  1. Can you post a photo? Would have to be pretty bad for the whole door needing replacement.
  2. So today I drove of a small branch, whacked the underside of the car, immediately dashboard light - Skoda oil sensor workshop! Took it to my local mechanic and sure enough the branch had whacked the connector and ripped out a wire. They were able to reconnect it but the block, which is part of the wiring loom is damaged. Light is off for now. Allieexpress to the rescue and a new block connector on the way from China for €5. Moral of the story, don't drive over a small branches!
  3. Big fan of TW sealants too. So easy to use, cheap and last forever.
  4. Both items you have a linked to are basically the same thing. Butyl sheeting that has to be stuck to the car. As posted above there is a ton of information on how best to reduce tire noise. The first step is to chose tires that have a low decibel rating. After that soundproofing the car.
  5. Also don't be tempted by a cheap pollen filter, OEM or charcoal activated are best.
  6. I also had the same problem after a few years, just stale bacteria in the AC system. I run an AC deodoriser spray but as I didn’t replace the pollen filter at the same time the smell lingered. So I removed the pollen filter and used a Maguires product, installed a new pollen filter and the car smells super fresh again.
  7. Use white lithium spray grease. If you look under the car from behind each wheel arch you can see the bushes and you can reach under and spray them. In my car (1.4tsi) you can access the passenger side from the engine bay as well. Just saturate the bushes with spray.
  8. Mine and the wires car are 100% ARB's. Lubing them helps for a while. Crazy engineering oversight really.
  9. Yes, it was an older one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI4nq_4bZlg&t=209s
  10. That is disappointing to hear. Saw an Autodoc video where they replaced the bushings on an Octavia while on the car. I was hoping it was similar.
  11. Still plagued by front suspension creaking coming from the anti-rollbar bushes. Greasing them helps for a while but would love a permanent solution. Does anyone know if the bushings are replaceable and if so is it a big job? Was thinking Polyurethane replacements which might be quieter.
  12. Do you have to replace it with the same fancy glass? I have the non-photo chromatic and to be honest I've never missed it. Maybe that is a cheaper option, assuming it mounts in the same way.
  13. You can request OEM glass if going through your insurance (assuming your policy has windscreen cover). It's more expensive for the insurer but you will end up with a better screen, some of the cheap stuff Autoglass and others use have optics and fitment issues.
  14. If your local Indie will fit parts you supply just buy Brembo/Pagid discs and pads, should cost around €250 fitted or half of what a main dealer would want for the job
  15. So the sound seems to be gone, even though I didn't find anything when I poked around. I did poke around between the screen and dash with a trim removal tool where the sound seemed to be, maybe I pushed whatever it was and lodged it in place? Will find out for sure if the screen is ever replaced. Fingers crossed it doesn't return!
  16. Didn't remove entirely, removed the clips and rubber strip, this allowed me to prise them up enough to have a good look inside without removing the wiper arms. Mother of God, why?!
  17. Just checked the scuttle, removed the plastic trim, all clear in there, removed pollen filter, all clear, removed side plastic cover on dash and reached in as far as I could, no joy. Whatever it is, is light and able to roll back and forth. Maybe time for one of those USB endoscopes to look behind the dash...
  18. Good suggestion re under the scuttle, sounds like its inside the car though. I took the glovebox down, nothing there, but will also pull the pollen filter and look in there. Keep the suggestions coming!
  19. Here is one to send anyone with OCD over the edge. Sounds like a pen or pencil has fallen down behind the dash by the windscreen at the passenger side , and it rolls back and forward under acceleration and deceleration. Mother of God. Any suggestions how to get it out?
