''Sport'' Mufflers, do they worth the cost?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI think i will lose torque in low-medium rpm and i will have some noise more. I have changed the catalytic converter in the past with a metallic one, some gain in high rpm but i lost it from the medium. Very few do this here but in case that will stop you by Traffic Police for suddenly inspection of emissions and noise...''you are done".

Modification in my 14" wheels, is it safe?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanGentlemen, i asked 2 mechanics so far, the one said NO and the other said that the cost of the work would be equal to a cost of 4 new wheels. In iron wheels many things can be done. The majority of drivers in forums that i have asked said the same, NO because is aluminium and soon or later the ''crack'' will show-up. On the other hand someone said to buy a set of 4 new iron wheels and go to a Water Jet machine to make me some ''artistic work'' but in my mind came this video: It's a very controversial matter and very risky.

Skoda Felicia hood scoop?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanOne of my ideas is to remove that factory seal and go to a repair-shop to make for me an oval shape metal ''lip'' (wider that the original) to cover the plastic oval ''nest'' of the sponge filter, will go down few cm further. Also to cut the original ''lip'' and make it bigger but if i make it wider wouldn't be good or this will change the pressure of the incoming air dramatically? The blower inside would be ''happy'' with more quantity of air?

Skoda Felicia hood scoop?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI have post them in the past, here is mine: I always wondering why the metallic lip (that brings the air inside) is much smaller that the size of the sponge. If i make it wider wouldn't be good or this will change the pressure of the incoming air? The blower inside would be ''happy'' with more quantity of air?

Skoda Felicia hood scoop?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI don't know how good it does it but the metallic lip not only does not touches the sponge (no marks on it) but does not touch even the metal mesh that i put to stop leaves-bugs etc. As you can see the mesh is untouchable. Which means if there is a space between the hood and the seal (of the cabin filter) then dirty air comes through inside the cabin.

Skoda Felicia hood scoop?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanThat's why i have made some thoughts here: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/491645-can-i-make-a-modification-to-my-felicia-13-filter-case/?do=findComment&comment=5759492 After the "sealing" procces it's time to think about the scoop mainly as cover (water, hairs etc).

Skoda Felicia hood scoop?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanMy cabin filter is a charcoal sponge ,every time is raining or i go to a car wash it's gets wet. That's among other problems that i had with it. The metallic lip that brings fresh air from the hood's grille has a gap of 3-4 cm and does not touch that sponge so from that gap odours from the engine bay ''hit'' all day that sponge and pass through it inside the cabin. When i press the Recycle button i feel that the blower gets air from the cabin and push it outside through that filter and my concern is: with that scoop above would be capable to soak or push the air easily or this scoop will make things tougher? I want to put a small scoop to protect the ''cabin filter'', it's not like Muscle Cars that wated air from the hood to ''hit'' their air filter or like Subaru WRX STI which want that air for their radiator.

Skoda Felicia hood scoop?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI need the incoming air from the hood, otherwise how the blower (heat and a/c) will work? The problem is that with the environment air, water (rain-car wash) plus some other things coming inside (bugs, leaves, tree branches etc) and landing on the sponge and the existing mesh of the grill is not enough. The idea behind a small scoop is that will provide some sort of extra protection from rain-car wash plus air debris. Not something fancy as the WRX or 60's muscle car had but something like these examples: On the other hand i don't know if the curb of the scoop will not let the blower to ''soak'' air as it should be and force him to ''push itself''.

Skoda Felicia hood scoop?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanMy problem isn't the space, i have plenty of it. The fresh air from the hood does not reach the top of the sponge (''cabin filter'') and has a gap which is filled with bad smells from the engine bay. The system is not sealed and dirty air comes into the cabin.

Skoda Felicia hood scoop?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI copy that idea from Autobianchi which had a scoop on the hood and a much more wider space for ''cabin filter''.

Skoda Felicia hood scoop?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanI wonder, a ''low-profile'' hood scoop like this can create problems to the radiator of the a/c? Can soak air thought this? As you know beneath that scoop is the factory grille and the metal lip that drives outside air to the cabin filter and i am trying to find a way to cover that grille so water from rain or car washing won't get inside that filter.

