  1. Send me the spec and how much you want for it - possibly interested.
  2. iirc you can use the dash method and this will reset it to fixed.
  3. They do. Speaking from experience and now on the 2nd warranty spray of my front bumper due to soft paint......which has come back SOFT!
  4. If the dealer is worth anything they should be de-ordorising the car properly by getting a valeter in with one of these: http://www.autosmart.co.uk/Aromatek.html
  5. Why would you sell it when it has had a fully approved repair? As said, you shouldn't be able to tell and wont affect resale or value.
  6. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-OCTAVIA-MK2-BOSCH-FLAT-WIPER-BLADES-04-09-A937S-/120621575051?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c159b2b8b http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-SKODA-VW-AUDI-SEAT-POLLUTION-FILTER-1K2819653B-/380408747857?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AOctavia&hash=item589220d751 You can probably get for around the same price from Euro Car Parts using the BRISK25 discount code.
  7. Doubt it as it is a TFSI..... ....and as for need, hmmmm.
  8. The filter was black because it was a charcoal filter, the new one being white wont be a charcoal filter
  9. With the weather like this i like to use the global unlock off the fob but the last few times i have noticed that the rear drivers window is sometimes slower to come down than the rest but it goes back up quicker than the rest! Is this a sign of impending failure? They have always gone up and down at the same rate.
  10. Rubbish. Have you never tested it? I can do a run to work and back, one with a/c and one without and they are identical within +/- 1MPG which is obviously due to outside influences and not the 'extra load' of the compressor. This has been the case for my 100bhp 1.9PD Polo, 130bhp 1.9PD Bora and 2.0CR Octy. Diesels have the torque to cope with the extra load with no effect, small petrols, however it does make a massive difference as I have noticed on hire cars I have had in the past. If a/c used more fuel on my car i would know about it. Having windows open, low tyre pressure, roof bars, roof box, bike carriers all make much more difference than a/c i am afraid.
  11. The sellers email and the law are 2 totally different things. That email is just to put you off from progressing. I never recieved a solid state drive i ordered from Amazon themselves, filed a 'where's my stuff' report. Was told to wait 28 days, replied after then and they sent a new one next day by DPD.. It is UP TO the seller to contact the Royal Mail and ensure that the product is sold in a safe and secure transit, not the buyer. With 3rd Parties on Amazon, they may well try it on but Amazon are very very strict with their 3rd parties and you will be booted off for poor customer service like you have experienced. As for Royal Mail, they are useless anyway if you have to contact them and they can't even manage to deliver Special Delivery items to the correct address (twice now i have had this).
  12. What is the auction link. May know someone interested
  13. use drivethedeal, you will probably find that the dealer they put you in touch with will let you trade in. If not sell private or sell to another indy dealer or a car buying company. If you are saving that much over a local dealer it has to be worth a little extra hassle. Myself, I would never trade in a car, I look after them too much to be insulted by a ridiculous book price of average condition.
  14. Air con makes little or no difference especially on diesel. Its another urban myth. Only on an inadequately engined car would it make a difference..such as a 1litre car with barely enough power to pull it along without the air con being on.
  15. You love going round the houses don't you. You raise it with the seller, if no satisfactory response you raise with amazon. Simple. You don't need to contact royal mail at all. Until the item is in your possession it is the sellers responsibility to keep the item secure. If they choose a non tracked method, that's their problem.
  16. You mean 505.01 for fixed service or 507.00 for variable
  17. Where are you located? How much for shipping if you are too far away?
  18. I was actually impressed with mine last week. Not too wallowy and the brakes held up very well. Car is totally standard. You may recognise this track
  19. These pipes do feel loose but as long as you can't pull them out they are fine. It is very disconcerting being able to wiggle them about but the Bora is now over 100k with no boost issues
  20. It is true. Yes it is law and no it isn't being enforced until November. If you never use the ones you carry, it sort of defeats the whole object don't you think? I also know that you don't need a first aid kit but I carry one as a matter of course as you never know when you may need one.
  21. Yes: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-18662555 Grace period until November. It is a totally flawed, unthought out law. You have to have 2 breathalysers present in your car. This is to enable you to test yourself to see if you are fit to drive should you suspect that you are not. Say you use one, you are fit to drive, you are then breaking the law as you only have one breathalyser left. Personally i would risk the €11 fine considering i did 1600miles last week through France, Belgium and Germany and only saw one Police car in Germany.
  22. You don't need spare bulb kit, it isn't law. The breathalyser law isn't enforced til November anyway so save your money.
  23. I paid £30 a couple of months back. Totally pointless. Energy saving bulbs only make up 3% of the total score so wouldn't worry about that, especially as I haven't looked at any for any of the houses that I've viewed and I very much doubt anyone else looks at them.
