  1. Keep in mind a new anti roll bar fitted by Skoda could have exactly the same problem. How they have not got on top of this problem is beyond me.
  2. Really looking forward to seeing what they do. Superb 3 is a tough act to follow, hope they retain some analogue controls for the interior.
  3. I did, as it is one of those jobs I don't actually believe they will do if you leave the car them! Saw the oil go out and new oil go in. They showed me what came out.
  4. Black may have been an overstatement but it was certainly a good deal darker compared to the new oil. Quite why I can't say!
  5. Can't help with the question but had mine changed on a 1.4tsi at 80,000km by an Indy. The oil was black and very thin, was very happy to get it changed. Got the oil from a Skoda dealer and it took 3.5 lites I think.
  6. I'd say it will evolve the handsome exterior styling but expect more bling and more screens in the interior.
  7. Cheers for the detailed response Carlston. The mechanic has the car VIN and is going to fit Monroe.
  8. Car failed test for leaking N/S rear so need to get both sides done. (150,000km and 6 years) Any recommendations on brands, currently thinking Monroe/Sachs or Bilstein B4. Also am I correct in thinking this is not a huge job, everything can be done from inside the real wheel arch? TIA
  9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds-5pN3_W2o Without a nob this might be tricky but it may help.
  10. My car (2015 same engine and gearbox) also does this intermittently. I think you would be very lucky to get to Skoda to cover any of this repair, unless a leak is found once they open it up. Are they quoting £1400 just for the clutch? Flywheel really needs to be done at the same time. You might get a much better price elsewhere. In. my case clutch and flywheel are the obvious answer, but as it is intermittent and the clutch is not slipping I haven't bitten the bullet as yet. I'm also concerned that I may do the above and it may not fix the problem. Keep us posted as to how you get on.
  11. You will need thin trim remove Tools. Mask Blue area with tape in case trim tool slips and scratches plastic. Orange arrows, start here. Once this area is lifted you can slot a credit card in there to keep the gap where are you use your trim removal tools on the next next stage. Green arrows next. Blue arrow, trim just hooks under here, no prying required. It will then lift out allowing you to disconnect the two block connectors for the windows and mirrors. It is a tight fit but will pop up as you work your way around.
  12. Guys, despite what it says in the ad that is a Superb, I would have thought Superb owners would know that! And is the front door design not common to both?
  13. Can you post a photo? Would have to be pretty bad for the whole door needing replacement.
  14. So today I drove of a small branch, whacked the underside of the car, immediately dashboard light - Skoda oil sensor workshop! Took it to my local mechanic and sure enough the branch had whacked the connector and ripped out a wire. They were able to reconnect it but the block, which is part of the wiring loom is damaged. Light is off for now. Allieexpress to the rescue and a new block connector on the way from China for €5. Moral of the story, don't drive over a small branches!
  15. Big fan of TW sealants too. So easy to use, cheap and last forever.
  16. Both items you have a linked to are basically the same thing. Butyl sheeting that has to be stuck to the car. As posted above there is a ton of information on how best to reduce tire noise. The first step is to chose tires that have a low decibel rating. After that soundproofing the car.
  17. Also don't be tempted by a cheap pollen filter, OEM or charcoal activated are best.
  18. I also had the same problem after a few years, just stale bacteria in the AC system. I run an AC deodoriser spray but as I didn’t replace the pollen filter at the same time the smell lingered. So I removed the pollen filter and used a Maguires product, installed a new pollen filter and the car smells super fresh again.
  19. Use white lithium spray grease. If you look under the car from behind each wheel arch you can see the bushes and you can reach under and spray them. In my car (1.4tsi) you can access the passenger side from the engine bay as well. Just saturate the bushes with spray.
  20. Mine and the wires car are 100% ARB's. Lubing them helps for a while. Crazy engineering oversight really.
