  4. Not sure what you mean "completely different" it does not matter if it's projector or reflector, the Halogen part refers to what type of bulb the headlight was designed to work with. The type of headlight refers to how the light is focused.
  5. Last of the fabia's had a rear roof light, my mums 64 plate TSi had one, it's not sunroof dependant........makes a big difference. My vRS is very dark in the back. I have been tempted to replace the roof lining with one for a rear light fitting, they are available. approx £200..........
  6. dunno about sweden (assuming your location is up to date) but you cannot "convert" any halogen headlight to a zenon in the UK, it's not legal and "should" fail an MOT.............
  7. you need to select aux on the radio for a start PS is this a Fabia or Octavia ?
  8. not done one of these on this car as yet, but just checked manual, no mention of any brackets etc to remove. Basically loosen tensioner then remove the belt.
  9. you don't need VCDS to diagnose the battery......... You say "it's pretty old" ........ what do you mean, just it's age or it goes flat reguarly, poor starting etc ?? "if" the battery is suspect, then that can cause all sorts of issues and ideally needs fixing first and as you have read, that "may" well sort your problem.
  10. I'm not 100% sure, it was a while ago I did cruise............but I think if you have the right terminals on the wires, you just push them in from the back. Will check my instructions ...
  11. never heard mine blow off (standard car) , is there an aftermarket dump valve fitted ?
  12. I remember from days back the code 11463 was to enable cruise on "older" cars in the Engine ECU............not sure if it's relevant to the Fabia. This page confirms that old code, but also shows more info.. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Checking_Cruise_Control_using_Measuring_Values#Cruise_Control_Activation
  13. if you unplugged the seat belt tensioner (when removing seat) with the battery connected, thats why you have the airbag light on, VCDS will turn that off no probs.
  14. it's a common issue on many cars and considered acceptable by manufacturers. best way to clear is long drive with headlights on and bulb covers off so the heat and air from the engine bay helps as well, but at this time of year it will happen again.
  15. I have this one, will set up to M8 nuts, M6 are no problem, even steel ones. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/352389244052?epid=18020814275&hash=item520c092494:g:f2YAAOSwqoRbMOI~
  16. mmmm........interesting.......does potentially look like that. I think I would be removing the bumper etc to have a look to see whats going on, it really should not fall down like that unless it was broken from a previous front end knock and then bodged into place instead of being replaced.
  17. A rivnut or nutsert as some will know it..... will work 100% to repair this.......However....... you need to ensure the hole remaining is only through the thinsheet / body panel. My guess is there is / was a weldnut fitted at manufacture and "if" it's still there, it will be very difficult to fit a rivnut as there will not be enough room to "form" the nut because of the weld nut, if the nut has fell off as the tack welds have broke, then great........If the nut is still there but thread is damaged, then a helicoil "may" be a better option. Post a piccy of whats the there now........ Ref the Halfords kit, it "looks" like it comes with Ali rivnuts, these are pretty soft and easy to strip............ steel nuts would be better and far stronger "imo" and def last the life of the car (like below) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253064908529?hash=item3aebd80ef1:g:8Y4AAOSwSIxZePl3 EDIT looking at the laser catalogue and spare nut parts, they are Ali nuts.
  18. Still hard to tell what / where it is supposed to live. If you can remove it, or have a close look, it will have a part number which will aid in tracking it down.
  19. When you say back box is going, do you mean the outer skin is holed / rusted away ? mines like that but not really got any worse. cobra https://cobrasport.com/collections/skoda-fabia-exhaust/model_vrs-1-4-tsi-2010-14 Jetex https://jetex.co.uk/files/downloads/Jetex Performance Exhaust Catalogue 2021.pdf
  20. any of these.........hard to say without a piccy https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/2013-697/8/825-825010/
  21. yes thats what I did about 16 years ago when I had my first Audi A8 which was pre-can, a "dummy" interface from Gendan (which are VCDS dealers) and 99USD was worth every penny imo..............had to upgrade later on, but my early cable still works I just don't need it anymore. Now the HEX+CAN-USB I have now is technically "out of date"................It was quite dissapointing to read when "Vagcom" went VIN based, thats was one difference I felt kept them above and not as greedy as all the other diagnostic tool manufacturers.
  22. So you have a cable ? or you are hoping to try one on yours or another vehicle ?
  23. you need to look at where the steering column comes through the bulkhead and connects to the steering rack, thats where the sensor is. You can see it from underneath on the right hand side looking through wheel arch / where the steering rack is. Below is a picture of where the sensor is (circled) brown ones unplug, the one in the picture is hard wired. As far as straight replacement, well yes as such, but it does involve dropping down the subframe a little to get the rack out and there is special tools to re-align that when refitting, you could probably get away without them but they do make it easier. Tool link https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222469704639?hash=item33cc3a4bbf:g:RVUAAOSw2gxYwAl7 You also (according to skoda / vw) need to replace the mounting bolts of the sub frame as they are stretch bolts. You can only really buy these from the dealer/ vw specialists, I'm sure there will be posts added to this where people don't replace the bolts, each to their own on that one, I always have on each rack I have replaced. additonal you will ideally need new seals for the steering pipes and some new steering fluid offcourse.
  24. Fabia 2 doesn't have auto headlights. This must be a retro fit switch ?
