  1. It's just under the plastic housing at the windscreen bottom on passenger side. 2 metal clips and a seal to remove to remove the plastic housing and the you can access the AQS. It's a 10mn job, no more. You just eventually need a small flat screw driver to "unlock" the safety clamp of the sensor. Sorry I'm not sure I use the right words. But you'll understand, once you see it. 😁
  2. 3 things done today: - Air Quality Sensor replaced: No more fault code popping up. - New battery installed. - Appointment book for sunroof side seals replacement (will be replaced in early january). BTW, the VCDS coding upon battery replacement, is really bullsh*t. My original battery was a 68Ah Varta, but I discovered the manufacturer code was JCB instead of VAO as it should be 😯. Additionally, the S/N was 1111111111 instead of the actual S/N figuring on the battery BEM code sticker 🙄. I nevertheless coded everything properly, at as it should be. Last point to fix is the inner ski hatch handle...
  3. Hi, Problem solved, no more fault code popping up upon VCDS scan. I finally found a D version (as my original one) on a french website for €107 (delivered), compared to €97 on ECS Tuning. I found this easier.
  4. Appointment book by my local dealer for early january. I'm eager this becomes an old story.
  5. Just an hypothesis, not sure this IS the cause... I suspect there is some water in the wipers / S&S connectors. When this water freezes it opens the circuit and causes error messages... FWIW, maybe something to check... 😐
  6. I've bought these one in a local store for less than 25€ ~6 years ago. https://www.amazon.de/Waterproof-Staubdicht-Protection-Transport-Durchmesser/dp/B0BCVYVMM5/ref=pd_vtp_h_pd_vtp_h_d_sccl_6/260-8300844-1521009?pd_rd_w=2AEuc&content-id=amzn1.sym.09878bf4-d830-4bd8-80b8-f712ac9b230b&pf_rd_p=09878bf4-d830-4bd8-80b8-f712ac9b230b&pf_rd_r=9KTCGRAN7GEKT7SNMT7B&pd_rd_wg=P40Lx&pd_rd_r=0a08c8e8-f5a2-44d8-8be8-71bc71622ae9&pd_rd_i=B0BCVYVMM5&th=1 Viewing which wheel (where it goes / comes from) without unpacking the wheel makes it easier.
  7. I now better understand the joke, when some of you guys write "main stealer"...😁
  8. The root cause may be a corroded piston rod in the caliper. Hydraulic pressure makes the pads press the disc without problem, but corrosion probably prevents the piston rod to slide back in the caliper when you release brake pedal. If you bring your Mk3 to a local Indy, he should be able to fix this easily. Then, no problem to replace pads and discs.
  9. Yes Oscaro indeed. First time they've done such a mess with an order. I've also tested Auto-doc. But also one bad experience. Finally, I don't know much trusted spare parts websites in France... 😐
  10. I think you know much better than me, how they'll do... 😁
  11. At the beginning I thought, they were both AGM. But when I better looked at the one I recieved, I noticed it was not an AGM but an EFB. But it was to late to edit my post. Sorry for the confusion.
  12. Well, I went to my local dealer today get a quote for the seal replacement. It costs €465 incl. VAT for parts and labor time, including €261for both seals only. In fact, the seal which has to be replaced has a U-shape (3G9877297). It borders both sides and front side of the rear window and there is a second seal (3G9877913) which covers the U-shaped one to provide a good sealing between both windows. They quoted 1,8h to make the job. Actually, they don't have to remove the roof ceiling and sunroof mechanism to replace the seals. They can do it from the outside. Well wouldn't say I'm happy, but honestly, I had prepared myself for worse, with a 4-digit bill... I almost hesitate to diy it, but since I've never done it before, I will leave my white whale to them. That way, if there is a leak, they can take it back at their own expense. Sorry @ApertureS I won't have any pic to share you. 😐
  13. Thanks. I thought my English was not good enough. But finally someone who understands my point. Indeed, this article let me think AGM is a better solution than EFB for my Mk3 https://batteryworld.varta-automotive.com/en-gb/efb-or-agm-which-battery-do-i-need Note: It’s a Varta to Varta comparison. No Bosch story. @Graham Butcher and @skomaz Have a look to spare parts websites and check how often EFB batteries suiting your Mk3 (based on nameplates) are proposed compared to AGM ones… I´ve looked at almost 8 or 10 french websites. No EFB was proposed for my car. Thus I’m convinced I´ve made the safest choice for me and my Mk3. Feel free to do differently if you think it’s a better option for you.
  14. As explained above, they have the same characteristics, but the website states that Varta's compliance is not guaranteed. Meanwhile I've read an article saying that EFB technology can make some troubles sometimes. As I feel unlucky currently, I don't want to take the risk... 'cause if I nevertheless install the Varta one and have troubles, they'll argue for sure that their website clearly states the compliance is not guaranteed. Otherwise, I would have installed it. As said above. I have no problem with Varta. I've installed one on my wife's Audi Q3 2 years ago. And I've ordered another one yesterday evening for my Mk3, but a complying one this time. You do realize that the new Superb Mk4 and new VW Passat will be the same with many components and even body works parts built in the same factories, don't you? But why buying one rather than the other... 😜 Please read my initial post above... The problem is not the brand, but being sure the battery fully suits my car.
