  1. Thanks that's the same Evo engine as my Superb albeit they were using the Estate but 1,250 miles is still impressive.
  2. Fatigue set in so just 38km in 1 hour 30 minutes today so Day 49 totals are 63 hours 30 minutes and 1,588km.
  3. Buying a BMW (I've owned 2) you will realise how cheap Skoda's are to service.
  4. Take it to your nearest Peugeot dealer for a service not that is much to check on an EV apart from tyres and brakes.
  5. Not sure if a 2017 Porsche Macan is in budget (obviously avoid the 242bhp petrol engine EA888 shared with the Octavia Vrs245 but it can be mapped to around 300bhp) but they hold the price well and handle really well and fairly practical.
  6. Passed 36,000 calories in the morning session and still a bit stiff after several days doing DIY so only 22km in 53 minutes so far. Daily update to come later.
  7. Yes they are standard and if you have the switch/button in the Auto position then they will activate automatically as I have them on my 2020 SEL Superb.
  8. Don't waste money doing an early oil change our car had the first service after 21 months and 18,700 miles (manual 1.5TSi SEL Karoq) and now after 29,200 miles second service is due in 7 months according to the car's onboard computer and has always used 95 octane fuel. If I remap it to 185+bhp this year then it will get it to drink 99 octane Tesco Momentum. So far it has averaged 46mpg from new over 3 years.
  9. For example our Karoq was 3 years old last month and sailed through the annual safety check (M.O.T.) and has just had new front/rear wiper blades fitted for £49 and just one free Skoda service at 18,700 miles (30,000km) and although Skoda say the brake fluid should be changed at 3 years I'm waiting another 7 months which is when the onboard computer says is when the 2nd free service is due (August/September 2021) and the brake fluid change will get done then. The car has now done 29,200 miles and drives superbly. Original brake discs and pads also. Second set of tyres been on since 27,000 miles (original ones rotated at 15,000 miles).
  10. First service can be checked going to Settings on the car and scroll down to service which in your case is 2 years from registration or 30,000km whichever arrives first.
  11. Looks like the Amundsen with the 8" screen.
  12. She will see her name via a notification and she normally gets back to folk with good advice.
  13. That will be factory tinted glass then so expensive to change to clear glass.
  14. What model is it because my 2016 SE I had to pat just over £200 extra for factory privacy glass but my 2019 Sportline Plus and current 2020 SEL both came with factory privacy glass for rear windows and rear hatch window.
  15. @SashaGracemight be able to answer this one as she has done many similar upgrades to her 2014 Octavia Vrs Estate.
  16. My Feb 2020 facelift 150PS diesel SEL Superb has the 7 speed DSG so I would think the Octavia with the same engine would have the 7 speed box. My car has co2 of 103gm/km and combined 72mpg if that helps.
  17. You have to go to a Dealer for them to confirm you own the vehicle as locking/unlocking a car using a phone App could be used by criminals to steal a car so this is a security measure you have to go through.
  18. Hit my mental target today and the 40-60 minute session was impressive at 10km but even the last 30 minutes managed 13km so overall did 41km today in 1 hour 30 minutes even better than the 40km yesterday. Day 48 totals are 62 hours and 1,550km. Now a rest for a few days while I crack on with laying laminate flooring in 3 bedrooms on our top floor.
  19. Morning session saw 35,000 calories exceeded plus another 18km in 40 minutes so far. Update later.
  20. Went past 34,000 calories earlier and after 1 hour 30 minutes managed a decent 40km giving Day 47 totals of 60 hours 30 minutes and 1,509km. Hopefully something similar tomorrow.
  21. Steady day just 1 hour and 26km giving Day 46 totals of 59 hours and 1,469km. On target to reach my 9th Feb target of 1,500km but DIY chores take over next week from Monday to keep SWMBO happy in her new home office and to clear my garage of the laminate flooring we bought last year instead of going on holiday to Hawaii.
  22. Just having 2 weeks off work (need to use up some annual leave) and start laying laminate flooring in 3 bedrooms and assembling a new wardrobe next Monday to stop me getting bored so filled the wife's Karoq as it approaches 1,100 hours driving in the 3 years since we bought it. Average speed has been around 26mph but over the last 100 hours I have been driving it more and the frequent motorway commutes have resulted in just over 3,000 miles in the last 6 months. Recent tank should now last until early March and it did 363 miles using 40.02 litres (8.80 gallons) for an average of 41.25mpg (indicated 43.1mpg on maxidot). Next update next month.
  23. How about a rear wheel drive 3.3 litre turbo Kia Stinger GT-S with 365bhp and a very nice exhaust noise. Very reasonable prices for used ones. Tune it to around 450bhp for sideways fun and don't worry about the fuel consumption.
  24. Despite walking 4.5 miles at work last night (6 patrols) and having just 6 hours sleep this morning went past 33,000 calories just now and managed 26km and 1 hour (another 577 calories). Had no breakfast or lunch today and feel surprisingly strong so all this training must be paying off with increased stamina. Day 45 totals now 58 hours and 1,443km.
