What have you done to your Superb III today?
Sunroof seal replaced yesterday, one less problem! There's now only the inner ski hatch handle problem to solve. I've removed the armrest to make access easier. The good news is that nothing is broken, one part has just unclipped (the banana-shaped lug, which allows the handle to pivot). The bad news is that I haven't yet figured out how to open the armrest shells, to put the little lug back in place and the plastics shells are very rigid. I'm stressing not to break parts because I don't really know how to disassemble the shells. I need to look in the workshop manual to see if there is anything, but I'm afraid it's too detailed to find any information. 😐 I've removed the carpet on the backside, because I assumed there could be clips. I was right but I did not tried to unclip them yet. Last thing, not done on my Mk3, but on a the Mk3 (L&K MY18) of a friend who wants to sell it. I've made a very deep clean of the inside. Leathers, carpets, windows, boot. Amazing result, since it was a beige interior. She was stunned, almost did not want to sell her Superb anymore... 🤣 Hopefully, she has ordered another brand new Mk3 L&K (TDI150 / DSG7) in meteor grey and black interior, which we saw by the dealer, as I got mine back yesterday. She should get it within the next weeks. Very nice specced one!

Problem solved. Sealed replaced yesterday by my local dealer for €460 (parts and labor included). Happy to get my Superb in better conditions.

VCDS options on Superb III
If you use automatic mode, you can't change the colour of any mode indeed, unless using VCDS. They do get the colour, that you specified in your settings. That's why it's called 'Automatic mode'... If you have disco mode, I suggest you read my latest posts or those from @igrozan who helped me a lot to set it right. I did get rid of 'disco mode' without any firmware update. Good luck!

Shuddering and vibration from 50 mph
I had a 19´´ rim damaged by a pothole: a 8mm ‘dent’. However it has been repaired successfully and brought back into the tolerances (+/- 0.5mm) for €120. May be worth to have it repaired. I fear 4 rims will be way more expensive, but it will be the price for a full peace of mind, I agree.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Hi guys, I´ve recently read a post or a thread on this forum about fuel nozzle cleaners, but I can’t find it again. AFAIK, it was saying fuel injectors cleaning is not recommended in user’s manual, if using a fuel additive. Does anyone remember this and the thread dealing with it? TIA.

Upgrade oil cooler
Yes, buy the two-fan radiator from tow bar configuration, I would say…🤔
-
Upgrade oil cooler
If you have an OEM first mount tow bar, then your Superb is fitted with a dual fan to vent the coolant radiator. This can be checked easily. 😉 BTW, do they both blow when necessary? A fan failure could also be a cause of your high temps… 🤔

Skoda superb 2018 sportline 2.0 TDI 190ps engine oil
Then, IMHO the best thing to do is probably a full engine oil + oil filter replacement to refill with specified oil as per user’s manual…

Skoda superb 2018 sportline 2.0 TDI 190ps engine oil
@310golfr, You speak about 2019/2020 engines but our friend in the initial post mentions a MY2018… My Mk3 ha been built in novembre 2017 and is considered as a MY2018. User’s manual states 504.00-507.00.

Skoda superb 2018 sportline 2.0 TDI 190ps engine oil
Can a MY18 be considered as a new evo engine? 🤔

Skoda superb 2018 sportline 2.0 TDI 190ps engine oil
504.00-507.00 indeed. I ve been using Total Ineo Quartz for at least 45 to 60000km in my TDI190 engine. No problem with it and additionally one of the less expensive.

VCDS options on Superb III
Hi, Go back to pages 87 to 90 of this thread, you'll find all information. I've activated it on my MY17.

Please engage reverse gear and indicate
It's what I call to parking / driving "by ear"... I hate this kind of drivers! Way too common in Paris area... If you do have to park in Paris, rather go to underground parking lots. They're awfully expensive, but you won't have your car bumped...

Very high oil temperatures
I think the data is simply unavailable when below 50C, because it’s just out of calibration . Theoritically, you could get a value but it would not correspond to anything physical. Manufacturer willingly truncate the sensors temperature range to reach a better accuracy around the operating range.

Very high oil temperatures
I fear the oil temp from the VCDS is the same, since coming from the same sensor (I guess). If you can borrow a laser thermometer, you'll be able to check if the displayed value is OK or if the sensor is about to fail... Maybe a VCDS scan could also display 'value out of range' or something like that, which could mean that the sensor is not OK or about to fail... FWITW, it could be something simple to check.

Battery cold climates
Same reference for me when I replaced mine last week! I definitely starts better, and I'm also surprised to see how often the Stop & start system shuts down the engine, with this new battery though I had raised the minimum voltage to 8.4V instead of the original 7.6V. I think I'm gonna raise it at 9.0V at least...

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Yes, I know that. Just surprised, as car manufacturing is 'just-in-time' production and since they exactly know what goes on which car, I had assumed they would have adjust the code to the battery manufacturer. But, if you consider cost killing, why developing something that is useless?... I still don't understand... But not a big deal. It won't prevent me from sleeping well. 😁

Probably right, but surprising to set JCB code instead of VAO when they install a Varta.

Caliper upgrades
I don't know which generation of Audi S4 you're referring to, but just for info., brakes is one the first things that S4 B8 owners do upgrade. They generally go for : - RS4 front brake calipers - Upgraded RS4 front discs and pads (EBC comes often) - Aviation hoses - Removal of a part of front wheel arches - Air deflectors from Porsche Cayman (or Macan, I can't remember) fixed on suspensions arms to redirect air flow on brake discs. Of course the list above is the "full package"...