  15. Hi, Summary of the discussion with website customer support, it's... Awesome... I don't write again the problem description. _ Sorry sir, yes indeed this is not what you ordered, but it is an equivalent product. We have made an exchange because the product you ordered is out of stock with our supplier. _ Sorry, but when did you ask for my agreement for this substitution 🤨? Furthermore, your site states that installation on my vehicle is not guaranteed, so I feel skeptical. _ So you want to organize a return? _ Yes please. _ Very well, it's organized, I've just sent you the return paper. You'll be refunded soon and you can reorder. _ OK, thank you for the refund, but what guarantee can I have that I won't face the same problem 🤨? _ Yes, I understand sir, but in this case you can still mount it on your car, this is a very good product and the characteristics are the same. _ Oh, wait wait wait, I have no problem with Varta brand, but I repeat that according to your website, the compatibility with my car is not guaranteed 😠. So if I install it anyway and have problems, what do you think that will happen? You're going to refer me to what's mentioned on your website and you're going to tell me that I should not have mounted it and therefore it will be my own fault... Am I wrong? _ Yes, I understand sir, you're probably right. So you prefer to remain on the return of the product? _ Yes right. And what about the 10% promo code I used when I ordered 🤨? Because now it's no longer valid. I can therefore no longer benefit from it to reorder and have the same price. _ Wait, let me find out... ... _ So sir, I can send you a €10 reduction voucher. _ Um... I had a 10% promo code, not €10. It's not quite the same thing 😬... I'm being fooled here... I'm not really happy. _ Yes, I understand sir. But I can't do more. I'm sending it to you anyway. _ Well... I don't have much choice there...😬 _ I have just sent you the discount voucher by email. In the meantime, I've been checking, the Bosch battery is available again from our supplier. You can order it. _ Oh? Alright. Is it still the same price? _ It is €220. _ What 😳 ?! Wait, let's recap. I ordered a Bosch battery for €125 (reduction deducted). Without warning me, your colleagues sent me a Varta whose compatibility with my vehicle is not guaranteed. So I have to send it back to you. I lost my 10% promo code, you are only offering me €10 off as compensation. And now I will be able to order the battery I wanted for €210 after deducting the €10 you offer as compensation? So I'm going to pay €85 more for the exact battery I wanted 😤😡!?! Is that what you call customer satisfaction?! I really have the unpleasant feeling of being fooled! I'll be polite because it's not your fault personally, but I'm really not happy with these practices. Anyway, back to square one... In the meantime I found a compatible Varta this time (A7 reference), for €144 on another website or the Bosch in a local store for €151. What a loss of energy... Sorry for this looong post. 😁
  16. Rear DRLs, or simply tail lights coupled with front DRLs?
  17. They are the same as the current one. I plan to give a call to the customer support of the website tomorrow.
  18. I was about to change my battery. I had ordered a Bosch S5 A08 (70Ah - 760A, a bit stronger than the original one), but recieved a Varta N70 (also 70Ah - 760A)... 🙄 The size are the same, they are both AGM technology, but for the Varta, the website where I ordered my battery states: Mounting on your car is not guaranteed... I'm fed up with such a lack of professionalism. I've now 2 options: 1) I don't pay attention to the website statement saying that compliance is not guaranteed. And I nevertheless install it, a bit "forced" to do so... 2) I ship it back and open a claim, but I lose roughly 1 week to get the right one and it's a mess to organize the back shipping. Additionally, I'lle have another €140 out, while awaiting for reimbursment Any advice? What seems to you the most clever solution? TIA.
  19. Maybe to consider, I´m not fixed yet. I have to say I wait for prices of both Kodiaq Mk2 and Superb Mk2 and to see them for real, before I decide to go for a ´smaller’ car or not… Anyway, I´ll have a good idea about Cupra soon, since my wife bought a Formentor VZ (245 HP, hybrid version) to replace her Audi Q3 Mk1. Delivery should be in february 2024.
  20. ifinterface is an online free copy of official ETKA. Any error is still possible, but it never happened to me though I've been using it over 19 years, now. 🤞
  21. Just a control logic. When brake pedal is released but speed is still zero, then brale lights are kept on. They get off, once gasp pedal is pressed. It could be something like that. But, other ways to code it are probably possible.
  22. Yes I am. I've been looking the reference from ifinterface.com just before replying. Additionally, I've just checked on auto-doc.fr. This reference actually corresponds to a brake switch. Don't trust the pictures that Google shows on the 1st page, it shows up things that can roughly deal with your search... It's not always a list of exact matching references.
  23. I agree, It would be hard for me to go back on a 2WD now. I had a look at an O4 VRS recently (with full petrol engine, not an iV one), since we should need less space and I also fear the Superb Mk4 prices keep on increasing. But I was disappointed to discover in the technical documents, that the O4 VRS is a 2WD. Additionnaly, I think 245HP is too much, to transfer all power to the ground with a single axle (front axle BTW). Some other cars look interesting for us, but my wife replied me: What? You won't go for a 4WD for the next car?!? It's safer in winter and when we go to winter sports... In this cas I can call her 'SWMBO' 🤣...
  24. It's a good thing to hypothesize, when you're not sure... But sorry to ruin your assumption. Brake switch is reference 1K0945459A and IS located onto the brake pedal. Just have a look to any online ETKA. Regarding the coding modification, it does not depend on the sensor / switch location, but on the way it has been integrated in the system and coded, and... the tool you use to change the code (e.g. VCP may be required when VCDS cannot do it). When you change a coding, it's the SW in a control unit that you modify. Thus, nothing to do with sensor or switch location.
