So this is Amundsen. You mentioned that you have CANTON sound system. In such setup each speaker is driven independently by a pair of wires, directly from the amplifier (not from teh glove box unit). I believe there are two separate issues: 1. Bluetooth disconnection/reconnection. 2. Tweeters being overloaded One of the reasons could be some SW problem - I will send latest SW (048) on PM.

SW upgrade does NOT activate ANdroid Auto, it is protected with FEC/SWaP codes, so must be either activated by Skoda dealer or unit must be patched.

The question is what are the "must have" features out of listed below: 1. Bluetooth, with handsfree and streaming support 2. SmartLink (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink) 3. DAB reception 4. Video playback from DVD, USB, SD 5. CD playback 6. OEM navigation 7. displaying OEM maps in Virtual Cluster (Active Info Display).

I'm in Poland so it does not make any sense to send it to me due to high costs. The IC that needs soldering is 8-bit microcontroller PIC16F747, I marked it red on the picture below.

It's not the issue of wiring, it's probably the well known problem of breaking soldering points of one of ICs. If I am right then the repair is quite easy - it's enough to have this IC resoldered.

SmartLink - fully understood. It can be activated in your current unit. BUt what do you need oem sat nav,which is always outdated and offline, for if you have SmartLink and can use online navigation, which usually is actual and has traffic information available?

You can either buy activation from your Skoda dealer or the unit must be patched /hacked which requiresit to be disassembled and soldered 😞
