Could you illustrate where are you make this cut to make installation of the rears easy?

Replacement brake dust shield?
Thanks folks, bummer to hear the back one is the tricky one as those of the two that are particularly rusty.

Replacement brake dust shield?
Mine are pretty rusty and given that I need to replace the disks and pads soon was wondering if this an easy enough job to install the new brake disc shields or is it more involved job, like taking the hub off? Pic for reference.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Replaced the boot switch as the old one was acting up. The same switch failed on my wife's Superb about a year ago. Very simple job and part is available on Amazon for €20.

Any high mileage TSI engines out there ??
Our two 1.4's now 120K and 160k. Nothing unusual to report on either (touchwood).

Cam Belt Change on WaterPump Replacement
The water pump on the 1.4 TSI is that the opposite side of the engine from the timing belt so no, they wouldn't have replaced the belt while they were doing your water pump.

Superb clutch judder
Mine was also intermittent, sometimes pulling away at first it was terrible, and other days nothing at all. Replacing the clutch and flywheel 100% solved it. A bit of shopping around and I got it done for €1000. It took two guys 1.5 hours to do, so if you find someone who knows what they're doing it, shouldn't be prohibitively expensive. The 1.4tsi 150 manual is a DMF.

Cost of Rear Dampers 😳
Say what? Link to whatever those are?

Flywheel replacement
Just replace mine but on a manual so can't really advise on cost but LUK is the OE and they are very good, and not crazy money either.

Cost of Rear Dampers 😳
If they are non DCC that is way too much. Shocks are around €200 (Monroe) and fitting is straightforward. Should be more than €400. No need to bring this to Skoda, any independent can fix this for you.

Main dealer unable to fix intermitent faults superb mk3
Trying to understand how a crankshaft sensor could throw up all those codes but you never know. Hopefully it is fixed once and for all.

Manual box gearbox oil change
Can't help with fill and drain on your engine, they are pretty easy to spot on my 6 speed manual (1.4tsi), but you're absolutely right it is well worth changing. I did mine a couple of years ago and it came out in pretty poor shape. Can't say I noticed much difference in quietness or shifting but it was good to know that it was back up to spec.

Front end creaking.
My creaking was eliminated by spraying white Lithium grease onto the anti roll bar bushings (accessed from under the car behind each wheel arch). It lasts a while but needs redoing from the creak returns.

Water Pump Failure
I had my TB changed at 5 years, 70k. I had a look at the old belt coming off and it looked brand-new. No sign of anywhere whatsoever.

Clutch pedal sticking down
Double checked with the guy who just did the flywheel and he confirmed it is outside.

Clutch pedal sticking down
As I understand it, unfortunately with this kind of problem you don't know whether it is the master or slave. Are you losing hydraulic fluid, can you see any leaks around the master? Worst case scenario you replace clutch, flywheel and slave find out that it was a master all along. I would be tempted to replace the master cylinder first which is the cheapest job.
-
Clutch pedal sticking down
Just had my clutch and flywheel changed, was €1000 which was a very good price I think. Skoda wanted nearly twice that!
-
Clutch pedal sticking down
Mine is similar age and mileage, was quoted around €400 for a new Master. The Slave is external on my 6 speed petrol, so not a huge job to replace.
-
Clutch pedal sticking down
Have also had this a couple of times, a bit concerning, could be a failing Master or Slave, good luck and let us know you get on.

Drive modes - what do they do?
Played around with it yesterday, could not detect anything in relation to steering weight but think the car was quicker in sport, less eager to shift into Eco 2 cylinder mode. Can't believe it has taken me six years to start playing with this!
-
Drive modes - what do they do?
In the infotainment settings under 'driver assistance' there are various 'modes' ranging from eco to sport. Mine has been in comfort from day one. Can anyone confirm if the sport setting makes any difference on a non-DCC, manual car? Not sure I can discern any difference.
