  2. corrupt / copy software ??
  3. I don't see why they could not time it without the VVT. It was not "out of time" before they did the chain was it............ Have they worked on these engines before ?
  4. Any system fitted to the car that has diagnostic capability VCDS will talk to no problem at all.............this is "assuming" you mean a genuine VCDS purchase, if you mean a copy from fleabay............., then you take a chance on what it can do.
  5. All the relays would be located up behind the dash panel on the drivers side in the relay carrier.
  6. I use these https://www.powerbulbs.com/store/category/philips-xtreme-extreme-vision-car-headlight-bulbs BUT and it is VERY important, irrespective of what bulbs you use, having the headlights set correctly is most important and makes a HUGE difference..............NOTE setting correctly is NOT the same as passing an MOT.
  7. I am struggling to again understand your comment.......... What I have i NOT accepted are different ? and as I stated earlier, and you have just posted............."plenty of threads"......................still doubt theres any official documentation in any of it. Only mention of PQ25 in my Scan is under the BCM, nothing else.
  8. Never said it was "just" for AWD.......fully aware how things move on within automotive design and manufacture. I am getting drawn into a pointless discussion to be fair, I have not seen and I very much doubt you have seen, along with many others...... the official docs / design changes / improvements etc etc that VW released when developing / building the PQ25 platform, and to be frank any other platform for that matter. It's all word of mouth internet forum hearsay and a lot of the time nonesense and bullsh*t.
  9. not sure of your point tbh.......................PQ25 was developed for AWD, just because VW chose to use it in only 1 car makes no odds to the discussion.
  10. May well be, but it was originally a PQ24 and from 2010 just a hybrid of both.............. and I don't think "anyone" really knows which parts of which it uses, the main option with PQ25 was for 4wd which Skoda has never offered, In all honesty not really bothered as I'm not trying to fit mondeo parts to my fiesta!!....
  11. it's only forced onto / press fit onto the splines by the retaining nut (same as front wipers), so remove the nut and then wiggle / apply penetrating lubricant and she should come off.
  12. I think its the first VRs I have seen with that mileage.............good to see that its possible even with all the issues that potentially can happen.
  13. Surely the work done by the dealer is warranted ? there is nothing else to the system. Who checked the door looms ?
  14. Only someone that for some reason has fitted a diff cars part to theirs would know that. Whats wrong with using Fabia parts ? Mk2 fabia uses PQ24 platform
  15. interesting regarding the link, but jsut to show it is there (although does not work if you type reg in now).............wierd
  16. got an interesting history.......... https://www.mycarcheck.com/car_history_check/fd60bc0c0a357ed7ab28d4a3c5703af0
  17. here it is with the text................it "sort" of makes sense.............. it says "swivel"................I think it means "wiggle" (german language translation) as the 2 key ways shown in image would not allow it to swivel, so I think its "wiggle and pull"
  18. engines are not supposed to rattle full stop...............so if theres a noise thats noticable, I would be getting to the bottom of it asap and not use the car until its fixed. Is that reg correct ???
  19. My continentals were VERY noisy....the goodyears on the front are much quieter.
  20. I did not mean to seem I did not think it exists, what I mean is there is just loads of links to discussions, not just here.........but germany, Austrailia and all over the place..... I am VERY surprised that know one has obtained the offical documentation and posted somewhere. I would like to see what it actually says. It must exist in PDF format "somewhere" Seeing "carried out 34H5" means nothing..... want to see the detail !!!
  21. to be perfectly honest, I stamped history from a dealer really don't mean much unless you "know" the car. Checking screen wash level is a "service item" and anyone can do that. I would consider ALL the things mentioned regarding pads and all the filters etc and even an oil change something to just budget to do yourself so you know where you are. My car had a fully stamped Skoda history when I bought it 3 years old................. it still had the original air filter in it. If the car is "right" then thats the basis "imo". You can tell a car thats been looked after regardless of what the service book says. Not sure what 34H5 was exaclty, the number is quoted all the time on here but I have yet to see the "official" documentation, not even sure it exists on here. Mine is a july 2013 and mine has had no recall or service campaign, I checked with local dealer so I doubt a 2014 car would need it. As mentioned its a CTHE, so "best of the worst" as they say. I think £6000 for a 2014 car is cheap, would be atleast £6995 on a forecourt, maybe even more also depending on options fitted to it.
  22. yes you can get a large MPH on the maxidot. You have to set the vehicle to "rest of world" spec with VCDS or similar and turn off ALT speed disp in maxidot settings. You then have the option for a digi speedo
  23. have you checked the fluid level.....................
