Modern cars mostly charge the battery when the engine is on overrun, or when braking, and by not having the alternator sapping engine power during normal running saves fuel. To allow this process the battery is normally kept at 80% charge to allow some capacity for the alternator to dump energy whilst braking or during engine overrun.

The 2.0 TSI 190 already has a GPF fitted, since the change from the 2.0 TSI 180 engine.

Turn off mirrors synchronous adjustment in the car- mirrors and wipers menu.

This is normal, when only the needles are lit, it’s a reminder that you should have your headlights on. Just leave the headlights selected to auto and you won’t have any problems reading dash.

Do you not have the “P” button that you can push to activate/ de activate pdc and camera.

There should be a tick box option in the vehicle menu. I presume this is happening when your reversing up to caravan to hitch up, or is it happening when reversing with caravan connected. If so your tow bar hasn’t been coded properly.

If that’s true, that you paid £30k specifically for Skoda Connect/ My Skoda app features, then I’d hand it back. On the odd occasions when Skoda Connect works it has no redeeming features unless honking your horn and flashing your lights remotely floats your boat. To think that Skoda used to charge £100 PA fee to use this flawed app is beyond belief, it’s not even worth being free.

I wouldn’t waste time, even if you do get it to work it’s far from impressive, even on the odd day that it does work.

Think the delivery costs to the UK ( £15) would rule that option out.

According to the various how to guides in other sections of this forum, it’s an easy straightforward swap with no coding required.

I would imagine TPS or dealer parts dept would be your best bet.

When I bought mine the SEL was the pick of the bunch with the best spec for price. Been looking lately and the Sportline seems the sweet spot at the moment, for not much more than a SEL you get Columbus instead of Amundsen, no extra costs for metallic paint, electric drivers seat, led interior light pack, and alloy pedals.

Unzip the downloaded file straight to the formatted SD card/ usb drive as in the guide on the update portal saves a step and time from above method.

Why bother with this useless app, the vehicle status menu on the infotainment unit will show any faults that need attention.

I would enjoy the new car and stop worrying about Skoda Connect/ My Skoda app, or whatever Skoda wants to call it this week. Even when it is working it’s pretty useless anyway, unless honking the horn and flashing the lights remotely floats yer boat
