  1. It's just the Welshman that is an embarressment, he just thinks he's a funny comedian, asks inappropriate questions and then buts in when someone who has genuine knowledge asks a question with some inane comments and you can see the face of the team principal or driver "who is this idiot"
  2. On the MK1 it is the gearbox sensor according to the wiring diagrams but the OP has a 2008 MK2 and on that it's either the gearbox sensor or if fitted ABS
  3. Looking at the parts listing it does look like @Pete_Ex-Wino photo with the O ring #13 sealing onto the engine block ?
  4. The RPM & coolant temperature are sent via the engine ECU on the CANbus drive network, the vehicle speed and fuel quantity are analogue inputs into the speedo unit however if the car has ABS then the vehicle speed is also via the CANbus via the ABS control unit

    Same filter housing on my Treg I just put the new filter in and filled it with Moly Purge refitted the top and started no problem

    Looking at your picture the filter doesn't look like it's been touched in a while ? might pay to replace the filter element ?
  8. With VCDS in section 17 (Instruments) the output tests should drive the needle to prove the instrument motor is ok

    But a bit further in the manual it shows two different outlet pipe configs Fuel filter upper part, type A 1 -8 Nm 2 -(Not necessarily installed) plug for water extraction (unscrew and extract about 100 cm3 liquid using diesel extractor -VAS 5226- (renew seal). 3 -Fuel supply line from fuel tank, white or white marking. Ensure secure seating. 4 -Fuel return line to fuel tank, blue or blue marking. Ensure secure seating. 5 -Fuel supply line to engine, white or white marking. Ensure secure seating. 6 -Fuel return line from engine, blue or blue marking. Ensure secure seating. Fuel filter upper part, type B 1 -5 Nm 2 -Fuel return line to fuel tank, blue or blue marking. Ensure secure seating. 3 -Fuel supply line from fuel tank, white or white marking. Ensure secure seating. 4 -Fuel return line from engine, blue or blue marking. Ensure secure seating. 5 -Fuel supply line to engine, white or white marking. Ensure secure seating.

You'll be hard pressed to do that on my current car (VW Touareg) no dipstick fitted just the empty tube, only way to check the level is via the info screen and only after the oil is at working temperature and if it's empty it's a bit late to find out, that's why I bought a dipstick from a Q7 at least I can now check the level before the engine makes a horrible noise

  20. That looks the closest but physically much bigger according to the PDF Those are the standard "Euro" connectors, I have these on my compressor and they don't mate with the unkown fitting
  21. I used to have a rolls of O ring type rubber various diameters, that I used to repair numerous VCR's just cut a length off and superglue the ends together, I think I bought them from Tandy/Maplins ?

Can anyone identify this pneumatic connector type, it's on a Sealey coolant system pressure test kit, they use the same connectors on their Turbo pressure test kit, I've contacted Sealey and they say they have no idea of what type of connector is fitted which seems a bit odd ? A Google picture search only came back with a lighthouse !! and searching for "pneumatic quick release couplings" hasn't found anything yet

  24. You will need to code the system to tell it you have LED's and to do that you'll need VCDS or Carista/OBD11
  25. Have you replaced any of the bulbs with LED equivalents ? as they require a much lower current to work, so the system thinks the bulb has blown
