Had a good day passing 43,000 calories (1,083 today) and did 47km in 1 hour 49 minutes giving Day 56 totals of 75 hours and 1,882km.

If you live in the USA the M3/M4 would look great but once a front number plate is fitted it undoes all the hard work of the design team and leaves it looking.......awkward. Alfa Romeo avoids this by moving the numder plate to one side which somehow looks better IMHO.

No but it was captured on a track day at Snetterton passing a few cars including a Caterham which was amusing for me but less so for the lightweight track car. Made Clio 182's look very slow as well. About 120mph on the straights but not as fast as the 660bhp Nissan GT-R's doing 145mph on the same straight. Try searching Briskoda Track Day Snetterton 2018 November might see and hear it. Several members on here have been in it and all commented favourably on the induction and exhaust noises (very Golf R like to my ears). Traction was an issue obviously on wet roads and from a standing start but once rolling I would say from 60-100mph it was as fast as my 272 with 360bhp and crazy top speed (indicated 177mph (283kph).

I prefer the Golf R style 4 round pipes to the aftermarket look of the AMG square pipes. Just my opinion for what it's worth. On my 336bhp Octavia Vrs I retained the original exhaust finishers like my 272 but the whole exhaust was upgraded to a 3" Milltek with sports cat and although expensive at around £1,800 including the downpipe (£600 alone) it sounded very nice.

Plenty of DSG farts on both video's if that floats your boat.

Normal transmission losses if you've watched as many dyno runs as me you can see somewhere in the range of 20-25%.

Managed 73mpg coming home this morning and it is 50% uphill which is impressive.

There is always some transmission loss so most tuners quote power and torque at the crankshaft rather than the wheels for comparison purposes because manufacturers always quote the higher figures. For example a standard 280 with say 280bhp crank power may only have 230bhp going to the wheels but a stage 1 280 with 360bhp (typical figure attained) will have at least 300bhp going to the wheels so there is still a significant gain. Same with torque going from 350nm standard and 514nm (in my 272 at stage 1 tune) the actual torque going to the wheels will be approximately 300nm in the standard car yet probably 450nm in the tuned car to answer your question. My 272 had so much torque low down in the rev range it could go uphill in 7th gear at as little as 42mph yet my current diesel with standard 320nm of torque changes from 7th to 6th gear when going uphill at 55mph despite weighing 160kg less than the 272.

Also the weight of the PHEV being at least 1,750kg not helping the handling with all that weight moving around. My 2020 Superb diesel is only 1,500kg with the 7 speed DSG and handles (turn-in and cornering speed) better than my 4WD Sportline Plus 2019 model presumably because it has 160kg less weight to control. It is huge fun on the standard 18" alloys and Continental 235/45R18 tyres. Never thought I would say that about a diesel. On another point done 444 miles on just the 4th tank in over 2,800 miles since last October and there is still 550 miles left in the tank (range 994 miles). Didn't buy any fuel in November due to being on holiday and last filled up on 31/01/2021 with no need for fuel until March.

Congrats on the Superb choice of the new motor. Hope the 2019 diesel is as economical as the 2020 Evo 150PS in my SEL . Got 72mpg on the commute tonight.

Congrats on finally resolving the situation. Sounds like it has more toys than Hamleys. Did it fall in the over £40,000 Luxury Tax bracket for VED and the extra £325 per year for the first 6 years and did they take the 280 in part-ex? Sorry for all the questions and good luck with the BMW.

Recent milder weather has seen a dramatic improvement in my commuting averages with 68/69 and 73mpg seen on the last 3 journeys improving the since refuel average to 66mpg and the possibility of 1,000 mile range on this tank.

Cost saving a few pennies saved here and there pushes up the profit margin on each car. My flat Energy Blue is a free colour yet Race Blue Metallic is several hundreds of pounds extra but in reality doesn't cost anywhere near that in a car factory using robots and mass production but people (including me) pay the extra charge.

I know what you mean remember overtaking and at 77mph in 3rd gear the traction control light came on and once saw 177mph on the digital speedo but it was only after 170mph it started to accelerate less quickly.

My early (Aug 2017) VRS245 made 252bhp and 400nm on Shell V-Power (99 octane) back in early 2018 then stage 1 map made 302bhp and 467nm and finally with Airtec cone filter and intercooler plus Milltek stainless 3" exhaust and HJS 3" sports cat and downpipe ended with 335.9bhp and 517nm of torque. Amazingly including 2 track days it averaged over 40mpg after 29,000 miles when I traded it in. Still miss the intake hiss from the cone filter. All with the standard factory clutch and 6 speed manual gearbox which appears to be very strong. The stage 2 map (done in Oct 2018) and all work done by AmD in Grays Essex who I would highly recommend.

My 2013 Octavia had the 150PS diesel engine which had 320nm (236lb/ft) of torque according to Skoda and when it went on a rolling road in 2014 for a stage 1 map it produced 147bhp and 246lb/ft of torque as standard which is about 332nm.

Had just one target today and that involved using 682 calories to reach my goal of 42,000 calories which I did of course after 1 hour 11 minutes and 31km. Day 55 totals now 73 hours 11 minutes and 1,835km.

Can't believe it took me 4 months to notice I can lock the car by touching the rear door handle sensors as well as the fronts which is handy when I'm getting my work bag out of the boot (which I can close using the electric button on the hatch) and the warmer recent weather saw a return journey home giving an indicated 73mpg. Currently done 266 miles and 700 left in the tank so won't need the next tank until March. Probably only cleaned the car 3 times since last October due to awful weather plus the Blue colour really doesn't show the dirt unlike my previous 2 Black cars which were a nightmare needing constant attention.

There was a Sport model offered in the UK in the Mk 2 body style with a lairy yellow colour but weedy engines IIRC.

Nothing special about those nasty plastic wheel trims. Looks like some decals fitted by the owner to snazzy it up.

Usually just needs a new 2.5mm (CR2025) battery which is easy to change yourself by splitting the 2 parts of the key apart. Either Duracell or Panasonic are popular.

Energy is normally wasted when braking but either using Eco mode or the Adaptive Cruise Control this energy is harvested and stored as electricity to run ancillary electrical systems and to top up the battery. My diesel is always set to Eco and seems to work judging by a recent commute where I hit 113mph and still averaged 59mpg.

Shmee150 recently bought a Porsche Taycan and can’t charge it in his London parking space and I noticed when he used a public charger he got 175 miles range for £19.00 so that is 11 pence per mile. My diesel costs me 9 pence a mile and I have no range anxiety with 900 mile range.

When it's damp our 3 year old Karoq LED headlights suffer from misting but it passed last month's first MOT with no advisories.
