  1. try this, stand by the car, push ANY of the buttons on the remote control then "within" 60 secs unlock the car with the key and see if that works.
  2. I am assuming you mean the square hole behind the handbrake, if so its not a cover its a little stowage tray. Only 2 reasons its missing............... removed to adjust handbrake and the idiot forgot to put it back..............OR it had an armrest fitted and it was removed by the previous owner or the dealer. If its a grey dash / console then this is what you need........ https://www.oemvwshop.com/5j0858373-47h-stowage-compartment-onyx-p295859/ Be careful if you look on ebay, some people are charging 10x what they cost new for used parts.
  3. Glad its sorted........ REF the sodering iron, they are often made of a plastic that won't weld, well it "may" but then it breaks very easy.....tried many times before.
  4. its def the fact the brass adapter is not "on" far enough........(see your edited image below) look at the distance here where I have marked and compare to my image where you can see the brass adapter is much further onto the original mount. It def does work no probs once the adapter is on. Take a good look and see which bit needs filing, its not much at all I would think, also when its "close" you can tap it on with a nylon or rubber hammer.
  5. Yours does not seem on correctly or enough. Heres mine fitted....literally just took this photo.
  6. As i mentioned ealrier in the thread, made as much if not more of an improvement.
  7. Both the factory Cruise control kit and seat storage were purchased from a dealer, and they were cheaper than on EBay and these "specialist" VAG places...........Always worth ringing a dealer and even asking for a discount. Stowage boxes https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Caddy-Storage-Compartment-Seat-6Y0881578A/264585849826?hash=item3d9a8babe2:g:hNIAAOSwjFleDbHN Cruise kit if your vehicle is "after" may 2012 and has Maxidot / trip computer https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/5j2054690a-cruise-control-skoda-38510.html
  8. most of my stuff is interior mods as its fast enough for me out the box.................. not really "need" any of them, but fun fitting them in... Columbus NAV / DAB, Cruise control, Self dipping Mirror, Under seat storage, Centre Armrest, Rear electric windows, Gas bonnet struts, Sunglasses holder
  9. cruise control, RNS 510 DAB, Nav , DVD etc, rear electric windows, self dipping mirror, centre armrest, under seat storage, bonnect struts, working side lights in headlights..........not sure which was "cheap" though ......underseat storage maybe...🤔
  10. Why do you need to know ? pretty sure all Vrs's are the same. Any decent motor factor will sell you the parts as listed as per the vehicles registration mark.
  11. this should help https://pinoutguide.com/Car-Stereo-Volkswagen-Porsche/Volkswagen_RNS_315_Car_St_pinout.shtml
  12. caliper slides or piston sticking..........A wheel bearing would have to be very fubar to create a lot of heat, and I would think you would have heard / felt it long before now.
  13. My mum just chopped in a 64 plate 1.2 Tsi with 25k on the clock, pretty perfect nick and she got £5000 for that.
  14. Sounds like its low on gas to me, outside temp will affect the pressure it runs at, so the pressure switch is potentially stopping it. Take it to kwik fit, get it vac'd / emptied and charged properly so you have a starting point, then go from there......otherwise you have no clue where to start.
  15. Always had wheel locks on the 30+ cars I have owned and never had one "fail". If they are fitted to the correct torque and not fitted / removed with an impact gun, should never pose an issue.
  16. It's the clip thats broke on the light or to put it bluntly it's gone completely, hence it was bodged in..................probably levered out with a bar by an idiot that should not go near cars. Bumper looks ok. Heres an image of what it should look like........ and a link to the item for sale.... https://www.deutsche-parts.co.uk/fog-lamp-5j0941701c-new-genuine-part.html
  17. Just because the MOT man is crap at his job (and thats if he's even there when he logs on) doesn't make it legal or an excuse to remove it. It's part of the factory emissions control systems and it's a failure if removed............simple. Wonder what else these MOT testers ignore...............corrupt car system rides again!!
  18. either way................removal of any of it is a potential MOT failure, and the way the world is now with emissions etc it will only get more stringent.............or batteries!!! 😁
  19. Glad you have it sorted and are happy 👍.................still dont understand why the additional relay was needed though.........🤔 As far as bulbs, I use Phlips extreme vision, made a big difference but just as or more important is to get it on a beam setter and get them set right, especially if they are not original and the vehicle has been messed with.
  20. Now called extreme vision.........example below....... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-12972XV-S2-X-tremeVision-Headlight/dp/B00NMEEV9W
  21. But that does not stop the glare and blinding oncoming drivers as the light is not focused correctly because the relfector is designed for a Halogen bulb.
  22. I use philips extreme power