Brake line adapters
In the past i needed one adapter for an oil oressure gauge and what's the quickest way? A guy with a lathe machine which can custom fix anything, i went and in few minutes i had it in my hands.

Can i make a modification to my Felicia 1.3 filter case?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanThat's the 2nd and the 5th solution but what's going to happen with the rain-car wash water drops which will inevitably fall inside? I am concern about the time that the ''natural dry'' will take. The plastic scuttle in Felicia does not provide air, it's away from the cabin filter (in Octavia 1U it covers it) https://www.briskoda.net/forums/uploads/monthly_11_2016/post-132001-0-03211800-1479035440.jpg beneath are the drain grooves which must be take care of from leaves and other dirt, we clean them with compressed air.

Can i make a modification to my Felicia 1.3 filter case?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanThere is almost 2 cm empty space and the result is that odours from the engine pass through the sponge into the cabin. Why that space must exist? Wouldn't be better if i ''seal'' the whole system? Think in the other car of yours, the pollen filter draws air from the engine bay as the Felicia does?

Can i make a modification to my Felicia 1.3 filter case?
D.FYLAKTOS replied to D.FYLAKTOS's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda FormanGentlemen, I thought more about how to convert the existing cabin air filter system because the years have passed, i am not young and careless about health issues like before and allergies are getting worse in the environment we live in. This is the existing (factory) system that I have, from its grille air blows in and from below I have a sponge made of activated carbon, while below I added a layer of kitchen filter absorber to hold more particles and to better close the gaps on the sides. The metal lip of the hood does NOT seal well, it is smaller in size than the sponge and does not touch it, so there is almost 2 cm empty space and the result is that odours from the engine pass through the sponge into the cabin. I remind you that rain drops and also water from the car wash to some extent fall on the sponge, which however, dries out through the heat of the environment and from the heat of the engine. Intermediate solution: I put a piece of stainless steel mesh to hold leaf-insects but all the above still apply. 1st solution: I go to a 3D printer, they make a "hat" for me, i.e. a rectangular parallelogram on top i fit a Filtron pollen filter for Skoda Felicia 1600 and an oval on the bottom to rest on the existing plastic frame. Yes, the air will be filtered better by the sponge, but there is still the issue of the odours from the engine room hitting the pollen filter. 2nd solution: Once again, I make a plastic frame with a 3D printer, I glue it back and as it comes down, it completely "closes" the lower structure, completely sealing it as we say: the cabin will only get air from the environment but there is the issue of drying since the engine air will not catch it and I have to wait in a "natural way" for example the sun to dry the Filtron pollen filter. 3rd solution: Again, I make a plastic frame with a 3D printer, I glue it back and as it goes down, it reaches evenly, it will barely touches the bottom construction, so: the cabin will get enough air from the environment and a little bit from the engine, while the Filtron dust filter will dry a little naturally, but also at bit from the hot air of the engine. 4th solution: Using a 3D printer, I make a plastic frame, glue it back and as it goes down, i bring it level with the surface barely touches the construction below, so: the cabin will get enough air from the environment, the screen will keep the leaves-flyers but there will be a minimal space where the heat of the engine room will dry the fine filter which will be made of an kitchen absorbent filter. 5th solution: With a 3D printer, I make a plastic frame, I glue it back and as it goes down, it completely "closes" the lower structure, completely sealing which will only consist of an absorber filter, so: the cabin will only take in air from the environment and the kitchen absorbent filter will dry faster in a natural way, for example the sun, since it will be thinner. @Papez @Thefeliciahacker @Raychev05 @Breezy_Pete @DeanVRS20VT or any other fine Gentleman who wants to help me i would love to hear your opinions.

Question about wet pollen filter of Octavia 1U
Felicia 1.3 has no pollen filter from the factory, just this charcoal sponge. The plastic scuttle cover is fine and far away from the sponge, the drain holes are OK too. The fresh air (plus water drops) are coming from the hood grille which is above that metalllic lip. We just talking trying to help each other as Human being.
