Engine cover, do we really need it?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI removed that plastic cover today, i had to make an experiment. This is the parts code in case that someone may needed in the future. I also noticed this prominence inside, i didn't want this to end-up inside the throttle so i remove it. More about the experiment (..which failed) soon.

Felicia fuel tank capacity and TC-6 measurements
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanNo problem @Papez , i mention this for informational purposes only, due to this ''uncorrection'' someone can show lower fuel consumption numbers (which is not my intention). 237,3 Km when the tank was full. Here is the current situation, Average % This is the Total Σ and for 42 ltr tank this is the remain kilometres, till the new correction the result is 11,1 ltr / 100 Km (or 25.45 British MPG) fuel consumption in hard City Traffic.

Felicia fuel tank capacity and TC-6 measurements
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI remember that @Papez said in other topic about the TC-6: I have the TC-6 for about 2 years and i have to disagree with that, not totally but in a specific point. In Total (with the symbol Σ) and in the remaining kilometres with the gasoline that it's left in the tank (with the symbol > 📳 ) there is a difference of 1 ltr from the reality. Although there is a calibration function and i have it in the maximum (its +7) but that difference can not be zeroed. Since the TC-6 works together with the factory float i don't know if that 1lt maximum difference is because after switching Off the car when parked the gasoline in the tank isn't immediately ''calm'' or the inclination of the ground (uphill-downhill) cause this. I will post photos soon as a proof.

What causes the engine not to start after airbag deployment? I was in an accident which deployed all of my airbags besides the steering wheel (2013 Honda Civic). https://www.quora.com/What-causes-the-engine-not-to-start-after-airbag-deployment-I-was-in-an-accident-which-deployed-all-of-my-airbags-besides-the-steering-wheel-2013-Honda-Civic I'm sorry to hear about your accident. After an airbag deployment, the engine not starting could be caused by a variety of factors. One possible reason is that the impact of the accident may have caused damage to the vehicle's electrical system or fuel system, preventing the engine from starting. It's also possible that the airbag deployment itself may have triggered a safety feature that disables the engine to prevent further damage. I would recommend having a qualified mechanic inspect your vehicle to determine the exact cause of the issue. This is normal for many systems. when you go to start your car normally as soon as you turn the key to on the pump runs for a second or so. Once you turn the key to start and the engine turns the pump comes on again and stays on as longs as the engine is turning. in an accident there is a possibility of a ruptured fuel line. Spilled fuel can lead to a fire. This is considered not good. So to prevent the possibility of pumping gas all over the place and risking a fire the system will shut off the pump and in some systems disable the ability to crank the engine.

I meant that some Skoda parts (as oil filter) fits to some older Ford models (i still have one, says Felicia and Mondeo i think on the label). First time i heard about the "similarity" in brakes was before 20+ years in a Brake repair shop. I wonder @ivcars003 has done any progress?

1) I also said that i haven't never read-heard for such switch plus i mention that in CZ i haven't find such thing. 2) You said that in an older post here plus i have found that some Skoda parts as engine oil filter-brake caliper in e-part stores have a Ford model refference on their cardboard box.

No offence but Ford has made some things for Skoda, even the codes from some parts match. On the other hand at 2019: https://www.cbsnews.com/detroit/news/ford-vw-announce-a-global-partnership/ DETROIT (CBS Detroit/ AP) - After Tuesday's conference call, Ford Motor Company, and Volkswagen announced they are forming a global alliance to develop medium-sized pickups and commercial vans and explore broader cooperation on future battery-powered and autonomous vehicles. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/feu/en/news/2020/06/10/Ford-Volkswagen-Sign-Agreements.html

@Stonekeeper We read about the cameras in UK but ''we are still behind" in this matter. The Traffic Police isn't so strict as in USA, if you do something wrong but it's not serious (no damages, no danger to other drivers etc) and you have a good excuse they let you go without a fine. Also they are not so thoroughly in traffic stops about inspections i.e tinted windows or Led lights (if you are not exaggerate), they know but in purpose they don't say you nothing. Till 2021 there was a 50% discount in the fine i.e parking ticket if was paid within the first 10 days, now the fine is less but not discount.

@Stonekeeper Same in GR but especially in country the Traffic Police isn't so ''by the book'', it's a bit ''elastic" as we say here.

Engine bay surprises
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanYou don't work plus you are not doing my job, a delay can cause problems. Humanity is about Humans (only), i grew-up in country with cats-dogs-goats-birds etc and i know much better than others. All i said to people is that there will be a solution and i can not wait for hours for the cat to decide when it's time to leave, the cat was not among the wheels so i raised the hood and that's it. I didn't start the engine, that could drive the cat to jump left-right and hurt or die, i am not heartless and i didn't want damages plus blood in my engine.

Even if you are crossing foe seconds the EL (some times even the white dividing lane) for example to make an overtake to a annoying slow vehicle you can get a fine, in the second case it's often unfair but that's the Law. If the Cop sees you and stops you he can ignore your excuse.

Skoda Felicia Understeer
Here is 200 euro fine, 9 points on the System, the Policeman removes at once your license plates and your driving licence. You can take them both back after 60 days. In case of recurrence, within 6 months of the first offense, the driver's license is withdrawn for twice the period (120 days) and the offender is required to undergo the examination for its reissuance.

Koni Street rebuild.
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanFrom the tyres squeal i can understand in curbs when the tyre reach it's limits. Matador: OE, out of the question Michelin: Soft, lot of squeal from the beginning of the curb, very annoying especially and in long Mountain Routes Bridgestone: Tough, they squeal only when they reached their limit, if i was insist pushing things then the understeer (and intense one) was coming in the next seconds Toyo: Medium, a little squeal but when this get's stronger i have to slow down.

Engine bay surprises
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanAnother Engine Bay Surprise, Cats. 1) I was passing buy my parked car when i saw a note on the wind-shield that there is a cat beneath my car, i stopped looked down but saw nothing, then i heard the meowing coming from the engine bay. Due to cold conditions of hidden from dogs a cat was inside, i pull the lever, press the button and raised the hood while in purpose i was on the side and of course the cat popped-up like a rocket, made a quick inspection no cables scratched or any other damage. 2) Some years later i was going to take my car for work when i saw some people gathered in front of my car, i said ''Oh no, accident" but when i get close they told me that there was a cat trapped and do not move it, i explain them that i can not stand all day and i had to go to work, they insisted that i must stay there till the cat goes away, i said to them ''Forget it, i have to go", they start shouting but my final answer was ''NO". I looked beneath and there was no cat so it must be inside the engine day, i said to them that i will raise the hood so they can reach the cat by their own responsibility, so it happened, was a kitten and fortunately no damages. Maybe the Kittens like the smell of my 10W-40 Synthetic oil, i can not explain it otherwise. 😄
