  1. @Kenny R I believe you. Just surprised by Skoda decision... The reaction smiley was not obvious to chose to translate my feeling. πŸ˜‰
  2. @Colin170CR I bought it 2 years and a half ago from superskoda.com too. It never moved. Fully satisfied with it. πŸ‘πŸ˜‰
  3. Sportline rear bumper diffusor installed on my L&K since yesteday! (Good bargain from Superskoda.com) Also installed these tyres valve caps (less than 1€ on ali) :
  4. Hi guys, When I bought my MY2017 Mk3 (TDI190 4x4 DSG6), I had been told by the dealer that it was equipped with a brake energy recovery system? Does anyone know how it technically works? Just curious to know. Thanks.
  5. Take a look at the "air quality sensor" (G238 to be confirmed), it may need to be replaced. This sensor sis mentioned ins Self Study Program #107 for Skoda Superb Mk3 Part II Have a check with VCDS, if there is a fault code related to this sensor...
  6. Costs breaking... to maintain lower prices than VW and Audi, I guess
  7. Front brake size is given with option code. 1ZA = 312 mm / 1LA = 340 mm
  8. I fear you have to replace the full front light units (for xenon ones) + electric motors to adjust beam height upon boot loading + electric motor for directional beams...
  9. I feel more sceptic about the sunroof... I had a bad experience with my former Superb Mk2. The sunroof chassis had cracked after 5 years and a half and roughly 115000km. It lead to leakages along the A-pillar, whose cover got regularly wet under heavy or long rain... This should have cost me ~2500 € (parts + working hours) to get it repaired ! Fortunately my local dealer helped me to make Skoda France pay 70% of the bill. Note: I had also told him, that depending on Skoda France decision; I would order him a MK3 L&K TDI190 4x4 Estate... or not... I don't know if it helped, but... Today my MK3 Estate has a panoramic sunroof as standard spec (I wouldn't have specced it if I could...). But I use it as little as possible. OK, on beautiful days, it's nice to stow the shade, to enjoy the light and the landscape on trip to skiing... But that's all, to me and I could easily live w/o it... To me, a fix panoramic roof with foldable shade would be enough. I don't need the sunroof to open. No risk of leakage, nor malfunction issue..." Indeed, I've read some cases of sunroof leaks on Audi Q3 Mk2.
  10. @benbro I'm not a specialist of NZ weather, but don't forget that winter tyres are not only snow tyres. They also offer a much more efficient grip below 7Β°C (45Β°F) thanks to softer rubber and also if it's rainy. I also leave in a quite temperate region of France, we only have 2" snow every 3 or 4 years. When this happens it only lasts 1 to 2 weeks max. Thus I can't really say I've bought these winter tyres for snow... But the grip gain is awesome. I like feeling safer with the bad winter conditions (cold, wet, greasy roads...). I almost feel like driving summer tyres on a dry road above 15Β°C (59Β°F) ... On top of that, when I go to French Alps for skying, I don't have to asks myself whether it will be OK... On the other hand, an alternate solution for you may be to use 4-season tyres. Michelin Cross climate have a very good reputation for instance. They are based on summer tyre rubber technology with a kind of winter tyre tread. Just search on this forum for Mk3 drivers feedbacks on these tyres, they are massively positive. This kind of 4 season tyre may prevent you from using snow chains sometimes, especially if combined to AWD transmission... May be worth thinking about it...
  11. Since you have a MY2020, an oil change after only 450 miles isn't necessarily a bad thing... Few reasons : - The engine break-in is almost done: going with new oil free from thin metal particles from running in is a good thing. Don't forget that lockdown has probably lead you to let the car parked for several days. This may have make the engine "drier" that it would have. I mean the engine oil had long enough time to fully drain back to the tank. The oil film on mechanical parts has been even more thinner and this has decreased the lubrication and therefore parts protection... The engine break-in may have been amplified upon these "dry start"... My Mk3 is the 2nd car I've bought brand new. I had oil and oil filter replaced on both of them after 1500 km (~930 miles). It may sound an outdated practice, but anyway safer for mechanical parts... Note: This has been suggested by my Skoda dealer. I only had to pay for spare parts. He offered me the working hours.
  12. Hi, I've almost same configuration as you : TDI190 Estate 4x4 with 19" Trinity black. I've kept these wheels ass summer wheels. I've bought 4 17" alloy wheels for winter. But you can forget your 4 Octavia wheels... 205/55/16 is not a certified mount for the Superb Mk3. You need either 215/55/17 (7Jx17 ET40) or 215/60/16 (6,5Jx16 ET41) ... I would not recommend you 16" wheel, 'cause it will be as soft as a marshmallow on a hot day... 17" wheel already make the car softer. Additionally you'll have the impression that your Superb has dessert plates instead of wheels... According to your needs, I would recommend 4 summer wheels (18" or 17" depending on you tastes) and 4 winter wheels. 4 winter tyres combined to AWD will already greatly reduce the number of times, you will need snow chains...
  13. That's because Skoda improves its brand image !... We also have a "silver arrow" on the front bonnet... OK, with a feather on top of it...
  14. Hi @Pyotr, There no CDi engine on Superb Mk3... Only TDI... Yes, you just need to pull the engine cover vertically. No tool is needed.
  15. If you have a MY2016, it definitely a Maxidot and no VC. I have also a Maxidot on my MY2017. I'll take a look this afternoon and tell you what is feasible...
  16. Does your question apply to a Virtual cockpit or a classical one on a Mk3 prior 2018? The answer may be different depending on the version you have...
  17. The official size is 8Jx18 ET44. I think only 4mm diffΓ©rence on the ET should not be a problem. But tyre size has to be bigger otherwise, the diameter with 225/40/18 is ~34mm too small. You need 235/45/18 to get the right size.
  18. @shyVRS245 Have a closer look to the other thread... Only 5.3L upon dry fill or 4.7L upon service fill. May be your fingers have merged both values in 5.7l...
  19. Nice! But now, may be it misses rear brake calibers, with gold painting to look consistent with front calipers, doesn't it?...
  20. Good idea, But I fear the location is not the mostoptimized one. Once the boot will be loaded, either the items in the boot will act as a reflector (especially if light colored or glossy) and throw you the light back into your face ; or... they will hide the lights (lot of work for low gain in this case) ... I would suggest to implement the light at the same height as the detachable flashlight on the opposite side, to have something somehow symetric.... It will look as an OEM feature. This should also save some wire length I guess...
  21. @foregonereality I deserve no congratulations. It was my dad's work... He told me the bag was OK. It has only torn of when he tried to cut the tank in 2 pieces.
  22. A bit soon for Xmas, isn’t it? May be a Black Friday bargain? πŸ˜‰ But I understand... IΒ΄m also in a hurry that this strange 2020 year is over... 😁
  23. @richardjh You can buy a replacement key fob on Ali for few Β£ and then take the blade to have it copied from you 2nd or 3rd original key fob...
  24. Take a look here : https://cardiagn.com/2015-2018-skoda-superb-iii-3v-worshop-manual-owners-manual-wiring/ You can download the "maintenance" chapter. Have a look to pages 2 & 3. You'll be then able to understand each part of your VIN. Note: 3T corresponds to Superb Mk2, whereas 3U stands for Superb Mk1.
  25. You're right... One day too soon... The Black Friday discounts stacks with very special low price. It's now only 119€ ... I'll contact them to see If I can get refunded from the difference... Who knows...
