Amundsen Mib2 Map Updates
I agree the URL doesn't feel like a VW one but it is If you go to the VW webportal https://webspecial.volkswagen.de/vwinfotainment/int/en/index/downloads/maps-download#/ Select something like the Golf GTI from 2017 and discover media, then look at the links, they are all at lighthouselabs.eu For instance: https://vw-maps-cdn.lighthouselabs.eu/vw-maps/DiscoverMedia2_EU1_1410_V12.7z Changing the 1410_V12 to 1520_V13 gets the newer version.

Not sure I'd call them bootleg - they are hosted on the VW servers if you check the URL's

Is there a setting to make steering more direct and sporty?
Does this help: http://www.pss-steering.com/en/prog_rack_steering.html Or maybe this different system:

Original coding help needed
I've never used OBDeleven but I think there is a 'history' option. You could also ask on their forum for support

Original coding help needed
What did you do and which tool did you use? Depending on the tool, it may store the changes you made to restore the config. If you have no backup, you'll need to take it to a dealer as only the Skoda/VW servers will have the original coding...

Amundsen Mib2 Map Updates
@MartiniB - Looks like there are some new VW maps https://vw-maps-cdn.lighthouselabs.eu/vw-maps/DiscoverMedia2_EU1_1520_V13.7z Downloading at the moment so I've not checked them.

Head unit upgrade
5E0919605N looks to be a Bolero with a 'Setup' button. 5E0919605M looks to be an Amundsen with a 'Nav' button.

Replacing right hand steering wheel control panel
Sure, drop me a PM if you'd like a scan I've removed airbags a few times so if you need a hand, I'm happy to help

Replacing right hand steering wheel control panel
Yup, either checking the part number printed on them or getting the car scanned with VCDS or similar should confirm the part number. The last digit is important in the case of MFSW buttons so I'd suggest replacing like for like if possible.

Mode resets back to normal every time I switch off
Great! Out of curiosity, why did you downgrade it?

Mode resets back to normal every time I switch off
@aki78 - I assume your car resets to normal as you've fitted a 'magic box' to fix it? I have a 3Q0907530L HW436 SW:4326 which currently doesn't reset to normal (remembers the setting). @Krosta - it looks like your 3Q0907530L gateway has been downgraded as HW442 is normally a AA, AC or AG index. Can you confirm that? Just need to find someone with a Q index

Excellent, thanks @simion_levi - that matches my expectations

Airbag light - I assume I need to go to dealer to reset?
Did you get this sorted in the end? If not, I should be in Cambridge on Monday if you want me to clear the code for you. Not super close to Bedford but as close as I tend to get

Replacing right hand steering wheel control panel
If all the functions die at the same time, the clock spring could be suspect. However, if it's just the right roller, it's more likely to be an issue with the buttons

Mode resets back to normal every time I switch off
I can't find any stock Octavia autoscans (on rosstech forums) with 5xx gateways fitted - the only examples are obvious retrofits. I'm happy to believe that 5xx gateways reset to normal but I can't find much evidence that were stock fitment for the Octavia. There newest scans seem to have the 4xx AC version which makes me think it doesn't support driving mode memory. In this thread https://octavia-rs.com/thread/27496-fahrprofilauswahl-wird-nicht-gespeichert/ which is slightly unclear (google translate) but to me, it suggests Q or AA might be a safer bet. While I believe you're probably right and appreciate the input, I was hoping to confirm with some MY19 owners where it definitely works

Leak in Boot - Skoda Octavia 66 (not estate)
Looking at the image below, there are two metal clips, is it one of these you've lost? If so, I'd suggest finding it if only to stop it rattling around. Maybe a magnet on a string or stick? Which white trim piece? The triangular one in my last post? Then yes, remove that before trying to refit the below.

Leak in Boot - Skoda Octavia 66 (not estate)
I'm not sure which bit you mean, can you add pictures showing it? The top of the C pillar just pulled off: I just pulled the top of the lower C pillar out slightly but left the lower part attached: I haven't got an image for the next bit, but I think there were one or two obvious screw for the 'top' panel on the boot side to pull away. Various metal clips were used, I think one stayed attached to the car body. If this does happen, grab some mole grips or plyers and remove it from the car body, it should just slide back onto the trim ready for refitting

Replacing right hand steering wheel control panel
Airbag will need to come off first. Both sets of button and the interconnecting plastic trim come off together. You can then unscrew the buttons from the plastic trim. I don't think they sell the buttons as individuals so you'll need to replace both. They shouldn't need coding if you get the right part number. Might be worth taking the buttons apart and checking for dirt/grim etc first though

Mode resets back to normal every time I switch off
I believe driver mode reset/memory is down to the CAN gateway software version. I'm currently trying to find which is the newest version which doesn't reset to normal. @SimonD316, @Scotty72 and @VRS_White_Hatch, do any of you know which CAN gateway your cars have? If you've ever had a VCDS autoscan done, it'll be mentioned in there. Other software such as OBDeleven should also report it. I think @SimonD316 may have VCDS? If you do, can you drop me a PM as it would be very helpful to see an autoscan and adaption maps for a MY19 vRS
