiper, here is an example:
  22. I remember that in your car is higher than mine (fuel consumption deleted topic) while moving and was close to 100 (acceleration to 120 km video).
