Fabia vRS water pump scenario
If I'm honest, not noticed any real noise with the car until the other day, took the wife shopping and whilst she popped into the shop I was parked between 2 other cars with the engine idling. Opened the window to let some air in and noticed a noise when she was running, not easy to describe, but sort of grating, intermittent rattling, not to loud, but noticable enough from what is normally a quiet little engine. after call to local VW dealer and lots of money spent on order parts and then a few hours in the garage..........I have a bench full of lots of removed bits to get to the dreaded water pump. The person / s that designed many things on this twin charger were to put it bluntly..... f'in idiots, in 25 years of tinkering with all makes of cars I have never come across the mess that this engine is when you need to access / fix something. Some things are just plain WTF.....!!! The bench of bits and a little video of the rattling culprit. IMG-1489(1).MOV

Swing stereo upgrade
it is with the kit you posted. I assume thats what I linked on the other thread. It is plug and play, everything is in that kit. All thats needed after is to code the car telling it Sat nav etc is fitted in the can gateway.

Fault codes
I was not expecting the letters, literally "it's a 1.2, or 1.6 diesel etc" would have been just as helpful with the fault code. And yes mines a CTHE, not that it matters ๐

Fault codes
You do not know what engine is in your own car ? ๐คจ

Skoda Fabia 2012 Bluetooth Upgrade Help
Well, the RNS 315 Amundsen is the navigation unit as well which has built in bluetooth normally (not all do), these are also available with DAB, that would set you back around ยฃ250 and all you would need on top would be a DAB and GPS antenna But a cheaper option would be an RCD510 (link below) similar to the Swing unit you have, but more features.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265403788596?hash=item3dcb4c6d34:g:Y1sAAOSwWMFhj8Ir To this you have to add the bluetooth module and wiring like below. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304168778213?hash=item46d1df39e5:g:8OsAAOSwBX5hVuoP So cost gets "similar", all depends on what you want really. The RNS315 would need coding in the car as would also potentially telling the car its phone prepped. Heres an RNS315 FULL kit...........as you could buy from the dealer as an accessory, obviously a LOT cheaper now, but good value "imo" https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/194490536621?hash=item2d488a12ad:g:WPkAAOSw2cNhhO-A

Skoda Fabia 2012 Bluetooth Upgrade Help
theres no real option to add bluetooth to the swing unit, You ideally need to replace / change the headunit and then add the bluetooth to that...........OR replace with a unit with built in bluetooth like a RNS 315

Interesting HU/Radio Mystery Problem?
if hes local, run it back, dont need to be a tech wizzz. Just login to the radio on the main section screen, then click onto the long coding helper, then click each byte inturn, and under one of them is the different sound systems......... Need to ensure it's coded with Active speakers / no sound system, then select "DO IT" and see what happens. Like the image below from the topic on VW vortex. https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-t0SlgGz2XT4/U3157pq_j-I/AAAAAAAAAY4/7cjX4ZXPx5Y/s1600/Screenshot+(38).png

Intermittently working rear wiper
Have checked to see if the motor spindle is spinning "inside" the wiper ? would make sense if pushing down causes it to move.

Interesting HU/Radio Mystery Problem?
well the fact it was not screwed in tells you someone has most likely been trying to fix it. The stereo is the amp etc, so as mentioned could just have failed. Any warranty on the car ?
-
Interesting HU/Radio Mystery Problem?
you will need the security code of the radio itself, but you should get something from it assuming it works.
-
Interesting HU/Radio Mystery Problem?
I know it's obvious, but if you have a multifunction wheel, pushing the volume wheel will mute the radio.... Or was it like this when you bought the car ? The swing radio would be the standard fit.

Window switch light
I would agree, one of the many possible wires to break within the door loom to A pillar bellows. If I remember correctly it was the blue / grey wire. PS you say Dealer cannot find the fault ??? .....................quite embarrassing to be honest.๐

Heater fan replacement + xenon kit
I cannot see much wrong with that "image" of light.........it looks like the pattern "should be" on each lamp, but I only see one sweep line (going up towards the verge) What I cannot work out is where the left V right light starts and stops. Below is what you "should" see...........red being the line of light and the black being the 0 vertical line

Rear Roof Interior Light
do you still own this car ? If so, is that light fixed only to the roof trim, or is it bolted to the roof structure above ? On my mums TSi, the roof panel is shaped down where the light sits, this picture of yours it seems to be recessed back in

WANTED MK 2 FABIA FRONT HUB ANY BREAKERS
A used hub ?..................surely not.

HTP Vs TSI
even the reviews say you have to thrash the nuts of the 3 cyl.............our friend here is proof !!.... 4 cylinder wins even more points ๐
-
Coil and engine light
with the MIL light on, a code should be stored, so it needs to be plugged in again and the codes read............... anything else is a guess.
-
HTP Vs TSI
for me personally, if the 1.2 HTP is the 3 cylinder, they are inherently "rough" imo.............so the 4 cylinder 1.2 TSi would win all day for me. As far as reliability, the earlier TSi's had or can have timing chain issues, so worth looking to see if it's been done or not, even if it has not, would still be my choice. Don't have any experience to speak off regarding the HTP, but I will say this, I test drove several fabia's and Polo's with this engine before buying my Mk1 vRS and ALL off them just seem rough on idle, just not smooth or balanced

Looking at a Mk2 Fabia Auto - 10 plate - 110k miles
I agree, I would like it and I don't even need another car, I think the scout looks really smart and with the 1.4TDi should be good for many years.
