  1. On 2. thought, a autoscan will probably not help. I scanned an S II DSG L&K for a guy who wanted some feature to be activated and that car showed #44 as 0 and VCP did not talk to #04. He had a different Kl ( whatever that means) in #44. In #44 it has to be an adaptation issue.... I guess. I did not update the page and did not see your reply.
  2. I first bought the VCP lead in October 15 and on the first autoscan I did #44 has been coded to 0 and #04 did not communicate either. Do you have any S II scan with PLA to compare to? After doing a Gateway scan I can reorder buy number or alphabetical.
  3. I have a 2014 S II estate DSG 4x4 L&K. I have a "Directional stabilization assistance control module" error in module 44 on a scan. This is a new error. I have not coded anything new, but have tried some adaptations in #44, but have also recorded every single change and reversed all the changes. I do not think I have this "Directional stabilization assistance control module" in my car. As far as I can tell this has to do with Lane Assist and this is not built into S IIs. It does not appear in the Gateway. I have a problem with the PLA in that it switches off after I do get the correct picture displayed in the Maxidot. I can choose parallel or 90° slots and the system tells me to go into reverse but then switches off and displays that it is finished. I assumed the problem could be with #44 but I am not sure. I have attached a autoscan, a PDF file of the error and a screen shot. autoscan_20160317_1533.txtdtc 44.pdf
  4. Thank you, I activated #09(BCM) Byte 15, Bit 6 and Byte 26, Bit 3 which I also found out about in another forum.
  5. DRL is activated in MFD. autoscan_20160309_2139.txt
  6. Does anyone have an idea, where the LED DRLs can coded to be on permanently, i.e. in Auto, side and main lights?
  7. Does anyone know where the LED DRLs can be coded to on permanently in the AUTO position on the light switch? I went to a dealer last week for some servicing and they did mention they had to recode something.... and I might see some changes but they had not changed anything major. The service person was not too specific. I did not notice the lights immediately but my DRLs are off in "off" and "Auto" whereas they used to be on in "Auto". They still come on with the Xenons automatically when it gets darker. I could go back to the dealer but that might be more hassle. What is the coding sequence on VCP to change them back to permanent?
  8. There are 2 different types of gue as far as I know: a foamy type and a viscous, runny one. I have only used the silicon based runny one. I have used it to FIX a puncture several times with no more leaks detectable. On a previous car where I caught a small screw on the way back from the tyre place - 5 miles - parked the car in the garage and the next morning it was flat. I had a puncture a couple of cm from the wall and they would not fix it. So I squirted some gue in through the valve and injected some into the whole and the tyre was fine with me for 25000M. Recently I noticed a slow puncture on the rear tyre of my motorbike. I tested it and had 3 tiny wholes in one section. This would not get fixed and I squirted the sealant in and have not had any more loss of pressure or leak. I know several bikers that use it as permanent preventative when they fit a new tyre. They squirt a bottle. Does not seem to affect high speed stability. When the whole is too big it does not work and just runs out though. All our cars have a spare wheel rather than gue though.
  9. Passats role on 225/50-17 tyres and they are said to be a more comfortable ride. I cannot imagine every tyre fitter to know every car spec. Have you swapped the tyres round the car yet? back to front or side to side?
  10. Can be activated for free with VCP or VCDS or probably for a fee by a friendly dealer.
  11. I am considering to swap a smaller roof box for a wide 900 mm wide roofbox. This would be mounted on existing Thule aero bars with the Thule 755 foot pack. My roof bars have a clearance of roughly 90 to 94 cm and the footpack "swings" in a little as well. Would the roofbox clamp width fit with the Thule 755s? Does anyone have any experience with a 900 wide roofbox?
  12. National tyres are just selling Barum Bravuris 3 as Buy 1 get 1 free. I had the Bravuris 2 on my last car and they were a good choice.
  13. I have been looking for a bumper protection for a Superb estate recently. This might cover your mishap. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Ladekantenschutz-ABS-fur-Stosstange-Skoda-Superb-3T-Kombi-2010-2013-/221511008901?fits=Make%3ASkoda|Model%3ASuperb+Kombi&hash=item339315c285:g:t~YAAOSwEK9T2-Ly
  14. Nice car! My father in law bought one last year when we changed to a Superb. We both came from Volvo. Until he bought his XF I had never considered a Jaguar as I thought they would be prohibitively expensive. Second hand they appear almost dirt cheap and they are pretty fully equipped.
  15. If you buy and admit to having bought a copy / clone you will get some snide comments - and so will I probably for writing this now. I have seen this happen in some posts here. On some forums some people refuse to help users with a cloned cable - and I hope they never throw the first stone. I bought a VCP - not a clone. I thought they are from Poland rather than Germany.... If you consider what the dealer will charge you for a DTC scan and what you can save buy "activating" functions yourself, you will probably save money, but hey, is this not stealing from VAG, if I activate a function, the car did not have, myself? Now I am getting really hypocritical. The VCDS interface is a little more user friendly with more clear text than the VCP one - I used a proper VCDS and a borrowed clone briefly. If you are after the coding, that you pick up from the internet, the VCP works as well as the VCDS. With regards to the forum mentioned, 2/3 is German speaking, 1/3 is English and a handful of russians post.
  16. The warning light in the dashboard is orange. When I swapped the winter tyres a couple of weeks ago, I had a look at the pads and they were all fine. I did not look at the sensor but I will when I change the tyres back after Easter. The car is braking fine for now and discs and pads are fine - but still strange that the light comes on after 24000M.
  17. No..... Far longer braking distance compared to summer tyres. And the winter tyres are still not as good on wet road either. Not good. Admittedly Winter tyres are better in the summer than summer tyres on wintery roads - so you get any.
  18. Winter tyres probably only for skiing holiday this year.
  19. Do Amundsen and Columbus use the same map data? And I will check this famous site you mention.
  20. Hello Noddy, Which map sw number did you install? And I have never heard / been told about 3 free map updates.
  21. I just googled for Columbus map updates and stumbled across a map v13 8348 Western Europe and a Blaupunkt EX-V also a V13. The Skoda website tells me that there are no updates for my VIN. Does VW send map updates to there cars first?
  22. As sad as this theft is I would have taken this as an opportunity to buy a compatible cheaper branded unit with a proper satelite navigation system. VAG could also go the way of other manufacturers and "mate" certain units to a cars CPU AND register in a central server.
  23. VAG are being watched by quite a few governments - UK is probably quite friendly to them - and motoring organisations. They do not want to be seen to mess up under the spot light. So this is probably quite safe. Unfortunately no compensation unless they are forced!!!
  24. Do you know the coding bytes and bits or do you know of a site that I have missed where they describe it?
