Octavia AFS issue
@tibiking - on a FL MK2 Octavia, there are three control modules for AFS: - The AFS master is behind the climate control panel inside the car - Each headlight also has an AFS slave (black thing) and xenon ballast (silver thing) attached to it

LED Indicator on left headlight is lit all the time
When electronics go wrong they let out smoke, to make them work, just put the smoke back in Lucas kit for older vehicles, not sure it'll be compatible with a VAG BCM

Fuse
There is a mix of fuse sizes, most are either regular or mini if I recall correctly. I'd suggest you take a picture of each fusebox so you know both what's fitted and where they belong!

Could VCDS be used remotely?
The VAS5054a is an older official dealer tool, it's not designed to be used remotely. However, given that VAS5054a clones are cheap, easily available and work with ODIS (dealer software), they seem to be the normal tool for 'remote coding services' etc. They allow coding, adaptions, immobiliser matching, firmware updates and parameterising modules so are ideal for remote use. I'm not sure Rosstech would have considered making a remote-able OBD dongle, not so much as it might disadvantage them, more that it's unlikely to advantage them. It would add an extra layer of complexity, increase software costs and probably not make the hardware any cheaper If it were a viable and profitable product, I'm sure VCP, ODBeleven or Carista would have released something. Especially given the hardware cost of the latter two options as it would make them an ideal price point for remote coding...

Could VCDS be used remotely?
Typically, when people offer remote coding, you (the customer) is expected to have a laptop and a suitable dongle (VAS5054a). They then use teamviewer or similar to take control of your laptop and do their magic. The guys I've used install some remote USB software which makes the VAS5054a appear like it's connected directly to their laptop. However, this won't help you. You're describing a remote OBD port that would effectively make the OBD port appear in your kitchen. I'm not aware of anything like this existing at the moment Depending on distance, you might get away with some active USB leads (5m each with a max of 5, so 25m) but to be honest, a HEX-NET might be a more reliable solution. Not that either would help your neighbour in another county

Oil temperature low?
I'd suggest using VCDS or similar to check the coolant temperature is actually hitting 90'C, if it isn't, you might need a new thermostat. - If you have a DSG, I'd suggest replacing the DSG 'stat first as they are a common failure point. - If you have a manual or the DSG 'stat doesn't help, then consider the main thermostat. Just as an example, my CR140 shows the same symptoms, oil only hitting 80-85'C with the coolant gauge at 90'C but when I logged the temperature, the coolant was closer to 75'C! Here's a graph I made earlier

Android Auto on 2013 Columbus.
I'm afraid not. the RNS-510 style Columbus is pretty ancient tech even though you have the latest version :(

Reversing camera install
@ibsmith04 - if you don't find anyone closer, drop me a PM. Be warned, I'm almost at your distance limit as it's 49.8 miles from Peterborough to Swaffham according to Google

Head unit in 2015 Yeti - which wires do what?
That adaptor looks about right to me. When I used a RCD330, there were a few bugs that annoyed me: - No RDS info for FM - No alternative frequency (AF) switching for FM - No maxidot support apart from incoming call notifications - No climate information displayed - Occasional volume issues - Gets stuck in the 'voice' EQ losing most the bass Due to my commute, the radio stations at one end weren't present at the other so when starting the car it would always play (loud!) static until Android Auto got started. I ended up putting an SD card in with some music to avoid this in the end. Given how you want to use it, you might find the RCD330 suits your needs so give it a try as you've already got it. The MQB/PQ adaptor should be pretty cheap. Personally, I'd be temped to get a post May 2015 Bolero or Amundsen with CP removed and smartlink/carplay enabled. The Bolero may be cheaper as it has no inbuilt satnav Availability may be an issue in Australia. Might be worth chatting to @pab567 to see what your options are, you might be able to trade in or sell the original Amundsen to recover some of your costs.

Amundsen, Colmbus or Belero
As an FYI, the Skoda maps tend to lag behind the VW releases. The latest full Europe maps for a MIB2 Amundsen (aka Discover Media) are these: http://navigation-maps.volkswagen.com/vw-maps/DiscoverMedia2_EU-AS_1520_V13.7z You just need to download them and extract to the SD card, it's pretty tight on a 16GB card so make sure it's freshly formatted (fat32) with a 4k cluster size There are a few other choices if you want a smaller download/mapping area:

Head unit in 2015 Yeti - which wires do what?
Fakra connectors are as follows: - black DAB (at least in the UK, not sure about Australia) - blue GPS - white AM/FM and FM (for diversity) - yellow USB You seem to have a 52 pin quadlock and the RCD330 has a 40 pin quadlock so you'll need a quadlock adaptor. You'll also need an adaptor for the white double fakra as the RCD330 only uses a single AM/FM input. The other fakra connectors will not be used Out of curiosity, why are look planning to fit an RCD330, the wiring looks like like you have a MIB Amundsen which is a much better headunit. At a guess, is it a pre May 2015 model that only supports mirrorlink rather than smartlink?

Amundsen, Colmbus or Belero
On a used car, I'd suggest checking the part number. You can find it by pressing Menu > Settings > System information on the headunit. That's just to rule out a previous owner having swapped the display One quick google later and I'm pretty sure that on a 2018 car, the Amundsen is an 8" screen like this: Where as a Columbus is a 9.2" screen like this: As I say, feel free to post a picture, ideally showing the part number to confirm

Amundsen, Colmbus or Belero
Bolero has no sat nav function If you add a picture of the screen when it's showing the part number (system information) I'm sure someone could identify it for you.

The latest VCDS Release is 23.11.0 and VCDS-Lite 1.2
If you look at https://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/current.php even though it says 20.12.0, the download link is for https://dltemp.ross-tech.com/VCDS/download/M38fad/VCDS-Release-20.12.0.1-Installer.exe

Tyre pressure
It compares the rotation speed of each wheel so if some tyres are loosing pressures more than others, it should trigger a warning. It can't detect when all four wheels loose pressure at the same rate but that's what your monthly/weekly checks are for

Bag in coolant.
Some expansion tanks are double walled with the silica bag between the two walls. You might be able to see if with a bright light shining through the tank

Dashcam - cigarette socket wiring
Not by coding... You'll need to rewire it to an ignition switched supply You might be better buying a dashcam hardwire kit and using an appropriate fuse rather than messing with the 12v socket.

How to find the odometer reading on 2018 (68plate) Skoda Octavia Hatchback
It's on the instrument cluster. You might need to turn off cruise control on the indicator stalk to show the odometer 😉

LED Indicator on left headlight is lit all the time
Yup, you've blown a channel in the BCM which is likely due to your xenon kit. You either need to replace the BCM or find someone who can repair it

Low coolant warning
My CR140 never needed topping up with coolant in 150k miles. In that time it had a water pump and thermostat done so it would have been refilled twice by a dealer but never by me. Why do you think use coolant during a regen? Sure, the exhaust gases may cause the EGR cooler to get hotter but that shouldn't cause any coolant use.

Change the default Maxidot layout?
That's not a maxidot, it's a virtual cluster or virtual cockpit 🙂 If you turn off personalisation via the headunit, it should remember it, or at least my car does...

Steering wheel angle not zero when centered

Messed up coding on headlights
That looks better, I've had a look through the adpmaps I've taken from other cars and haven't got a match. I'll if I can do anything with it tomorrow. Can I suggest you also flag the 20.12 issue with rosstech? They seem to have a few issues with their latest release looking at some of the threads.
