  1. You might want to take a look at this:
  2. There is no harm in leaving VIM enabled - I never even put a DVD in my Columbus so unless it something you're planning to play DVD's, I wouldn't worry too much. Assuming the software is original, it should always take the latest maps but may not support the POI database that comes with the maps (if I remember correctly). I think earlier versions only had two partitions but later ones had three. Most the time, even with the latest firmware the Columbus is never 'quick' ;) Might be worth dropping @Rustynuts a PM as he tends to know most things about the Columbus/RNS-510 units and often helps others with firmware updates.
  3. Erm, it doesn't, otherwise the redline would be at 2500 rpm Because the ECU has decided there is still enough load on the engine to hold the lower gear. Seems unlikely, mostly as I think your car is probably working normally... You might be better posting in the Rapid section as a 2019 Rapid is very different to a MK2 Octavia in terms of engines and electronics. At least it'll let you compare to other similar cars
  4. I think I used the Josi version for a while. What version are you currently on as updates don't tend to add much from around SW:4000 onwards if I remember correctly. It will continue being Skoda branded
  5. It's cloned/copied hardware and hacked software based on a very old product. I wouldn't let it anywhere near my car and I'd be amazed if it worked in a useful fashion on a MK2 Octavia.
  6. Sounds like you have the cars original BT module still enabled rather than just the Kenwoods BT. I'd check under the front seats for the original BT module and disconnect it Feel free to add a picture if you're unsure what you've found.
  7. To save them needing to make two different headunits for cars with or without BT It also means you can retrofit BT without replacing the headunit.
  8. Pretty sure you don't have a telephone baseplate so the error when you code it isn't surprising. I've never seen a flash file to upgrade a 5N0 035 730 D module either. I'd probably replace the module for a HFP or combined HFP/rSAP module as HFP tends to be less problematic
  9. There's a guide here: It should at least give you an idea of whats involved
  10. I think you can disable the message but not the functionality 🙄
  11. At a guess, through an MDI interface? Anywho, on the media screen, hit the repeat button?
  12. Rustynuts sells a few and his prices are listed here:
  13. https://www.motor-talk.de/blogs/tbax-vag-codierungen/pq35-pq46-spiegelanklappung-per-ffb-gen3-gen4-t5465081.html
  14. The coding that enables AFS2 is based on the other cars which use different headlights. This means the 'home/neutral' position is different so they will point much higher than the original Octavia coding. You need to have the headlights realigned after changing the coding... You can mark off the original headlight height on a wall, change the coding, perform the basic settings and use the manual adjusters to match the original. A more accurate way is to pop in to a garage and have them use the proper tools to set the alignement. Just to point out, there are various codes which will all 'work' and it's not entirely clear which is 'most correct'. I collected about 60-70 different AFS codes after seeing the posts by Berryman and Dmitriy76 on drive2. There seemed to be four stock codings for the Octavia depending if it was LHD/RHD and had ABS or ESP fitted. I settled on a coding from Berryman, it was for a LHD car (1310934) so I had to convert it for a RHD car (1311190) - if my understanding is correct, both assume ESP (MK60EC1) are fitted.
  15. Plenty of items are sold that are dangerous... You'll probably be fine with 2 cm but just remember you need hubcentric versions and longer bolts. Personally, I wouldn't bother 🙂
  16. PY21W is an indicator bulb. I think you mean P21WLL? I'm sure the manual states P21W LLU but I've not checked recently so I could be wrong 😉
  17. It'll be stamped on the part somewhere... At a guess, it'll be 1Z0941669.
  18. It might be more helpful to add which engine you have rather than just the spec level of your car :) Still, the cheapest method is probably to seel your car and buy a more powerful version...
  19. Your VCDS version is out of date, you should update to the latest version... Still, 37 is shown as not registered. This means your aftermarket headunit, is claiming to be at that address and therefore you should add it to the installation list. I would also keep 56 in the installation list as it appears to be present too. For futre reference, it's more helpful to post a full autoscan rather than just an installation list.
  20. I doubt it, as they connect their magic goo to the fuel system and you have direct injection, it won't touch the inlet manifold. From their website:
  21. 1Z2 959 565 F at a guess... You could always remove the existing one to check the part number first ;)
  22. Soot mass seems fine. Oil ash volume seems right for that milage but may be over the service limit. It's never been clear what the max is but 175ml is commonly quoted and you're at 210ml. A few have gotten it to 300ml+ apparently without issue so if it's working fine, I'd leave it until it dies 😉
  23. 1K0614517AE is the hydraulic side, there will be another part number on the base of the black plastic bit. Looking on eBay, it's commonly attached to 1K0907379AC which is a earlier MK60 ABS pump. If so, the sensor pack may be located under the drivers seat?
  24. The sidelights connect directly to the BCM. It's a 6"x6"x1" black box above the pedals in the drivers footwel. It's hard to miss as it has 3 big 52 pin connectors to it (black, white and beige/gold). It's full of solid state electronics so there are no user servicbale fuses/relays inside...
  25. It's probably built into the ABS module assuming you have a MK60EC1 varient installed
