  1. A pickup truck is the thing then....
  2. The light should probably come on no matter what.... All it does is engage the compressor. Could be a fuse, or a bad connection. If the Aircon worked before going to the garage, it seems likely that they messed something up.
  3. No cable - it's a hydraulic clutch. Check fluid level, but it could be a slave or master cylinder problem. These, if the problem, are cheaper to fix than a clutch, so check first. It could still be a failed clutch or release bearing or spring, but that's unusual at that mileage..... Worst case is a failure of a bearing in 1st motion g'box shaft, perhaps?
  4. Blimey, do you have a trawler off Newlyn?
  5. Put rods on roof bars?
  6. As above, but I note you said "replaced the clip", but surely it's more likely to be the hose or a junction than the "clip" itself?
  7. With any new tyres or pressure changes, the TPM system usually needs resetting. Quite normal. Don't forget it doesn't actually measure pressure, it just monitors rotation speed from all 4 wheels via the ABS, and looks for a discrepancy that might indicate a wheel is rotating (on average) a little faster than the others. (I.e. possibly lower on pressure). You are running a configuration that means the rolling radius of the tyres has changed and this is why your speedo and satnav are now disagreeing more than normal.
  8. Prams are needed for a year or two, and give way to pushchairs, and then to infant car seats... Compact versions of either pram or pushchair are a fraction of the cost of selling and buying any car.....
  9. FWIW, on my phone at least (which is an ancient Moto G4 running Android 7) the latest 3.3.1 update of the app did work, finally. I completely removed the previous version of the app (not working) and then tried the 3.3.1 version of the Up! app which worked. Eventually Skoda released their cosmetically-branded version of the same app and having removed the VW version, it suddenly worked. The issue is that VAG (et al) contract out software like this to dodgy 3rd parties who don't really know what they are doing, or care - so this does not bode well for autonomous self-drive cars, does it? I think I like a hydraulic brakes, and steering, that responds to MY input not that of a software engineer (and I was one for 10 years or more, on cutting edge stuff!)....
  10. Garmin won't be any help either. Save yourself the pain and don't worry about latest maps or fuel consumption!
  11. If tracks used to play fine, but no longer do so, and you have done nothing to the card, it has nothing to do with "the format used to convert". If I remember right, these radios only play MP3 files or M3U playlists, and if they played once, they should be fine. It could be that the card has become corrupted somehow, or is flakey, or is making poor contact. Try the card in your PC, and see if it works normally there. You could copy all the content of the card onto a new folder on your PC and then reformat the card. Format as FAT32. Copy the files back to the card and see if it's now ok in the radio. If there are MP3 files that play on your PC but not off the SD card when it's in the radio, the most common reason is certain characters in the filename are not supported by all player software. It's to do with 'character sets' like ASCII, UTF8, etc, where not only can you get foreign language characters like accents, and graphical symbols, but also different versions of punctuation like a simple apostrophe! But I digress - if a track played once, it should play again.
  12. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223161641811?fits=Car+Make%3ASeat|Model%3AMii&epid=248974993&hash=item33f5786b53:g:WugAAOSwKvRbpNAU
  13. It may need recoding or rather resyncing with the car - it's in the manual. I think there is a possibility that the key fob has been squashed so that a button has been held on, and this can upset it. Also try disconnecting and reconnecting the main car battery, as this does a cold-boot reset on the ECU, a little like you'd do on a PC.

  15. Unlikely for that year? I have generally found that looking through the windscreen, and proceeding at an appropriate speed has served me well over the last 750K miles
  16. Yes - it's very good. Even in the hilly bits of Cornwall I hardly ever need to use the handbrake. It must be model-specific, rather than model-year-based then....
  17. To test it, it a takes hill steep enough for the car to roll and a few secs of your time. I doubt it's a deal breaker for a 2016 car!
  18. Could be broken tooth on starter gear or flywheel ring gear... Let's hope that it turns out to be something simple & cheap!
  19. I think it's unlikely to be a starter motor bearings, but it could be the gear that engages/disengages. I assume the noise stops once you are started, but if you listen from the front of the car with the bonnet up and rev the engine, can you hear anything then? Does the noise change/stop/start when you let go of the clutch pedal? Is the coolant nice & clean and full? (Thinking about water pump.) Can you record the sound and post the file?
  20. Not sure - I doubt it though. I have a feeling it was on facelift models....
  21. I've no idea - garages are mostly useless....
  22. Maybe a weak pump or kinked or clogged plastic tube?
  23. OK. I have no idea what may fit without a bit of fettling. My washers are fine, but have VW changed them over different model years perhaps?
  24. I assume you have cleaned the nozzles with very fine needle?
  25. The motors normally stop by sensing a current overload at the top or bottom of travel, but if your window gets sticky, or if the seals are grubby or worn, the motor can draw too much current and stop. First, try giving the glass a really good clean, then check the seals. If all is well, you may have a failing window motor...
