Service Action - Software Upgrade EA 189 Engines
26DIPP replied to Charade's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
If you do not do it in the long run, it will affect your DVLA registration - COC. They are the ones that tell VAG that they have to comply - and this will not change in the post Brexit area either. -
Recommend me a decent tyre inflator please
26DIPP replied to LordRaiden84's topic in General Maintenance
Just get a tyre inflator through Ebay. There are loads that have been part of a tyre inflation kit and have never been used. I have got a Mini pump sitting in the garage. -
The TV was set to 16:9 and the manual states 4:3 and 16:9 as aspect ratios. I googled and found this: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/743913/Skoda-Columbus.htm. Here it states a 3. option 16:9 (hor. zoom), which puts the whole picture on the screen.

We have a Columbus and factory fit TV. When watching football I noticed that I never have the score in the top left and the time in the top right corner. I think the TV cuts them off because it has the "wrong" screen setting. Is there a way to change to something like letterbox or 16:9 setup?

Drivers power seat stopped working

I would let the dealer do that kind of test if still under warranty. -
Dog Guard for a Superb Mark II Estate with a sun roof
26DIPP replied to Oxfordian1's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
B6 and B7 are fairly similar I think. B8 was a complete new design. I was wondering whether the Passat net might fit into a Superb II. -

I have been looking for some kind of load net. On the previous car , a V70, it came as standard. Does anyone know whether a Passat B7 estate boot net would fit into a Superb? This is the Passat P/N: 3C9861691, and this is the Superb II P/N: 3T9861691. Very similar... -

Have you checked the connections underneath or fuses? Is your 2013 model still under warranty? -

Are some of the budget manufacturers coming of age?
26DIPP replied to Nathanio's topic in Tyres & Wheels
I am going to get the Barum Bravuris 3 in a couple of months when mine are down. I had the Bravuris 2 on my previous car. They are made by Continental with pretty much everything the SC5 has and named Barum and sold as mid range tyre. Many chinese tyres are about o.k. in normal use but do not have a lot of reserve when the envelope is pushed, i.e in emergency situations. -
UNpairing phone from BT / Columbus
26DIPP replied to 26DIPP's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
I will check it when I get my hands on it. When I was in the car's Media settings, I noticed the Setup / Phone / Factory Reset. Does anyone know, if I click factory reset, whether it would delete only phone data or whether any other HiFi settings would also be deleted? -
UNpairing phone from BT / Columbus
26DIPP replied to 26DIPP's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
Thanks Phil-E, I checked the Setup / Media settings and the box for BT auto play was ticked. So hopefully the unticking will stop it. My wife has a fairly simple Medion smartphone. Which one exactly I cannot remember. -

Do you not have the option for "Tourist Mode" in the Maxidot? -
UNpairing phone from BT / Columbus
26DIPP replied to 26DIPP's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
She likes her BT on because she uses a fancy BT watch .... I know / she knows that you can turn the BT off on the phone and that is what we do when she is in the car, but I want the car to not automatically use her phone by default. -
I have just compared my VCP scans - 2014 model - with yours. Have you coded anything in your gateway STG19 and radio STG56?

My wife's mobile phone is paired with the Columbus since she wanted to listen to some music on her phone and the Columbus happily connected it as a player. Everytime she is in the car the Columbus connects to her phone and her music as a default and preference. I tried to unpair the player but it is not allowed as it is also recognized as a phone. I do not know whether this is one of these ICE settings. Does anyone know how to unpair things recognized as phone from the Columbus?????

That is a big mud flap.

It is possible. This was a factory option from Volkswagen on Passats among other models, so can be retrofitted. There are plenty of write ups on the net. I have the L&K and have the parts sitting on the shelf. I just did not have the time and often could not be bothered to take the car apart in cold and damp weather. The parts you need are: - Trunk handle 5N0 827 566J or similar - slightly bigger as described above, so cutting is necessary. - Control Unit for Reversing Camera System 3AE 907 441 or similar. This is slightly smaller than the TV tuner and will fit into the same recess. - Fakra Z (Coax) cable from RVC to controller. - cable harness from Columbus / RNS510 to back of car. These looms are available and can be ordered separately: TV Tuner: 7N1 971 327 A RFK HIGH: 7N1 971 327 TV Tuner + RFK High: 7N1971327b <= This is the one you need to order if you have a factory fitted TV. It has one 26-pin plug for the Columbus and TWO 54-pin connectors for TV tuner and RVC. It costs about £55.
-
Very nice description. You can put a camera in if you have a factory fitted TV. You will need to replace the connection from Columbus to TV with a lead that has the TV + RVC plugs, so one cable out and one in.

I would not call this a "hack". It is an adaptation. Bartatman, I do not watch TV when driving, the passenger, I am married to, might watch a DVD. I do not even have my own personal mobile phone. If I had, it would not be by my ear, but connected to the car's bluetooth.

You have a pm.

I fitted aftermarket / Ebay mudflaps to a "standard" Superb estate. The body is the same as an outdoor. I fitted mine between the plastic wheel arch liner and wheel arch and they went on without problem. The Columbus is dead slow to a) boot up, respond.

Do they also keep an online record for services done outside their dealership? I have always kept receipts for any work done on a car to show at the time of resale. The service booklet is not nice to look at when it is empty and the servicing was done on a DIY basis.

If you are running 205/55-16 tyres anyway the yellow speed restriction on the steel rim does not apply to you at all.
-
205/55-16 up to 53 PSI it says on the side wall of my spare, so 3 bar or about 40 PSI is o.k. for the boot.
