  1. I believe that the car works out what gear you are in by comparing the road speed and engine revs and calculates it from this. eg at 54 MPH at 2K rpm the car will be in 5th gear with my Fabia. If you put the car in any gear with the ignition on but the engine not running it won't know what gear you are in. In a car with a slipping clutch you can see the gear indicator changing down but without you changing gear because the revs are rising but not the speed. Thanks. AG Falco
  2. Exactly. But don't expect to see your battery at 100% all the time, which is by design. Thanks. AG Falco
  3. Try here first. https://carista.com/en/blog/battery-registration-made-easy-ff5wxcivsg Thanks. AG Falco
  4. Most Fabia III's have an EFB type battery fitted. If you now have an AGM type battery it would have needed to be coded to the car when fitted. Your Carista might be able to do it. Different batteries need different charging algorithms applied by coding the battery to the car. Thanks. AG Falco
  5. Was it the right type of battery ( EFB ? ) Was it coded to the car? Do you have stop / start on the car? Thanks. AG Falco
  6. Most people don't check their pressures often enough. Some garages, to compensate put them to the eco / full load / high speed pressures. I often hear ' but they were checked at the last MOT ' 😉 Thanks. AG Falco
  7. With mine, if it didn't start, I need to turn the key all the way off before trying again. If I don't it does nothing. Thanks. AG Falco
  8. Have you tried turning the volume wheel up when you are talking? Thanks. AG Falco
  9. With my Fabia 1.2 TSI at this time of year ( autumn ) I notice the following. I am down in the South. Water temperature can take 3-5 miles to actually get up to 90 C. The temperature gauge in the car will show 90 C from about a real engine water temperature of about 75 C. It also wont rise above 90 C until it reaches about 110 C. I use an OBD dongle and an app on my mobile phone to check the actual water temperature. Oil Temperature takes even longer to rise. About 5 to 7 miles to reach 90 C + Oil temperature will rise and fall as per use the engine is getting. If your car is getting warmer quicker then perhaps it is burning too much fuel too fast. Hence the poor fuel consumption. Do you know the actual MPG the car is doing from recently? ie. How much fuel does it take to fill the fuel tank and the mileage at which you have done. Can you smell fuel? Thanks. AG Falco
  10. Yes, but it also has a lower HTHS rating, down from 3.5 CP for C3 VW 504 VW 507 5W-30 oil to between 2.6 & 2.9 CP for C5bVW508 VW 509 0W-20 oil. ( the engine will wear quicker ) At a potential 2%. Thanks. AG Falco
  11. Normally steels are lighter than modern alloys, especially if you are going down 2 inches. Thanks. AG Falco
  12. Is it not under guarantee! Thanks. AG Falco
  13. Goodyear Efficient Grip xxx Goodyear Asymmetric xxx Or Bridgestone Turanza xxx Correct. Thanks. AG Falco
  14. 11-4-2017 at 10301 4-10-2017 at 36439 26-9-2018 at 20837 as well. Thanks. AG Falco
  15. This shows how the car was set up at the factory. Although they can change this from QI6 ( Variable ) to QI4 ( fixed ) it won't remember this. When they start a service booking it does ask, when the last service was and what was done, and will then calculate what needs doing now. It gets complicated if there is no history on the system. Sometimes the customer might know / have records. HTH. Thanks AG Falco
  16. Looks like it is listed as a Fabia 1.2 TSI 110 on the invoice which is a CJZD engine. But a CJZC ( noted in the next box ) is 90 as your avatar notes show.🤔 Thanks. AG Falco
  17. Others would. Thanks AG Falco
  18. Yes it does. If you PM me I can check. Thanks. AG Falco
  19. Have you the MOT paperwork? Is it online? https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history Service details should be put on an online ' Digital Service Schedule ' website. This can also be checked? Thanks. AG Falco
  20. Quite normal but my last two tanks were:- 506 miles at 59.3 MPG in Oct. 527 miles at 63.5 MPG In Sept. This is in a June 2016 1.2 TSI at 83K miles. Are all your journeys short / around town? What actual MPG are you getting? Sounds like something is wrong though. Thanks. AG Falco
  21. Was it an EFB type battery? Thanks. AG Falco
  22. Was it coded to the car after it was fitted. Was this a wheel speed sensor? What fault codes do do you still have and have the warning codes been checked /noted and cleared? Thanks. AG Falco
  23. Mk III's don't prime when you open the drivers door. it's at ignition on with my petrol one. Thanks. AG Falco
  24. You can get ones with a resistor in them to fool the car. Canbus error free type. But check carefully before ordering. Thanks. AG Falco
  25. Can get you out of trouble if the puncture is in the tyre tread. But still no use to a cut/hole in the sidewall of the tyre. If you have a spare then you still have a get out of jail free card you can use. Thanks. AG Falco
