  1. Yep. I'd rather watch a clubbie at Cadwell with ICE and blaring exhausts.
  2. Was reading that there will be opposition to giving them concessions though. The other manufacturers wont be happy for a Moto GP scenario where the poor teams are allowed much more engine development.
  3. Top level Motorsport never equated to normal cars did it? BTCC has now followed F1 into building overweight, less raceable cars as a sop to the hybrid lobby. Based on the Donington evidence, the racing is now poor compared with previously. Alan Gow might finally have lost his magic touch; there's a good chance that a couple of seasons of this will ruin his long standing race series.
  4. The hybrid system just makes the cars heavier, and the benefits arent obvious - for example Adam Morgan was very competitive in race 2 and 3 without hybrid assistance. It's just a trendy green change, that isnt so far improving the show, is making the cars less reliable, and more easily retired due to damage.
  5. New BTCC. Not as good. The new hybrid handicap doesnt give the performance differentials at all that ballast and tyre compounds did. And the new cars are unreliable, how many breakdowns?
  6. ...Bastianni wins again on Gresini's Ducati. 2 wins from 4! ...and takes the lead in the title race.
  7. True, and the absolute irony...hes got a damn fast BTC Racing Honda for his final year.
  8. FORZA APRILIA!!! Aleix wins his first GP ever in 200 goes, and Aprilia's first top class win. He leads the championship too.
  9. Having had new 2014 and 2017 Toledos, the later seats are clearly much more supportive, not to mention covered in smart Alcantara/Leatherette. A set of those would look sweet.
  10. Oddly enough RedBull powertrains hasn't anything to do with this year's engine. Honda are doing it all in house still.
  11. Strange to see Mercedes with the slowest engine😁. Marko has of course been crowing about poaching 50 staff from Mercedes F1 engine division...
  12. Wow. What a start for Ferrari. And after 2races Honda have had at least 4 drivetrain related retirements already.
  13. Radical Mercedes upgrade handling badly after 2days in Bahrain. K-Mag fastest following surprise call-up from HAAS after they ditched Putin cronies, the Mazepins.
  14. Pol Espagaro chokes 3 laps from home... Why did Honda take him on? Well done Enea Bastianini👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
  15. I read often that MIB2 HU are not compatible with older (pre - mid 2015) Rapids
  16. Aston was rumoured to be a real car, apart from the Photoshop leaving the front suspension very asymmetric. Mind you, their actual car has been on track for shakedowns at Silverstone already.
  17. My rural commute involved a lot of back road T junctions and a little town traffic. I was surprised to be saving £100 a year using stop-start. It can be awkward when joining a main road though.
  18. Launch season somewhat disappointing, with no actual new cars seen at the launches. So far Haas, RBR, and Aston have shown...nothing, except their new sponsors/colours on last year's FIA 2022 concept bodywork. Keeping their cards close to the chest, in case they have found the magic bullet.
  19. Start stop saved 6% on my fuel costs on the 1.2 and I didn't live in a city. Can't understand owners who turn it off (if fitted obviously).
  20. Used to be an Ebay seller flogging helper springs for these struts. Strong enough to auto open the boot if holding down the remote button.
  21. Time for a new thread? This one was about the new cars coming in 2017. Now we have another completely new Formula...Hybrid WRC. BTCC going hybrid this year as well I think?
  22. Well some teams will be hoping to move forward. Alfa and Haas both did zero development on their 2021 cars, so should have a head start on the all-new ones. If it's anything like 2009, maybe only a third of the teams will find the magic bullet in the new aero rules package, and its unlikely all would get the same performance out of it. That could then give us a dominant team at the start of the season (like Brawn) but will current budgets allow the others to catch up? Every team must be hoping to be the Brawn GP of 2022. A small chance of another new champion?
  23. There is a new Logan saloon in the showrooms in Europe but not UK. The long body version of the range is the Jogger 5/7 seater, currently available to pre-order.
  24. 5 months in, the Dacia still hums along, still guzzling LPG though due to the 1500 foot hill on the way to the shops. It really is the automotive value and performance equivalent of cheaper branded white goods, just doing everything required to an OK standard and nothing more. Although unlike BEKO electricals, it hasn't tried to burn down the kitchen yet.
