Good run of races coming up for RedBull now. Pole at Monaco should give Max a win, and now 2 races at Zeltweg...for some reason the Honda has always been much more competitive at higher track altitudes.

Oh I remember... Just before the food cropped up, I was going to ask if there's any reason why Mercedes wouldn't take Norris over either of their juniors? For me, he's certainly the one showing form this year.

I doubt it, that is something we just cannot find in Spanish supermarkets.

By season's end, I'll be at the other house so you'll likely be having virtual Empanada y Fritas.

Exciting day at Thruxton then. How on Earth does Sutton go to the back in 2 races yet still end up only 10 points off the championship lead? Great comeback day for Plato. Shedden mega quick too. Looking forward to the next 27 rounds!

Done.👍🏻 The Gasly/Alpine link has been widespread gossip for weeks now. I'm just passing it on. I feel Russell is only one more big error away from falling seriously out of favour with Wolff. Remember him chucking it into the barriers during the safety car last time at Imola? That cost vital points for Williams, and his most recent Imola effort cost both Williams and Mercedes. I think he is exactly where Ocon was 2 years ago, when the Frenchman was publicly assuming that he himself was heir to the throne at Mercedes-AMG, and that he would get Bottas seat.

Just seen the start of race 2. Awful smash. Andy Neate has long been out of his depth in BTCC. Alan Gow surely has the power to bin incompetents from his series?

Yes, have they decided whose fault the crash was on the start straight? Nasty seeing drivers crash those 70s F1 cars. Very dangerous not to mention classis cars getting damaged.

Toto farmed out both his lead junior drivers. Talk already is Alpine may move for Gasly next year. Has Ocon already got a deal elsewhere?

Champ Sutton spun round out of the lead on lap 1 by Turkington. Filthy move. Pleased to see he got a penalty. Sutton amazingly got from 29th up to 10th in the rest of the race.

I think Max will have trouble activating the rumoured exit clause for poor performance. RB are clearly a lot quicker, comparitively speaking, than it was before. Ocon beating Alonso isn't doing his chances any harm though. I mean George is quick sure but who has he actually beaten. Mazepin, and poor Kubica with just one arm.

So you didn't hear Toto talking about Ocon again today? Currently taking Alonso to the cleaners and putting himself back in the frame at Mercedes. If Russell wants that INEOS F1 seat next year hes going to have to do better, because its not a nailed on certainty.

Red Bull must be a little bemused. Beat Hamilton by a massive half a second in Q2 and then he magics up 0.7 seconds on his very next run!

Monaco is where the money is. F1 is a business, not a sport, after all. If it wasn't for DRS it would be awfully uneventful on most tracks though.

Since James Hunt passed, the only F1 commentary team I really enjoyed listening to was John Watson/Ben Edwards on Eurosport. I certainly don't recall Wattie being a smug know-it-all like Brundle can be... despite being markedly the more successful F1 driver.

Go Jack Miller. Superb 1-2 for the young Ducati pair after arm pump ruins Fabio's race.

The thing about the C4 coverage is you don't have to watch it as it's broadcast. If you get in late and it's still on you can restart it on All4, or it goes onto catch-up a very short time after the broadcast ends. It's good insurance if you're away from your sky box. And thats also ignoring Sky Go, which works all over Europe on your mobile devices.

I don't believe free to air broadcasters have access to half of the footage premium channels do. Bernie was against continuing free-to-air and I expect Liberty don't want to give it away either. Either way, since I lost my free bonus F1HD channel on Sky a few years ago, I've just had to spend a few minutes pre-race finding the best streams (whilst saving a pile of money it has to be said.) I certainly can't justify the cost of Sky any more, only spending about 5 months in the UK a year nowadays.

How did Marko not see that Max would lose the fastest lap point? Even on C4 you could see he was way off track during that final lap on red tyres.

LOL C4 doesn't cost £80 a month! ...which is what I'd pay for SKY slow copper broadband, basic TV and F1. I get 100Mb fibre internet in two houses (in different countries), mobile and a VPN for way less. The VPN only costs about £1.50 a month but I can choose any worldwide English language coverage I like, even the SKY F1 version. Funny that you like the SKY coverage. I've been reading that other countries that have had it forced on them are less happy, the USA in particular.

1.2 TSI Vs 1.0 TSI
If you're in/near the Highlands, the poor torque characteristics of the 1.0 are really magnified by hilly terrain. I would avoid it.
