  1. you don't actually say what is wrong........apart from the FM issue, which replacing a battery could not possibly affect.
  2. totally understand why your doing it, my RS is harsh anyway and roads in general are not designed for rubber band tyres..........and when you hit a pot hole...........jeez.
  3. As much as I like the Mk1 RS wheels....................mmmm look to small...........
  4. on a diff note.................just wait till you buy a car that already has LED lights
  5. The box in the GT was 6 speed 02S File attached, its the workshop PDF, had to zip it to be under 10MB 6-speed manual gearbox 02S.zip
  6. all the guess work is a bit pointless.............it needs plugging in.
  7. could just fit LED bulbs.........
  8. no fault code logged on what ? if the light is on there IS a code, just needs to be read by a capable diagnostic tool. There is a fault in the engine "control" somewhere.
  9. Do you have an cigarette socket adaptors for USB or similar....these stay powered when plugged in and will flatten the battery In car camera left plugged ?
  10. as long as it makes the required effort / percentage, it will pass the MOT........however still disagree with the blog, not perfect.........to slack in my opinion and Mr VAG disagrees to. workshop manual states to set so it holds on 4, link was posted earlier. Hey ho each to their own.
  11. fresh MOT ?? its not due till April........he's asking before taking for this years MOT
  12. I think this will end up going knowhere..... if it passes an MOT its ok, but that is the "minimum" standard, not the "best" scenario. I doubt you would ever get in a new car with a manual handbrake and get 6 clicks out of the handbrake without pulling a hernia !!
  13. I did, as I say not sure if they are the same or not, look similar but I have not sat in a Monte. I know its personal choice, just interested to know what you dont like.
  14. One of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in..... in the RS.............not sure if they are the same as the monte..... What dont you like ?
  15. why not look for / fit Fabia RS seats ?
  16. this I bet would work to... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Drivers-window-motor-VW-Audi-Seat-Skoda-6Q1959801J-NEW-Genuine/203298308767?hash=item2f5586029f:g:0NQAAOSw31RgRL-P
  17. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/02-09-VW-POLO-9N-DRIVER-OSF-FRONT-WINDOW-MOTOR-6Q1-959-801-H-6Q1959801H-GENUINE/233921441437?hash=item3676cdee9d:g:cYoAAOSwSbhgQ8B-
  18. I have to agree....... 6 clicks is "high" in my opinion and you say it does not move, it's a different kettle of fish when the roller brake tester is trying to turn the wheels or your parked on a 45° slope For me it shows cable stretch which is a normal occurence over time, so it needs adjusting up to "hold" the vehicle ideally on about 4
  19. If you def want a columbus then you WILL need a bluetooth module as above. If you went down the RNS 315 route, then you can get them with Bluetooth "built in" so no need for the additional module. Not sure what you mean by GPS module ?....... do you mean Antenna, then yes you will need one for either unit. The one linked earlier in the topic will work fine and can be situated "inside" the dash and will work fine. The other issue is DAB, do you "want" it, if so you will need a DAB antenna as well. My oringinal Amundsen was not DAB, although you can get them with it, thats the main reason I snapped up the columbus as I missed the DAB which is in my other car. As mentioned above I fitted the genuine GPS/FM/DAB/GSM antenna. "imo" if your not bothered by screen size and the ability to play DVDS (columbus) I would be tempted to look for a RNS 315 with Bluetooth and DAB especially if you have the maxidot dash as well.
  20. Agreed............Alignment on a beam setter to max allowable limits improves it massively as well as better bulbs. I use Philips extreme vision.
  21. I fitted a Amundsen in mine originally, then upgraded to Columbus as got a deal on one. All plug and play with seperate bluetooth module, factory GPS / DAB / FM etc shark antenna, Cannot remember which Bluetooth module I have, but works fine with Iphone and wifes Samsung......PS the one in your link is old (2008).....I would look for a newer one. All then coded with VCDS.
  22. Personally, I would ring the dealer, give them your vehicle info and get the correct part / price of a new one. Your vehicle is around the time the number changed, so it needs to be correct...........then you can judge the cost of a new V reliability / cost of a second hand one. In my opinion, if you intend to keep the car I would invest in new, but thats my thoughts.
  23. in all fairness, by the time you have removed the lock assy and messed with it to try and fix which I doubt would be a 100% reliable option......it would be easier to fit a new one and be done with it imo.
  24. anything left ON will drain the battery..................the difference is how quick V how big the "load" is of whatever is left on. As an example, My dash camera will drain my Fabia in about 10 days if left plugged in. So if you know the current draw of the item, you can approx work it out. PS insurance "want" you to fit ? or is it a requirement of your current policy ?
