  1. We were in continental Europe and had the Km and L settings activated. So far - I could swear - I have never seen a dual display for digital Km/h AND MPH as a smaller line. There was only ever either MPH or Km/h. I noticed that the centre display said that an update was available and asked for permission to update and I just clicked o.k. Has anyone else noticed this dual digital display and can this be coded to only Km/h?
  2. I got the USB socket from Aliexpress because I ordered other bits from there, but you can find it on Ebay too. eBay UK12V Car Cigarette Lighter Socket Dual QC3.0 USB Ports Fas...Model: QC3.0 & PD. QC3.0 output: DC 4.5V/5A, 5V/4.5A, 9V/3A,12V/2.5A. Model : Dual USB. With a switch, you can freely switch display mode or turn on/off the power;. PD output: DC 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.5
  3. And back to my original thread title - front cigarette lighter replacement. The socket can be unclipped by lifting the front end with a trim tool. The back is hooked in. The lighter comes out quite easy once removed. Just push a couple of clips and it slides out. The whole in the plastic flap needed to be slightly filed out as it was too small to take the USB socket. I soldered the USB wires onto the 12V and earth. Access is not the greatest but works.
  4. My idea was to not use an adapter but to replace the complete cigarette lighter. It worked well on our last Superb.
  5. Hello, Has anyone replaced the cigarette lighter with a USB charging socket? I did this in our SII and I found that the USB-C socket is not really charging enough to keep a sat nav going.
  6. I have turned my dynamic indicators off on a 2023 SIII. It is Rollenblinken not Richtungsblinken you have to inactivate.
  7. I wanted to tow my son's car and got my tow eye out of the boot. It was the wrong model. I found 1T0805615A. It was too small and I called the local dealer. I was told I should have 8K0805615A. I called the dealer I bought the car from and emailed but did not get a reply back..... I looked on Ebay and have seen 8K0805615 and 8K0805615A. Does anyone know if these are the same?
  8. Our SIII 2L TDI has flicked up an oil warning light for the 2. time. The car has done 17800M and is from 3/23. It had a service by Skoda with oil and filter change about 4000 miles back. I did check the oil and it is above minimum. It took 0.5l of oil to go back to the middle. The 1. time I had an oil warning was at about 12000M. My questions are - Is this engine known for oi consumption? Did Skoda not fill it adequately? Is this a warranty issue? My previous SII with the CFGB engine did not use any oil at all. And I did all my own oil changes.
  9. Try and find someone with VCDS, VCP or OBDeleven near you or, if you plan on staying with a VAG car for a while, invest in your own.
  10. If you know which sensor has gone wrong - no clicking or via OBD scan - look on aliexpress. I paid a couple of pounds for a sensor that broke six years ago. You can use a touch up to colour match it. My daughter could get through a gap below the rear light cluster, but it might be a bumper loose job for the inner ones.
  11. Remove 2 poppers in the roof lining to get to the aerial connector to be pulled out and it is a 21mm nut inside the roof lining to loosen the aerial. The A-pillar trim did not come off, but that is just fitted with 4 Torx screws.
  12. Hi, I do not have my dongle connected, but I think it was like this or similar: Select 4B Select Basic Settings Select Basic headlamp setting Press [Go!] - or whatever OBDeleven uses - to activate the Basic Setting.
  13. My daughter wants to get the roof wrapped because of lacquer peel. We want to remove the roof aerial and the black trims on the outside of the A-pillars. Has anyone removed these? Are these parts easy to remove?
  14. Do the basic coding. VCP can do it. What dongle are you using?
  15. Hi, I have taken a screen shot of my STG09 section in ODIS that you are looking at. It is a 2023 SIII. Do you have any problems with the light?
  16. Easy and possible on MIB 2 and I think 2.5, so far not possible on MIB 3 unless the files you mention overcome this. Even dealer has been unable / unwilling so far. I would love to try.
  17. MIB is the production standard. MIB 1, MIB 2, MIB 2.5 and MIB 3 for the SIII. I think MIB 4 for the new Superb. The higher the MIB the less you can code and retrofit.
  18. Hi, Are these files for the MIB3 version or earlier?
  19. Cairus, I have not seen this. Still hoping for TSR. Do you have any links?
  20. There is only the 2Q0 as far as I know.
  21. Your car is L&K. The A5 2Q0 camera implies your are still shafted by VW / Skoda as far as updates and activations go. Even though this is classed as SwAP - Software As Product - they do not actually work it that way. They are not selling these products. I have tried and even written to the CEOs. Polite FO as reply. If you had a Octavia activation would be an option.
  22. My daughter has 205/40-16 on her FII and she runs Toyo Celsius. She worked in the french Alps with proper snow the last 2 winters and she had very good grip.
  23. The 2009 FII had cruise control as standard on some models, so you can retrofit it. You might have to do some coding. The steering wheel replacement should be o.k. If you get a different style steering wheel you have to source an airbag for that model. Seats all fit universally. Even Polo and some other models do.
  24. Check your spark plugs and airfilter and do a scan for fault codes.
